Slightly 'quirky' prison theme adds to its charm. Good sauna. Pleasant restaurant, excellent breakfast. The central 'lounge' area is a bit small and unattractive if you want to relax away from your own room. |

Very quiet! We got feeling that we are only guests in hotel... Good light solution, especially I liked reading lamp. Peaceful location inside residental quaters at small peninsula - we recommend short walk along seaside. Just one small complaining - there was salt and foam for bathtube, but not hair conditioner. |

Absolutely excellent hotel, location is perfect, only a short walk to the daily market, fast Lindaline ferry to Tallin, normal ferries, city centre. The old jail has been very tastefully and asthetically converted into a very spacious place to relax and enjoy the excellent quisine. We will definitely return to this exceptional hotel. |

Stylish hotel of very good standard. Very nice room, quality shampoo etc. I would appreciate if the look & feel of the prison would have been preserved to an even greater extent. If I haven't known it, I probably wouldn't have recognized that the rooms were originally prison cells. The air-conditioning cannot be switched off; it is slightly noisy (but this is usual in modern hotels) and the room was a bit cold. Parking is quite expensive in that part of Helsinki. |

Good sized room (not at all a prison cell). Nicely furnished and fitted. Still new. Not quite in the city centre but excellent public transport (tram) outside the door and just about 10mins to the centre. If you are a light sleeper, this is the hotel for you - thick walls and very quiet. As previously stated by others it could have been nice to open a window, but it wasn't an issue for such a short stay. The weather was warm so it was nice to have air conditioning. The dining room was rather dark at dinner - I guess to recreate the atmosphere, but I would have preferred more light and found one of the few windows. Breakfast however (in the same restaurant) was well-lit and offered a very wide selection of warm and cold food and breads. |

This hotel is really nice with reasonable price for Finnland. We were there for two nights with our littel son and all of us enjoyed it. The location is very central with tram in front of the door and it is also not far away to walk to ferry station and market place. The old prison layout gives an extra "touch" to the whole thing. We tried the hotel rest. and it was quite good. the breakfast is untill 11am and they really close it down at that time, even without any chance to get the extra juice my son is asking for. A small kind reminder minutes before cut down would be nice. |

I liked the atmosphere of the hotel, it has a nice theme. I also enjoyed the food in the restaurant, real first class. Also it has the best smoking room ever. Overall a nice experience. Room cleaning service was not up to scratch. The bottle for handsoap in the bathroom were never refilled and the coffee satches in the room were not replaced every day if they were used. |

The style of the hotel is unic. Unfortunately my room didn't had a sea view, it should be beautyful. Bath was very good. Breakfast was full and fresh. 2 from 3 receptionists should be more professional. I felt that I was delaying them from something else. Too bad, because they spoiled the good atmosphere of the hotel and the overall feeling. |

Breakfest is served until 11 hrs, time for sleep when youare on holiday Windows in the rooms have no handles, one has to breathe the airconditioned air which is ok by temprature, but reminds unvented gym sometimes. Man at the desk says, "we are former prison , thats why windows are not opened". After second attempt the window handles were issued. So far so good. |

We had a wonderful experience! Staff were super helpful, especially with our request for a quieter room after our first night of muffled sounds from the kitchen. We ended up staying 2 more nights and were exceptionally happy - we would thoroughly recommend it. We especially loved the free Internet access and the excellent breakfasts and Khouies (?) in the restaurant who added local colour and an historical perspective to our experience. It was also the first time in Scandanavia that we had curtains dark enough to give us a full night's sleep during the eternal daylight hours! And access to the trams (just outside the jail walls) and the city is fabulous, with delightful neighbourhood walks. The height of the bath / shower would make it very difficult for anyone with any infirmity. Likewise it was difficult not to spray water everywhere on the floor in the shower! But the thick towels were luxurious and there were plenty of them too. PS Could you put Canberra Australia instead of Chapman (our suburb in Canberra) because it is more recognisable in the author info below ). And I couldn't find the reviews mentioned below . . . |

Unique atmosphere, as it is a former jail. The rooms are very sound-proof, and also the doors are good. That was a very good thing, and I got a good night sleep. Breakfast was nice. It would be wonderful to be able to open the windows. |

We stayed for two nights in Twin Premier room. The breakfast was very good for us and for the kid (porridge, dietic menu and common "english breakfast"), the room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Very calm place for the family (sound isolation is very high). The room is well equipped for the family with a small children. The parking inside the hotel yard is quite expensive, but if you feel it overpriced you can leave a car on the street for approx. 3 euro per hour between 9 and 19 (night hours are free of charge). |

Hotel was very clean; even the furniture in our room were like new. Additionally; I didn´t real sound from the corridor or from any other room, so it was very quiet. We went on a Sunday morning for a breakfast more than 1/2 before closing time and we didn´t really get all the stuff we wanted and staff appeared to be pretty reluctant for bringing anything more. |

The modern and urban lifestyle Hotel Glo offers a vast array of services never before seen in Helsinki, combined with a broad selection of recreational opportunities. |
Built in the early 20th century as a harbour warehouse, the original architecture of Scandic Grand Marina has a thoroughly marine feel. |
With its distinctive art nouveau façade and wealth of comforts, this 4-star property successfully fuses traditional grandeur with a slice of modernity. |
Close to the Kamppi Shopping Centre and the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art in the very heart of Helsinki, is the Scandic Simonkenttä, an excellent example of modern Scandinavian architecture. |
