Friendly staff. Overall functional, clean and comfortable. Great location with tram stop just outside.
Room was definitely NOT soundproof as described, could hear everything through walls&door - ok by day but after 2am loud talking in corridor woke me up. No option to turn heating down - slept with window open. Shower cubicles could be more private, especially as there's a mirror on opposite wall...
The location is great - one to Old Market Square, the Senate Square, city centre. Easy to find. Grocery store (Apela or K-Market), pharmacy and hair salon are nearby. The area (mostly residential) seems to be safe. In hostel everything is arranged quite simple yet comfortable and rational. Clean. Mostly quiet.
Simple mattress (not orthopedic)
Localisation was very cool as we traveled by ferry - 3 min walk from the harbour. The room and the joint spaces were very clean. The free morning sauna was nice. I liked the birds singing in the restrooms. The staff was very helpful. We could leave our luggage in the closed luggage room after checking out. We could check-in earlier due to arriving in the morning.
The Wi-Fi was not free. There was very poor equipment in the kitchen.
Very easy to move around town by walking.
Paid internet and not a very confortable bed
Bathrooms were clean, morning sauna was great. Good place for short staying.
I could hear literally everything that happened in the room next door.
Kitchen is not very clean
need to pay for wifi (but free of charge if you are HI members)
The place was clean, including the public wc and shower - I liked the bird tones there :) -, the price is very reasonable.
Its a little bit far from the centrum (railway station, bus station) on foot, but you can get there with tram nr 4. The rooms are very mininalist, they could be tuned up somehow.
Internet is paid and too slow. Can`t really do anything with it.
Position Friendly staff
Very short bed
Very kind and friendly staff
Wi-Fi only available when you pay Shared showers with only covers from knees to chest, you can see each other showering in the mirror High price for breakfast (€8,80)
Nice staff, clean, close to tram
kitchen on each floor which is handy. Showers are clean and new but really hard (for me) to work out my shower was cold staff were super friendly and helpful. free sauna in the mornings really close to ferry port
feel like they should have free wifi city centre is abit far to walk if you were wanting to be super close but definitely still walkable.
- very nice view from our room - very clean - very good prices -very close to the city centre
- staff could be a little bit more friendly, but it was okay.
Staff worked extremely hard to keep the hostel clean. Receptionists very helpful. Rooms were very quiet. Friendly atmosphere. Trams only a few steps from front door.
Beds rather hard for my taste. Only two male and two female toilets per floor. One female toilet being broken for part of our stay resulted in queues.
permanently open window in girls' shower (3 floor) is not a good idea in cold time of year.
The location of this hotel is great- just a short walk from the old part of Helsinki where most of the interesting sights and museums are located. The sauna was a lovely morning treat. My room was simple but comfortable, no problems with the wifi, helpful staff and convenient to store luggage after checkout.
I wouldn't describe the bathrooms as dirty, but they could have been cleaner.
Staff is very friendly, reliable and helpful. The location of the hostel is excellent.
It's like a very minimalistic dormitory. Walls are very thin, neighbours in adjacent rooms can be very loud and disturbing. Service prices are a little high comparing to the place and the price of the accommodation.
The location is good once I found it, I came on bus from St. Petersburg it arrived on Kammpi Bus Station. It's quite a walk to the tram station and I had to ask a few people where the tram #4 is; the bus driver is helpful and point me to the hostel. I like that I can keep my luggages there for no charge.
The wifi costs 2 Euro
The room is clean comparative to other hostels in Northern Europe.it's located in a quiet place. The bus stop is near to the hostle and there is a direct tram from the central station to this place.
You can hear people talking outside in your room, but you can not expect too much with this price.
Good bed Morning sauna
The room was unclean ( hair, salt) The kitchen smelt terribly. We were at Eurohistel several years ago and they had the same problems.
I was amazed by the condition of the the facilities: very convenient and clean room for 2 people, good and clean toilet and shower, well-preserved kitchen, good location. Very nice atmosphere created in general. I will definitely come again.
My friend arrived earlier than me (at around 14-00), but she was not able to pay the whole sum straight away, so she paid for one day. I arrived at night, so went straight away to bed. The administrator, it was fine to pay the next day, but did not tell that the room would be blocked at 12-00. It was very unpleasant to go to the reception desk covered only in a towel with wet hair to ask to unlock the door. Please in future state clearly which payment options a client has in the booking reference. Second thing is the outlets on the kitchen. It would be nice to have some closer to the table.
Eurohostel based in Katajanokka - beautiful island in walking distance to the city centre: Cathedral, main railway and bus station, museums, port, shops, main streets of Helsinki. Katajanokka has great architecture and atmoshere, so this place is very interesting to visit. Public transport (tram) and supermarket also easy to get near the hostel. I think, Eurohostel suits to picky unsophisticated people, purpose to spend time in the city, without kids.
Rooms are as easy as it's possible (look like student dormitory). Kitchen is very gloomy, not enough clean, microwave is broken, all furniture old and need to be update. Ladies room was poorly cleaned. Generally, you feel every euro you have paid and pity you didn't find another place.
the price matches the service and the accomodation.
I don´t have anything to complain about.
high quallity/performance ratio clean silent near the 4-tram line
wifi price room should be warmer
Location, It was the cheapest place in Helsinki to stay
Very dirty, the walls in the rooms are too thin, you can hear every sound, Lack of cleaning in the common bathroom, Yes, this is the cheapest place in the city but definitely too expensive for the comfort it offers
