Hotel Zen  

It was economical for our family of 7. Well kept, wonderful feeling, music, accommodations. They changed our room when we requested. They were situated close to beach, restaurants, and had 24-hour service. They called for our cabs at 4:30 A.M. and we had prompt service. I would definitely go there again. It was, however, a bit difficult to find as their signs were small. The rooms were roomy for 4 people and private, the baths plenty big. It was very nice. I am very happy with the 3 hotels, apartments, and hostal that I booked through Booking.com which we stayed in while visiting Spain. They were all fabulous, and easy to book, and work with. Thank you!

The staff are the greatest asset of this hotel, friendly, approachable and willing to go the extra mile to ensure any problems are quickly resolved and that you enjoy your stay. The location was great for our purpose, a marathon shopping trip,near to all transport links and large retail parks. The building is lovely with enclosed courtyards and many flowers and plants. The price was the bargain of the century and included an excellent breakfast!

The hotel's situation, being walking distance to the train station which would bring us to the airport. The whole complex itself was very nice, the rooms were bigger than we had expected and very clean.

Lots of noise overhead the bedroom which virtually made it impossible to sleep. The night was very windy which contributed to the noise.

There is no doubt that this hotel is very well planned and the rooms in the extension are modern and well equipped ( apart from no tea and coffee making facilities ). The staff are excellent and chatty and were able to provide me with hot water in order that I could make a cup of tea in my room ( I always carry my own tea bags and mug with me ). There are TV's, but on a very high position on the wall, with English channels on. I was impressed that there was central heating in the room, which was very much needed in the chilly evenings. It is located near to La Colino railway station, which makes it very easy to get to from Malaga Airport, but that was not mentioned in the directions to the hotel.I Found out by pure chance when I was on the train to Torremolinos train station.Future travellers should board the train at the underground station at Malaga Airport, after first buying a ticket from the automatic ticket machines to La Colino station. Take the train heading to Fuengirola and get off at La Colino. Follow the small road heading west along the railway line and at the main road junction, turn right and cross with care to the other side of the main dual carriageway. Proceed west for 100 metres and turn right up a steep hill on a street called Calle Sierra. After another 100 metres, turn right and the hotel zen is 50 metres on the left.

1. No tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. 2. No fridge in the rooms ( for cold drinks, milk etc.). 3. No chairs or table to sit on outside the rooms in the extension. There are chairs and tables outside the rooms in the original part of the hotel, but the staff told me that those rooms aren't as well-equipped as those in the extension. 4. The tv's are positioned too high up the walls. 5. The trees along the outside corridor on the second floor of the extension are overgrown and the branches catch you in the face as you walk to your room 5. It's a good walk to the town of Torremolinos ( I'm a good walker and it took me 40 minutes ).

Friendly, good value for money and in close proximity to the airport, this hotel lies in secluded grounds on a quiet side street. It was a genuine "oasis" of calm after a business trip. A great stay!

Helpful and welcoming friendly staff on duty, arranged 2 taxis for our large family to the airport. Small on site bar and breakfast area, but for anything more substantial the hotel is affiliated to a restaurant 50 yds away. There are also a variety of other places to eat within easy walking distance. Swimming pool nice, plenty of space and private feel and quiet atmosphere, nice view. Childen enjoyed the terrace with pool table.

Hotel is good hotel for holiday if you will go out and somewhere.you will stay in hotel all time.So far for train station and involved place.We search the hotel 4 hours around hotel.We thought so near in airport and because of this reason we booked here but everything was disapointed for us.

I thought Hotel Zen was fabulous - you get what you pay for. My room had a great view, brilliant air-con', all English tv channels except for Channel 4, decent Wi-Fi, powerful shower and nicely decorated. It is a walk to the nearest beach, but it's easy, and only 15 minutes. The hotel is beautifully designed and is very relaxing around the pool area. My room was cleaned every day & was spotless. The four star around the corner (El Pinar) was a dump in comparison! I will definitely stay at Hotel Zen again if I'm going to Torremolinos. There is only one enterance to the hotel and cameras everywhere, so it's very secure. La Colina train station is very close. Taxi to Málaga airport is €18 and takes ten minutes. The hotel was very quiet, which was great.

I hated that they only do breakfast - the only other food available are snacks like crisps, croissants & chocolate at other times. Saying that though, there are plenty of other restaurants around the place (Chinese, Argentinian, Japanese, Italian, Spanish), and the ha El Pinar hotel nearby (you can't miss it) allows non-guests to buy breakfast (€7), lunch (€12) & dinner (€14) - all buffet & as-much-as-you-can-eat. If you are looking for cheap accommodation that is lovely surroundings & can handle being out of the centre, this place is perfect.
