Housed in a converted prison from 1837, this hotel is on Katajanokka Island in central Helsinki. It features a popular restaurant and rooms with a flat-screen TV.
Score from 1571 reviews Excellent
This modern hotel is in the lively Hakaniemi district, less than a 5 minute metro ride from Helsinki Central Station. It offers free in-room wired internet and sauna access.
Score from 1070 reviews Very good
Just 1000 ft from Helsinki Central Train Station, the Market Square and the Esplanadi shopping district, Scandic Marski offers free Wi-Fi, gym and sauna access and a popular breakfast buffet.
Score from 1194 reviews Very good
The hotel was a short walk from the Viking ferry dock, saving the cost of a taxi ride. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and spoke excellent English. It was only a few minute's walk to the central market and most of the major attractions.
Breakfast Helpful staff Free bikes available
Crowded lobby Really small and not comfortable single room for price. And besides, the room was smelly and the lookalike prison window gave a bad impression of it.
We arrived by ship from Stockholm, and the hotel is walking distance from the pier. Close to the main square and restaurants and tourist info office. Delicious hot and cold breakfast buffet and a nice big seating area as well.
Great location good breakfast
An interesting building but fairly functional. Not much character inside.
Excellent breakfast (included in the price); harbour location; high-speed Wi-Fi, which is essential for my travel, at no additional cost
Not much not to like. You might want to bring your own shampoo and soap/shower gel, since those that are supplied in the shower stall are generic and not really up to 4-star standard
Location, staff very polite, rooms
Very busy breakfast service
location is very good as we come in and go on the ferry and like to go to the market daily.
We weret here in your heat wave and the air conditioner was working pretty hard so it dripped on your furniture and our luggage...that has never happened before when we were staying with you but it might start happening more if temperatures keep rising.
Location Rich breakfast
Queue for breakfast
really nice location with a sea/port view... all the sights are 10-20 min walking distance nice cafe/bar with terrace - excellent when it's sunny weather :)
long queue on Sunday morning for breakfast
Breakfast in choice room was well sized for family bathroom too location nice near Orthodox Church and port close to city center and ferries for Suomenlinna
Crowed at breakfast time we didn't test sauna bar is open only at noon for expressos a pity as it is good ones
It's a comfortable hotel in a fairly central location if you enjoy walking a bit. Also close to tram stop.
It's such a huge hotel that you can't expect a quiet, non-crowded stay. The breakfast buffet was rather busy and noisy.
Dimension of the room, good breakfast buffet, friendliness of the staff at the reception, morning and evening sauna
Immense structure, rush hours in the breakfast room, no iron in the room (only for trousers), had to pay 1.50 euros for a cup of hot water!
Spacious room, quiet (no exterior noise and very little interior noise), decent pillows (for Finland standard), decent breakfast, helpful staff.
Poor wifi signal
Good location A/C
Spartan furniture Overpriced Parking fee If you find something like this in Central Europe and paid 50Eur you will be disappointed
Breakfask Quitness Location Staff
Too many dogs
The hotel is very close to the Viking Line terminal, so it's convenient for cruise and ferry passengers. You can store your luggage in the luggage room before check-in and after check-out. Good breakfast buffet (very crowded at peak times). On the harbor, close to the tourist market, Uspensky cathedral and other landmarks.
Being so close to the harbor, we hoped for better views, but the harbor view is blocked by the other building.
Perfect location on the Ferry harbor and centre of Helsinki. À beach is two Miles away. Delicious breakfast. Children free in the room.
There is no swimming pool
- location not far from city center - allows pets - free reliable wi-fi
- very poor choice for breakfast - tiny single room - not very clean (dust under the bed)
Clean, good welcoming, arranging staff, central, with a certain class.
The breakfast is a bit "industrial" and the products could be a bit nicer.
The room was very narrow. My room was on the second floor above the breakfast area. I could hear the sounds of dishes being stacked from below.
The location was excellent.
Everything was acceptable to us and our purposes.
- great location, close to the ferry and to most sights of the city - good choice for breakfast
- extremely crowded (we had to wait for the check in, for finding a table for the breakfast, for the check out) - staff is nice, but it is a kind of mass processing
The room was small, but very sunny, clean and nice! We had a view to the bay! The hotel is near the center (2min to the port, 10min to the center by feet). The stuff was nice, wifi is free, breakfast was very rich
Check your room card - we have one locked. Breakfast begins at 8, but better to come near 9-10 (less people)
