Score from 488 reviews Very good
Room was warm and quiet. I stayed in a 2-bed dorm which had its own bathroom and a kitchenette. Beds were comfy, with a soft blanket and a nice pillow. I liked that everyone had its own bed, not the bunk bed you usually find in a dorm.
Breakfast was not included in room price, and there was no wi-fi in the room itself. Yet there was wi-fi in the common area, and it worked fine.
clean, well maintained, mattress is comfortable, location is good, price is moderate compared to hotels network cable can be hired from reception and provides a very fast internet room was spacious - but there seem to be smaller rooms also which might be too tight
this is a hostel for a hotel price breakfast ist very basic only no kingsize beds
Big room. Friendly staff. Good facilities
i did not find any other place in Helsinki which was centrally located and still affordable Mattresses are good - not to hard, not too soft Room was big enough (but there are smaller ones which might be tight) Internet in the room is fast when borrowing a LAN cable available at reception for a small fee the hostel is well organized and well maintained and everything was working quiet location, no traffic noise
its a very good hostel but still a hostel only with limited service and simple functional interior - for a price where in some other cities one can get a hotel (but not in Helsinki as it seems) only single beds were available Breakfast buffet is very basic only Kitchen has no tools, not even pots (but as far as i understand one can borrow at reception)
We stoped there for one Night. Check in and moving to the room was very fast. Question get be answered very well by the staff.
Very nice and helpful staff. Good location, you can reach all main tourist spots and many of the cities museums by foot.
Internet on the rooms is only available via cable. This is not such a big deal but the plug for the cable is "somewhere" in the room. The staff does not know where exactly. Using mine required me to crawl under the bed.
free morning sauna with a swimming pool!
wifi was available only at the lobby.
Rooms clean, bright and comfortable. An excellent opportunity to get acquainted with people from all over the world. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the place is in a great position, close to Central Station (10 minutes walk) and places of interest.
In the room there were no facilities to prepare meals but only the kitchen and this is uncomfortable for those who do not wish to eat out
Professional helpful staff Very Secure Great Wifi
No drink machine No TV
Very clean room. 2 people in one room.
I am HI hostel member. But I didn't get the advantage(10% discount) of HI members. They said "We don't discount price by booking through Booking.com" If I knew it, I would book at HI hostel site not Booking.com.
Nice stuff - I got lost on my way and had to call them twice and got very patient directions.
A loud party in the corridor
I enjoyed the location and the facilities around, such as supermarkets and tram and bus stops.
There is no wifi in the rooms!! Wifi at your disposal only in the reception and the net is really weak, because the hostel guests try to connect at the same time their own devices.
I was supposed to share the room with some more girl but was given a room just for me, although in another building with no wi-fi.
I was sent to a different building which had no wi-fi. The use of the sauna and swimming-pool was from 7:00 to 8:30 for women and from 8:30 to 10:00 for men.
The breakfast is good! Rooms are clean and well-organized. Building A is far but the rooms are big.
It was a big problem that only in the lobby can people get wi-fi, and it's also spotty. We had projects to complete so it was really difficult. Also hard to get in touch with people.
We have loved this hostel. We got the twin room, with kitchenette (incl. fridge) and private bathroom. As you would expect from a Nordic hostel, the room had very simple but very very comfortable features. It was warm and cozy and we would certainly recommend for everyone. breakfast is great.
We loved it, but still a bit to expensive and of course... check-in at 15:00... what an absurd! But the rest... just lovely.
Rooms where big and had a view. Location was good. Service desk was extremely helpful and patient with many questions.
The only wi-fi was in the lobby area, not the rooms.
The breakfast is good. The location is relatively convienent and very quiet. Generally speaking, it is ok for us.
Wifi is not very effective which is only available in the lobby but often failed.
The silence and the place for cooking.
There were some minor things that were broken.
Scraping the barrel.. Good lift access..not too far walk from main city centre
Hotel charged me to book a taxi, charming! All the maps and info was only in Russian. Kitchen facilities average but no cutlery or kitchenware..had to travel down 6 floors to find some stuff then carry it up Sauna open everyday for women from something like 7-9 and for men 9-11 so women have the earlier slot..EVERYdAY! Cleaner decides to hoover right outside the room..at 7am :( Corridors looked like prison blocks Room was by a lift and it was not refreshing to hear the bing at all hours! The stay was far from value for money, such a shame :( Staff found it very painful to be of any help at all..giving vague and incorrect instructions and literally made it look like smiling was illegal. The common room was depressing..everyone there so use free wifi..not to socialise in any way..silence..felt like a library.
The beds were clean and comfortable, the location is near the centre.
The towels were stained, no soap was provided, the curtains were dirty, the lift to our floor didn't work and we had to walk along corridors and up the stairs, no secure luggage storage facility was available.
1. Door in the corridor was broken and hard to open. 2. Our door to the room had no handle from the outside, so it was pretty unhandy to open the door by pulling the key. 3. Shared kitchen is small and almost always crowded. 4. Although we had a kitchen stove in the room, there was no pan/pot/cup to simply boil the water.
It was cheaper than most hotels in Helsinki. Good size and clean ensuite single room which included a kitchen! I will probably stay again if I come back to Helsinki
It would have been good to have a bathroom mat and a few basic kitchen utensils like a cup and cutlery
It's not far from the main squares, even though it would be better to take a tram to reach the centre. Staff is very kind and they will answer you about any of your questions
kitchen in the room; refrigerator;
Wifi did not work always
