In the cultural heart of Madrid, this luxury designer hotel has a fine art collection. Each elegant room has an LCD TV and a CD player. The Hotel Villa Real is in the Triangle of Art.
Score from 498 reviews Very good
I liked housekeeping twice a day.
No sleepers were provided.
Good location Comfort bed
No water heater in room if guests want to drink hot water, it is very inconvenience for Asians. No shower cap No cups
We liked the the Hotel in general very friendly efficient staff.
The Asian Restaurant in the Hotel was very expensive and poor quality food in comparison to the other eateries in the Hotel. The food appears to already cooked prior to our arrival. Our starters arrived at the table with two minutes of getting the order from us and likewise the main course. This we feel led to the poor quality of the food and we would say we have had much better quality food from fast food Asian takeaways. All that said, the service was excellent - pity the food and the cost let the Restaurant down.
The location of the hotel is excellent and the view very nice, provided that one's room is on the front of the hotel. The rooms are not very large but still acceptable and amenities are OK
The service was not the best I've ever experienced. I had to call twice room service for a simple order that was taking for ever. Also: reception and the main lobby (where the lifts are) are separated by a staircase where one has to carry alone his/hers luggage; no hotel personnel was visible to help
The excellent & thoughtful service, & the most comfortable beds, like sleeping on a cloud!
Nice staff, clean , good location
beautiful architecture & rooms
service in general the electronic system did not work so chek out impossible & they did not sended me by mail the chek the quality of the service was not at the expectitons of a hotel of it's category
nice hotel, courteous staff, close to all attractions, very clean rooms
the room price, expensive restaurant. old fashioned rooms
The room was spacious and bed and pillows very comfortable. Bathroom was large and separate toilet is a must
When we went down to the breakfast buffet in the morning and asked the gentleman at the desk if we could look at what was on offer for breakfast he made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome and we were not allowed to look around. As the buffet is very pricey we would have liked to looked at what was available.
we liked everything: location, rich breakfast, comfortable bed and room,
Your food and dealing with your excellent staff
Missing a swimming pool
Very quiet. Luxurious bed. High quality linen The hotel has a lot of character and charm.
My room was about 100 metres from the lift The dinner menu is limited with poor vegetarian choices
Location, staff, room/suite design, classy place
everything was great and even above my expectations
Location and ambience superb. This is classic Westin .... At it's grandest. It's protruding opulence overlooks the main roundabout in Central Madrid next to the museum. Truly worth your time .
The location is perfect The staff very friendly Heritage and history of the hotel
The staff was helpful and kind finding a restaurant and checking us in. Location
Wanted a congratulatory note ( which I sent when I booked the reservation) and a platter of cheeses and fruit for my daughter who was studying abroad. This was her last night in Spain and what I thought would be a elegant experience. When I got to the hotel they had no information about that. Had to come up with something fast to say. When it was delivered, for a hotel of that caliber it was an unimpressive presentation:( When I turned the light on in the bedroom I was sizzling and flickering. Had to call room service. The air-conditioning did not work in the room. Had to call room repair. The guy showed up with a ladder and was in the ceiling fixing the unit. When we came back late that evening the room was hot! We tried to manage and at 2:00 in the morning it was unbearable!!! I called the front desk. She said to open a window. Which was locked due to security reasons. I later find out you need to call and have them come up to unlock the window and sign a release ?? Did not sleep all night and the stuffy polluted air that was pumping out into the room gave me the nastiest sinus infection and my daughter a cold. Spoke to the front desk the next day and while she was very nice- she asked for my credit card to finish my billing. I was so exhausted and angry I didn't even try to fight it. While the entry was grand and the building and location impressive, the floors with the rooms looked like faded grandeur. It was dark and dated. Didn't have an updated clean elegance at all. For the size that it was, there seemed to be limited places to lounge on the main floor and the gym was incredibly small.
You should have a drink water in sauna area.
Location was perfect for first-time visitors--we could walk everywhere. Check in was a breeze. Room was large, quiet and comfortable. Concierge services were excellent.
View was of a wall, but it was quiet away from the street.
Location was perfect for us, within walking distance of the sights we wanted to see on a weekend break. The staff we encountered were helpful and polite.
For a room costing circa €350 per night...single beds, no wifi in the room, charging for internet connection, coffee costing €7.50 pp (and soft drinks/water all over €5). Overall we got the impression that this was a hotel relying on old fashioned reputation rather than a standard we have come to expect from a 4-5 star establishment elsewhere in Europe.
Overall experience was great. Our room was clean and the location of the hotel made it easy for us as tourists to reach to anything we needed. Right behind the hotel there was a great vibe and tons of restaurants to spend your night at.
Very busy hotel
It's a fancy five-star hotel with all the trappings in a beautiful building. Very well located to walk to the three main museums and also to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Palacios Real. Rooms are sound-proofed, so very quiet. Cheap breakfast options just round the corner from the hotel.
Although there was a free wifi option, the speed was very slow. Drinks are ridiculously expensive in the bar. Didn't try the breakfast. There were some smoking rooms on our floor and the smell of stale smoke percolated into the corridors. This was unpleasant.
Good quality accommodation in an excellent location.
Ludicrous prices for Wifi and internet connection.
Fantasic service, and friendly staff! Brilliant location.
The hotel is in a great location and beautifully decorated.
It had the feel of a large impersonal hotel.
