Omena Hotel Jyväskylä  

Hotel was really nice, room had plenty of space (at least when not opening up the lego-chairs). Basically it offered more then we were expecting considering there is no reception and no staff around. We had no problems finding the entrance - it pays to closely look at the hotel pictures on booking.com. That there is no parking available is a bit off-putting, but found a parking area nearby and it didn't cost a dime for the Sunday night. Though hotel could make a deal with nearest parkhouse to get parking for the guests for reduced pay.

Didn't hear other guests except when they were walking in the hallway - and it was quite annoying at 3am. Hotel should put carpet there. Would've been nice if information about available public city parking was on hotel's webpage.

Tea/coffee are included in the price. Good location.

A hotel without reception desk, even less a bar or a restaurant, is something you have to get used to.

- Fortunately we got a really huge room (a room for disabled people - actually I never seen rooms equipped with all necessary stuff for them - big respect to Omena hotel that they have such rooms); - Calm and peaceful place to stay; - In the real center of the city; - A lot TV programs; - Free Internet access;

- no car parking though they have some area on the territory (in Jan 2013 it seemed to be for stuff's cars only), though again you can keep your can in the nearest street (for few Euros from 8 in morning till the time you leave) or there are few private parkings (as far as I remember it was 12 Euros per night).

The location was brilliant. The room was nice and comfortable.

I stayed their for 4 days and there to was no place to throw the trash.

Location. Jyväskylä is a nice place. Especially walking around the lake. Micro was useful. Has a tv.

Where to start. The Hotel is unmanned ie. You get a code to open all the doors. It feels a bit insecure but we didn't lose a laptop so maybe it is ok. We booked as a couple with one child. There was 2 single beds and 2 sofa chairs. The chairs converted to beds. They were very hard. Even my son (who is 7) commented after one night's sleep. All the bedding for the chairs was unmade (maybe that is fair enough) but the pillows were also and both had recent stains on them. Made me sick. I can't really say what other hotel pillows are like (as they are normally made up) but if you can see the stains then I would have thought they should be washed !!!! The Shower room was ok (felt like a ship's) but poor design so let water everywhere. I live in Finland so used to quite high quality hotels and facilities and this let it down. The room's bin was hanging next to the head of one bed (mine) .. 'hello' has anyone seen a bin right next to the pillow of a bed before.. 'Nice'. Small fridge was good if not very small. We paid about 3-4 days in advance so paid €75 per night (compared to advertised €45). Nearly a 4* Hotel rate and this felt like 2*! No parking so we parked in some car parks. Got a parking ticket one day, so nice that the Hotel is central but has it's downsides. Finally the corridor wall (all rooms were off one corridor) was as thin as lettuce. So every 30 mins in the night when the drunken kids came in to drop, you could either hear them singing, shouting or banging their feet on the floor. So if you want to have a good sleep then don't stay here! You have been warned :) Finally when we were leaving there was a nice used condom on the floor next to the lift in the morning. Would I stay there again .. er nope. Sorry.

It is hard to find the entrance. You need to keep mind to watch E-mail from Hotel to get Password for room key.

It's a good option if you want to stay well located and pay a good price.

The facilities are very simple.

Great location (close to the train and bus station - 5 mins, close to the city center - 7 mins); tea pot, tea, coffe, sugar, microwave, fridge, tv - everything you need. Very clean. I can recommend this hotel with no doubt.

I missed forks and knifes (could be plastic ones at least).

Absolutely nothing!

Terrible rat trap with no staff at all. Drunken youngsters run and sing-a-long around the 'motel' through the night. Very tiny rooms with thin walls.

We liked the location of Omenahotelli a lot. It was a walking distance from the Univercity area and also close to the shopping & restaurants.

We did not like the parking situation beeing so complicated which made the unloading the luggages so difficult. I did not know that we were given an inva room. Lighting in the washroom was poor. The showering was a bit challenging because an open area to the rest of the washroom. Washroom was clean and tidy though. Hope they add and extra pillow/visitor. A bit difficult to find the entrance to the hotel.

Great, easy and a cheap way to stay at the centers of Finnish towns. Despite the low price the rooms are better, more spacious and have more facilities than most other hotel chains. Free wifi, fridge, microwave, tv, and all the usuals, clean and safe rooms and environment.

Excellent location, just blocks from bus/train station and walking distance to Jyväskylä's businesses and sites. Very comfortable beds. Bathroom should be equipped with squeegie because shower water splashes all over bathroom floor. Long hallways with laminate flooring are noisy; inebriated young folks like to play in them on weekend nights. Omena hotels don't have staffing, lobbies, lounges, or other amenities; they just function as a place to sleep. Overall a good value, comfortable, with free and reliable internet connection.

Great location, good price, all was great

It was a good value for the money and the room was very nice. It was the first time that I have stayed at a self-service hotel and I liked the concept. However, as my phone was not globally enabled I had trouble contacting the hotel for assistance.

As I was traveling and did not have access to the internet, I had trouble getting my room number and pass code. If it could have been sent further in advance, it would have worked better for me.

Huone oli suhteellisen tilava. Ovikoodisysteemi toimi moitteetta. Tieto muuttuneesta huoneesta tavoitti hyvin minut. Siivooja oli oikein mukava.

Liian pehmeä sänky ja todella huono tyyny. Kylpyhuone erittäin pieni ja kastui kokonaan suihkussa käydessä, sillä suikussa ei ollut suihkuseinää. Pyyhkeitä ei vaihdettu oleskelun aikana, vaikka likainen käsipyyhe oli jätetty lattialle. Lattiapyyhettä ei ollut lainkaan. Televisio rätisi ja särisi.

Понравилось всё,соотношение цена качество. Ни каких проблем не было.

Zcela nevyhovující přistýlky a málo místa pro tři lidi v pokoji deklarovaném pro 4 osoby.

удобное месторасположение, тишина и покой в номере, внимательный и отзывчивый персонал

хотелось бы что бы персонал немного владел русским языком (это скорее пожелание)

Systeemi toimi yllättävän hyvin ilman näkyvää henkilökuntaa.

Yöllä ihmiset liikkuivat ja metelöivät kuin päivällä. Outoa.
