Noise Heat Limited ventilation If you could have rented a fan life would have been better Comfort- very basic
Close to the city center. Clean enough to stay there even a week
Thin walls. You can hear your neigbours.
Where do I start.. Firstly we had to wait outside the door confused for 5 minutes. The rooms could just do with a lick of paint and cheap but new ikea furniture, everything was a bit run down and old. Bathroom wasn't could also do with being replaced Hair in bath .. Cold shower We got given a room with 4 beds and there was only two of us. My friend went to sleep in one of the beds and it didn't have a sheet - so she took the sheet off another one (logical?). Then when we went to leave, an elderly man who lives in the hostal asked us very rudely where the other person was that was in our room.. we explained that there were only two of us. He then said, "but there are 3 beds unmade" which we then had to explain that there was no sheet on one, we then left, he didn't even want to say goodbye. It ruined our stay in the hostal as everything had been okay until then. I Didn't appreciate being accused of smuggling people in or the way we were talked to.
Very very beautiful building, my room was not noisy, could sleep well.
No elevator! Would be nice to have a fridge and a microwave somewhere in a common space.
For the price it is a wonderful place to live for a lone traveler. If you have two person in your group you probably could find a place with elevator and air condition. I like the historical building the hostel is in and I like the outside environment. You do not hear the busy street which is quite wonderful. There is always hot water. The hostel has a old worn out smell. The whole experience is quite antique. I would stay there again if traveling alone but not during the summer times. The location is great and most of the tourist attraction sites are within walking distance. Price for a lone traveler is unbeatable! The photos are real what you see is what you get.
No air condition, communion bathroom, smells interesting, you can hear everything that is happening in the building.
Marco is a great guy! Talk to him and he will take care of you, A SUPER value. A nice clean basic room for a low price.
Super clean, lovely old building in perfect condition, old-fashioned.
There was nothing I did not like
Clean room, spotless bathroom. Near central location
Staff had no English, not one word. Noisy Small, narrow room.
washing room is bad.
I liked the location
I could not communicate with hostal staff
I like above all the price, connected with its location. Walking distance to all major reasons for going to Madrid. Also located away from any major street noise.
Its a little tired but its not a four star hotel, and its necessary to share ablutions.
Location(very near "action" locations...Puerta Del Sol and Plaza Major), fun spots and Dia Supermarket/ Carrefour Expresses. Very quiet.
For the price "it is what it is"! Run by a family(father, mother and son)...nice people(father/mother were elderly which, is not a problem in and of itself, but the mother got my room confused and walked in on me twice.
Very simple and basic accommodation in an old-styled building. Wifi was great. Location was decent, a short 5minutes walk to Puerta de Sol.
Owners were an old couple who did not speak English and did not seem interested in helping me. Room was fair, not the cleanest nor most comfortable. But you get what you pay for.
The hotel is in the center, Kind staff, value of money, Big room, very quiet.
The blanket was not clean enough. You should have your own sheets with yourself.
Clean and quiet, staff is quite helpful, facilities provided satisfied all needs, would be even better if there's hair dryer.
central, WiFi, clean, towels, clean sheets, beautiful antique building, wooden stairs.
Excelent location. Clean and tidy. The owners an old couple are very nice.
We got a room next to the way out so we could hear all the doors slams. There is no lift, we didn't care but it might not be suitable for some people.
Be aware that it is up 4 flights of stairs, from ground floor to 3rd floor. But you get exercise, and the price is right.
Lovely place in downtown
Nice building and friendly owners. Leave you to do your own thing. Warm showers all day and night. Cosy room. Excellent location.
Could be better signposted - there is only a very faded sign and the doorbell is difficult for foreigners to make out (press the one on the right labled 3!) If you have trouble, remember its just a few doors down from la fang sha chinese restaurant!
The stairs were exhausting with a heavy luggage..
Great location! Great feel of the place. Our favorite place that we stayed in while in Spain.
Perfect situation. Very calm. Very clean.
Location is very central and good. The building is interesting inside, especially the stairs). Two clean towels were included in price.
No noise protection
