Price, Showers, helpful staff.
Too many people (long term residents??) hanging around drinking.
Dirty pillows, dirty linen, dirty quilt cover. I wanted new ones but they were also dirty and they were smelling bad. There was no washing machine.
Great facilities. Friendly staff. Huge common area plus kitchen. Location is far enough from the centre but the tram is very close so makes it simple to get there. Also has a good bar district nearby (Kallio).
Can't really blame the hostel for this but it really wasn't social at all. Lots of people there but nobody was interacting with eachother outside of their groups.
Far away from the center and not so cheap. Wifi isn't working properly.
This place is huge, and it definitely looks like they know how to deal with such a large number of guests.
The staff is a bit cold.
Large communal space with lots of sofas and tables also a second smaller quieter space with sofas was good great wifi computer for use and tv locker shower had amazing water pressure!!! staff were amazing - helpful and polite close to bus stops possible to walk to city train station (pasila)
Kitchen could get crowded
I only stayed for one night, but this hostel looks good. Facilities are clean, beds comfortable, good kitchen and common space. WiFi works good, the guy at reception was helpful. I wish I stayed here during all my stay in Helsinki instead of the other hostel.
The location is out of the way, but I don't think there's any hostels downtown so this would still be the best shot. Probably half an hour walk to the city.
Gleb was an awesome help and told us great places to go and see while we were staying in Helsinki.
The facilities could have been cleaner. The bathrooms get dirty quickly and could have used a cleaning more than once a day. The check-in time was quite late and was an inconvenice to not be able to get in our room until 2 PM.
Friendly, clean, very practical and nicely situated! Fantastic value for money!
Friendly staff and the room & the showers were quite clean
A little bit too far away from the city center
It's quite a good hostel.. But the room is not so clean
Price Lagguage is safe in personal cells Everything is done to keep the place clean
The friges were full: it was hard to find a place even for a little bottle of water The hostel is far from sity center It took a while for me to find the hostel
good kitchen, comfortable separation of beds, nice tourists
far from center, expensive price for 20-th bedroom room
Welcoming staff, large and airy rooms, supermarket in the same building, good security system with magnet keys.
Beds produce loud noise on every moving. It can be really annoying :)
Friendly atmosphere, clean, comfortable, not far from the city centre. P.S. there's a supermarket downstairs.
The video of how to get to the hostel was great- a really nice idea
Video of how to get to the hostel is not viewable on mobile devices which is a shame. The kitchen area was dirty- guests are washing pans and plates but the whole area needs more maintenance by staff.
For this kind of price this hostel was really good - a perfect peak for a student or a backpacker. Staff will always answer your questions and give you a tip if needed. Traveling cards at the reception were a good bonus, so you don't have to bother looking for a place to get them, especially if you don't know a city. Shared rooms are quite comfy and exactly what they need to be - a place to sleep and have some rest. Public showers & toilet were clean. Hotel location is rather good - grocery store is literally just a few steps away, good transport connections both with trams and buses. Will certainly recommend this place for those who's planning to save up some on an accommodation while staying in Helsinki.
Reception is not there for 24/7 so be sure to arrive in time to check in & get a keycard if you want to come back at late time (later than 0-1 am i think)
Big resting room, friendly customer service.
It was hard to rest there. Bathroom repair works started at 10am morning. Ventilation system permanently worked at max speed and was very noisy. Pillowcases stank.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The location and connectivity to citi locations was great. Will definitely stay there again when I visit next
Good location. Grocery store very close. Free wireless internet.
Many beds in one room and good chance that someone will snore loud. Could not pay with credit card.
The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English.
I didn't realize how far from the city center Cheap Sleep was until I got there. It is far from most sights and I didn't like commuting back and forth. I knew it had a shared bathroom and was fine with that however the showers did not offer the privacy I preferred. When sharing a bathroom I wanted four walls and a locking door instead of three walls and a shower curtain with gaps. Cheap Sleep was not the best fit for me, but not a bad place.
nice helpful reception
Incredibly stinky bed linen. Flood in the bathroom.
kitchen is dirty
Very-very good hostel! All facilities are in exsellent conditions! Even room of 20 bedrooms seems quite cozy. There is supermarket downstairs. And having big screen TV in lobby is really cool for watching Brasil world cup =)
hard to say! may be the fact that you need to take a bus or tram to the center. But it is only couple of stops, so no problem with transport.
It is cheap, newly renovated and modern. There´s a bus station around the corner with busses to the city center and the airport. Staff is very friendly, though not that professional or trained.
Cleanliness is an issue here. In the evening the kitchen area gets extremly dirty and messy - you really wouldn`t want to cook there! Staff doesn`t do a thing about that, they stay behind their computer. They don`t seem to check the condition of the toilets in the evening as well. It also gets really loud - staff doesn`t care. The dorms are rather small and they put as many beds in there as they possibly could. So they did with the showers: If there are many women undressing or showering at the same time, the room gets wet all over the place and crowded.
