Not far from the center, decent breakfast. Large room.
Not free WiFi. Dirty WC. Noisy.
Perfect location, nice sauna, kind staff.
Internet for 2€ per day didn't work well in my room.
Incredible toilet forest sounds. Birds songs. Very interesting and lovely to hear! Also very comfortable shower cabines.
- Good location. - Friendly staff. - Toilet and shower are very clean. - Well equipment in the kitchen.
- No free wifi, even the room price is not cheap.
The staff was great and helpful.
The wifi is paid
Price and relative closeness to the city center. Very close to the Viking Line ferries for those who need that. WiFi was ok.
Bed was uncomfortable and narrow and I did not like the pillow. Too many rooms to the number of toilets and showers. Breakfast was not too good either with not warm "heated up" dishes.
Excellent place to stay here over night. Near the harbor. Excellent price/quality ratio.
A little noisy.
Location, price, GREAT size room. Easy to tram or walk into city.
In depth cleaning of the whole floor on monday morning at 8am. Kitchen had very limited utensiles like a cutting knife etc
wi-fi is not free
The staff was helpful and informative. The hostel bathrooms were very good and clean. The single room I had was good. The windows could be opened and closed/great to get in ventilation. There were brochures and other info readily available in the lobby.
The breakfast was not very good. The dishes were dirty. I had to look through 2 piles of bowls to find a clean one for the oatmeal. Oatmeal was watery. Bread sort of stale. Tables dirty with lots of coffee spills. The guy who ran the breakfast was nice but didn't keep the breakfast food or room clean during the 3 hr breakfast service. Once was enough for me. I ate elsewhere after the first day. Coffee wasn't good. Helsinki on the other hand is full of wonderful coffee/tea - bakeries so go to those for breakfast instead.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. Everything is neat and clean. My room was quiet, so I slept well. Loved the singing birds audio in the bathroom :) There's a lot of useful information for tourists at the reception as well as a really useful map with all the sights to do, places to visit including places for eating out, and some activities to do in Helsinki. Location is perfect- you can either take a tram and hop off at the stop right next to the hostel, or you can walk from the center- lovely to have a stroll when the weather is nice. It's next to the harbour too, so handy if you're planning boat trips and voyages. I'd stay here again :D
Good location, close to the Old Market and the Senate Square, acc 15 min walking to the city center (or 5-6 stops by tram #4). Hostel is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood next to the docks, facilities are simple but quite clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful, reception is open 24 h. Well equipped common kitchen is ok and available 6-23 o’clock. Free daily morning sauna was good.
No free Wifi. Cold room. Bed was old and not that comfortable. Price/quality rate should be improved.
Hostel is well located, in a very quiet neighbourhood at the docks. City centre is only about 10 min walking, the Senate square about 5 min. Reception is open 24h. Facilities are generally clean and the free daily morning sauna is very good.
Although the hostel is equipped with a ground floor restaurant, there are almost no other options for dinner around. Paid breakfast is very ordinary.
An OK place.
Very clean #4 tram straight to city center Close to walk too Flexible with luggage Near Harbour, Silja Line terminal Stockholm and Tallinn
This is hostel, you have to understand that. Public showers, public toilets, but very clean and cozy
Friendly staff. Overall functional, clean and comfortable. Great location with tram stop just outside.
Room was definitely NOT soundproof as described, could hear everything through walls&door - ok by day but after 2am loud talking in corridor woke me up. No option to turn heating down - slept with window open. Shower cubicles could be more private, especially as there's a mirror on opposite wall...
location is convenient
no free WIFI.
There was free sauna
No paid wifi, no paid breakfast, lots of drunk males, own morningolice even stopped by to pick them up, do not recommend this place!
The location is great - one to Old Market Square, the Senate Square, city centre. Easy to find. Grocery store (Apela or K-Market), pharmacy and hair salon are nearby. The area (mostly residential) seems to be safe. In hostel everything is arranged quite simple yet comfortable and rational. Clean. Mostly quiet.
Simple mattress (not orthopedic)
Localisation was very cool as we traveled by ferry - 3 min walk from the harbour. The room and the joint spaces were very clean. The free morning sauna was nice. I liked the birds singing in the restrooms. The staff was very helpful. We could leave our luggage in the closed luggage room after checking out. We could check-in earlier due to arriving in the morning.
The Wi-Fi was not free. There was very poor equipment in the kitchen.
Very easy to move around town by walking.
Paid internet and not a very confortable bed
Bathrooms were clean, morning sauna was great. Good place for short staying.
I could hear literally everything that happened in the room next door.
Kitchen is not very clean
need to pay for wifi (but free of charge if you are HI members)
The place was clean, including the public wc and shower - I liked the bird tones there :) -, the price is very reasonable.
Its a little bit far from the centrum (railway station, bus station) on foot, but you can get there with tram nr 4. The rooms are very mininalist, they could be tuned up somehow.
Internet is paid and too slow. Can`t really do anything with it.
