Good location Spacious rooms Good wi fi
Staff unhelpful Pillows weirdly small
No reception staff to meet and greet and to discuss tourity stuff with
Good location, very big apartments, good WiFi, easy access, a lot of tableware. Normal for 1 night
Dirty, we have nuts shuck in our beds, staff is not friendly, no smile, no excuse than you waiting her attention more than 10 min. Very old building
Door mat would be nice.
It appears that the hotel’s (regular) service was less satisfactory during the cold period just after X’mas day. The front desk was closed at arrival (Sunday), but in-advance directions had been sent – one could (eventually) find the room (stair case directions are not too clear – especially in the cold when one just wants to get to the room quickly!) – then the TV was not working (an apology message was, at least, placed). I would classify these more as apartments (rather than a hotel) – suitable for a long-term stay; near to a tram station – connectivity to the tram station (e.g. # 9) to the Helsinki port terminals – nearby Kamppi Center (Kauppakeskus Kamppi) – this is close by, but perhaps “too far” during very cold periods of -15 deg. C in Finland. Breakfast coupons allow for a 10 % discount and served at Café Morocco across the street – the breakfast is average. The Wifi internet worked very well in the room, and the front-desk staff (when available) are friendly and assist enthusiastically.
There are several apartments, so the sauna tends to be booked most evenings. Perhaps when one stays long-term, one can book several days in-advance.
Pillows too small and only 1 each
Easy check-in, even late in the night Helpful staff cozy and spacy rooms Perfect location
Small kitchen facility
Never used Hellsten properties before so that was kind of a hidden jem. Great location, excellent facilities, great value for money. It was nice to stay in the real Finnish Modern apartment house. Also it was extremely close to Finlandia-talo which was our main destination in Helsinki because of Morrissey concert. Definitely worth returning again.
huge room with high ceiling
the pillows were a bit flat
It was a great stay!
Proactive information about reception closing time via sms with all details how to get in.
Building needs to get refurbished.
1) Don't forget to clean dishes after you: it costs 20 euros. I think it is too expensive. 2) Fire alarm was broken and it was shout WHOLE night. No one even tried to fix it before morning. It was terrible.
No soap in the bathroom instead of that everything is very nice
it was very quiet, there was a supermarket nearby as well as tram and buses. the heating worked well and the price for helsinki cheap.
next to the apartments there is a restaurant and the smell comes in all the time. the sofa bed was uncomfortable and the two beds very small (80 cms)
Nice distinction,calm and comfortable atmosphere.
Breakfast is not included,in spite of the fact that the price is not low.
Easy to get the airport bus, just a few minutes walk to the main road. Easy to get to the Rock church, central square and station.
No reception at the weekend.
Getting the room already in the morning was great, really saved my day!
Sound-proofing could be a little better, the cleaning noises woke me up a bit too early in Sunday.
+helpful and nice staff + excellent location + very clean + spacy appartment + very nice view + beautiful oriel window and fireplace
simple place to stay overnight
There was some alarm in a building that started to chime in the evening and nobody couldn't turn it off. So it still chimed after every few minutes in the morning when I left. And that wasn't a first time in an Hellsten's, when alarm ruined my sleeping...
in the city center close to railway station close to bus and tram line large room with a great table and small kitchen
price (as everything in Finland) I stayed 4 nights and the room was not cleaned, hopefully I kept it clean but at least somebody could have changed the towels and renew the shampoo and shower gel.
amount of space, staff helpfulness, facilities.
Distance from town when walking :-(
Large room with a very nice garden view. Jazz club is just one minute away. Finland History museum is right down. "Church in cliff" is 3 nimutes away. Great residental place!
No hair dryer in the room: you should demand for it! I also didn't find an iron...
Ideal place to stay, if you like freedom to come & go as you like rather than a hotel. Good value
Needs updating and repainting
All except the bathroom
Bathroom arrangement and equipment are not fully convinient. Bathrobes and slippers would be useful
Great amount of room with all the basics you need. The apartment has basic kitchen utensils, a decent size refrigerator with convection microwave and stovetop. We were in 213 with the lounge overlooking the park across the road and the bedroom over the courtyard. All on 10 minutes wall to central Helsinki I would highly recommend. It only cost up $860 Australia for 5 nights!
