the location is very good , it's near to the attractions and the port of viking line and Silijia line. The staff is friendly ,helpful and thoughtful, they have free tea ,coffee and milk for guests, I feel very warm!
Great location, friendly staff and reasonably priced.
Main doorway a bit narrow to navigate through with the suitcase
The location was interesting, and Wifi worked like a charm. Small kitchen with free thee, coffee, cookies. Nice style elevator... And of course the price.
Not easy to find, located on the 5th floor of a big building. Only small sign next to front door. Toilet and bathroom clean but very old. Bedroom (single room) next to balcony where smokers had their smoke. Luckily not a lot of smokers around. Reception just a desk in a corridor, apart from when I checked in, never seen anybody around.
Very good location near of centre
Thin walls, so I could hear everything in the near rooms.
Very kind staff Good dining room
One WC on floor
Very good place (next to Helsinki Cathedral) Relatively cheap Free coffee in morning
Shared bathroom and shower
It seems staff is not always in concierge room.
the situation is amazing, the service offered is just what i was looking for. It is very simple but very clean. A little balcony for smokers or to have a coffe out is great. highly recomend it if you are lloking for value and good location which is rarely offered together.
it is a bit noisy around in some rooms but most of them have a coridor which makes the noise disapear.
The lift - its amazing like from the movie The whole atmosphere of the house built in 1902 Very good location - across the Helsinki university 5th floor balcony allowing to look around the roofs Very friendly and helpful personnel
I think the room we took need some renovation
The Kongressikoti is in a really central location, excellent for sightseeing and for access to the railway station. The accommodation is basic but clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall it represents good value for money.
I arrived in the middle of a heatwave, so the old-fashioned rooms and lack of air-con were a little bit of a drawback! But that doesn't happen very often in Helsinki so I wouldn't make too big a deal of it.
Noisy, old, beds are not comfy
Hot in room- no fan. Had to open window for air but there was a balcony right there where people smoked. Little privacy.
I liked everything
Location was excellent
Very hot and humid in the room at night, for breakfast only coffee, expensive
The location is near to the train station, a few minutes' walk. The stuff is very friendly, and there is some booklets with travel information in Helsinki.
The hotel entrance is bit difficult to recognise
The staff was lovely, the rooms clean and the location and price good.
Noisy revelers in another room. Fitted bottom sheets would also help.
shared shower and toilets
Service was very good, location cannot be better. Very simple but clean and practical. A real willing to make you feel happy of your stay.
Having to have the keys constantly no to be locked out of the room.
I was put into a really small and badly equipped room with one small window overlooking the hotel's only smoking balcony, so that guests who came to smoke and talk, throughout the night, disrupted my sleep. After requesting a reallocation, I was given a nice, proper room. I think that there are rooms in this hotel that should either not be used, or rented out at a much cheaper rate than the other rooms.
old charming facilities, everything is functional.
Loved the corner room we were given and the little balcony to have breakfast on. Staff member that greeted us was very helpful. The ancient elevator and use of a kitchen was a quaint surprise.
Did not appreciate being charged 2 euro/bag to store luggage at the end of our stay. We were looking for a hotel lobby & found it difficult to locate - It is part of the top floor of a secure apartment block & you need to buzz to gain entry.
Unlike other reviews, the wifi strength was perfect. I needed to work in my room during the day and feel free to come and go without any fuss, the place was ideal for that. Also very clean, bit dated but that gives character. Nice view from my room, which overlooked the university. Staff very friendly.
I can't think of anything. maybe this: I would not have liked the single room near the kitchen (near the balcony) for working in during the day (i'm sure sleeping is fine), but all other rooms I would really recommend for the space and view.
location was great! Staff was very friendly.
bathrooms and showers were very dirty
