The breakfast is not very good. As a vegetarian, I found almost nothing to eat. The salad they provide does not have any sauce not even some olive oil.
Absolutely the poorest hotell in Saariselkä. People come here for outdoor activities and there is not even a dryer for clothes. It was cold inside and no possibility to make it warmer. Too hard beds made my back ache. 100 meters walk outside for breakfast.
Appartement with sauna, nice breakfast, easy reach from airport and good for skiing hiking and other activities
Alcohol in Finland is expensive. The hotel has a sort of laser light at night on which northern light aurora hunters can see from miles away which shouldn't hurt anyone
I had booked for a four nights stay and to my surprise, for the money I paid, I got a full sized apartment with one large living room, small fully furbished kitchen and even a small sauna. Much more than I was hoping for.
Their excellent restaurant Kaltio opens only at 5 PM so it was a long wait. It would be nice to open for lunch as well or at least from 2 PM (for a late lunch). They another restaurant that is opened from 12 PM but it is not so high end.
Great location for skiing, restaurants close, clean
Room are from 1970's, quick update needed!
Excellent location, comfortable bed.
No wifi in room, very poor picture quality on TV. TV set was from last century.
Location is great in front of the cross country ski area and close to the village.
The hotel is run like a factory and it is continuously obvious that they try to save cost. Eg breakfast is very cheap and without much fantasy. Room is comfortable, but hot water is not always available, it was a very old fashioned building. The building on the picture on your site is not where we stayed, disappointing. The restaurant/reception building has a very uninterested admosphere - especially in the bar. And wifi is only available in the reception and even there is it often slow. Overall a disappointing experience.
We enjoyed the fireplace in our hotel room as well as the sauna. The location of our hotel was good and we found that the personal was very helpful and nice.
We didn't like the high prices for food and beverages but I guess its the same in entire Finland.
the hotel location is good
there is no tooth paste, tooth brush,
Convenient and good location.
No wi-fi inside room
--everything else, overall a great visit. --last minute booking deal excellent
--no kettle, insufficient glasses and crockery in kitchen. --no wifi or internet in the apartment. -- breakfast not as good as neighbouring hotel.
No WI-FI in living room
Friendly staff, location of hotel, beautiful nature and impressive buildings around
big, clean and comfortable rooms.
reception staff not very efficient.
Well this hotel exists of several buildings and the upgraded room in building Gielas was good, clean and worth 4 stars.
We booked a standard room and upon arrival we were put in a room that matches a 2 star hotel with bad beds and a heavy damp smelll and this room did not look anything as the pictures on internet, both booking.com and their own site! When we mentioned this we we heard that those rooms were their standard rooms and that we had to pay for an upgrade if we wanted another room. They get their 4 star status from 1 building, so beware what you exactly book!
Not too crowded, peaceful. Interior was nice too.
Staff wasn't very friendly, or maybe they were just too busy. No lactos-free milk available at the restaurant Pirtti, which was bad for a child with Chron-disease. Coffee/tea not available at the rooms, there was a kettle tho, you needed to buy them from the reception (quite expensive, 3€ for a cup) No bacon/scrambled eggs at the breakfast.
