Just 270 yards from Kamppi Metro Station, this stylish Helsinki hotel is in a refurbished 1920s building. It offers fine dining and free sauna access. All rooms have designer furniture and free Wi-Fi....
Score from 1558 reviews Very good
This modern, eco-friendly hotel is in the Ruoholahti business district, just over half a mile from Helsinki's main shopping and transport hubs.
Score from 3012 reviews Very good
It was close to the Vallila HKL depot. Enough restaurants in the neighboorhood. Het was dicht bij de HKL Vallila tram remise. Voldoende restaurants in de omgeving.
Location of the hotel staff
Very monotonous breakfast. And it is not tasty
If you feel comfortable using the tram system, this is easy to get to and you can reach it on two different lines. Has laundry facilities which is always nice when traveling.
If you don't have transportation or don't like using public transportation, you are a good 10-15 minutes away from the city by vehicle. It is not walkable to the city.
We lived in a studio - nice kitchen, free wifi, TV, sauna 18-21.30 for free (separated for men and women)
I didn't find any problem
Extremely friendly staff, clean yet modest room, good location for my needs.
You don't get a Hilton for this price.
Very accessible to route 6xx series to get to the airport; Great shops nearby, such as the Pizza place, Chinese restaurant and a supermarkt.
Coffee machine was not working or at least I didn't know how to function it.
Was close location to Paavalin kirkko, where attend Chistmas concert.
Appear that "free wifi" not works :( There can`t be open hotel homepage at all, since browser did warning, that page can`t reach, seems it was blocked. Instead of hotel page there all time jump out strange page, which offer internet and asked for bank account :( Be careful, people!
I like almost everything. The most important for us is that it's situated in 10 minutes to go to Messukeskus. It was not the first stay at this hotel and I hope not the last.
There is very noisy refrigerator, so I couldn't go to sleep. There are very old windows in the room. The weather was very windy, so the wind was blowing straight into the room, it was not very comfortable, but thick curtains saved us more or less.
Not bad overall. Got a sauna.
Shower a bit old style, water all over the place in the bathroom
It is very comfortable hotel. I can't discribe why, but I like it.
It was very dirty in the room during this staying. The chambermaid only change the towels but never clean the room and the toilet during 7 days of staying.
It was close to the place where de were attending a conference. The hotel was ok because de just had to stay there for sleeping. I consider the facillities in AVA a little above a hostel
This hotel is very Close to the city center, even if it is not *in* the city center. You can chose to hop on a bus that will take you to the city center in 5-6minutes (I think 4 bus stops). I enjoyed the walk which is about 30 minutes. The hotel is clean, its staff is Nice and I really enjoyed my stay. This is good for anyone travelling on a Budget. Will stay here again!
value for money was good
cosiness, leafy area, view, hospitality, high quality canteen
old furniture, smallish bathroom
It is a simple, clean and eco-labelled hotel with a nice sauna and an excellent value for money. Location was convenient to walk to the Arabiankatu beside the inner sea as well as to reach the city centre
Close to fairs, not as close as Holiday Inn but for half of price.
Light walls between rooms, old elevator, Ditrict of city not very attractive, hard to eat or drink anything in the eveneing. In the hotel - no restaurant
Quiet location, although near to a main road and public transportation. Breakfast is simple, but OK. Free sauna for guests. Good value for money, regarding you're the very expensive Finland.
The room was very basic, and temperature fell in the room when there was heavy wind outside. Bed not very comofortable.
Nice and quiet tucked behind main road to City and airport. Good sauna facility
Breakfast was a bland and €8 but bare able
Breakfast a bit minimal
As all hotels in Finland, the price is too high
Ava is within easy walking distance from the Kumpula Campus science park and very close to tram/bus services to the city centre. Although not luxurious, the hotel is comfortable and the facilities it does offer and well done.
The hotel is quite basic and slightly worn (particularly the bathroom). You'll also notice quite a bit of noise from surrounding rooms.
- quite spacious room - kitchen equipment in the room - quite comfortable beds - free parking - close to the tram stop
- extremely small and uncomfortable bathroom (it was almost impossible to wash your hands without touching the toilet) - more like a dorm then a hotel - far from the old city center
We stayed in AVA rather often and liked it very much: quiet atmosphere and kind support of the staff are very attractive. But most of all we like the view from the window: with the church tower on the horisont line.
Price-quality ration is quite fair. Even probably excellent for Finland, but not for Russia with the current euro course... Location is also nice though a bit far from the downtown, but transport in Helsinki is convenient.
Restroom is really basic. No hairdrier in the room, but it's possible to borrow at the reception, however, reception is open only 7:30 to 22:00 which makes it quite tricky. Other facilities like laundry and kitchen close quite early for us, we are used to go to bed not earlier than 1 A.M. But it's Europe in the end, there is no 24/7 operation here unlike Russia. Also they had only rooms with twin beds (not double). Probably it's only because we booked the last room, but not sure. Otherwise, it's quite a decent hotel
Well, it has best value for money when your priority is to save. Price is exactly on the edge between hostel and hotel. Private bathroom, soft bed, at least fan in the room.
The shower is together with the toilet with no barrier between them, that makes it all wet after shower. The parking is limited, better to come earlier to take a slot. Fan instead of conditioner. Also the building is old, but as I said before, price and private bathroom covers all the inconveniences
