Scandic Kuopio  

Good swimming pool, that was open till 21.00 (on Friday), it was good for us because we arrived late. 15 minutes from city center by foot. Also goog gym.

There was some misunderstanding between my inquiry for booking and info that hotel recieved, it taken some time, but finally everything was ok and our freinds received better room than booked.

Everything was just fine! - good breakfast; - children playroom; - calm and peaceful place; - packing place on side; - not far from the city center; - friendly personal.

Nice and comfortable hotel with wonderful location near the harbour and overlooking the lake. Big rooms with comfortable beds, wooden floors and large windows. Great breakfast!

We took a double room with lake view which was spacious and offered very relaxing view of the lake Kallavesi. The room was spacious and had a big wall-to-wal window which made the view great but served as heat collector as well. We spent two days there. These days were really hot (24 degr Celcius) considering Kuopio's weather standards. The room at this side have all an eastern orientation, so every morning the sun rays hit directly the big glass panels of the windows and cause room temperature to rise noticeably. So what ? you may ask, we switch on air- condition and no problem. The problem is that the rooms have not air- condition, so the final result is a greenhouse effect in the room which makes stay in the room practically unbearable from 8.30 pm until late afternoon. I consider the absence of air-condition absoloutely unacceptable for a hotel of such a category and price. The breakfast was rich in variety but most food I tried there were tasteless and seemed at least neutral. Surely, the main issue was the high temperature problem in the rooms. If you visit Kuopio during summer days, stay away from this hotel. Some previous reviewers had warned about this but I (unfortunately) didn't take them into account. So, you have been warned...

Excellent position, central but very closets the lake harbour. Didn't try the restaurant though. Room clean.

Not much to say apart from that the hotel is located in the city centre in a close proximity to one of Kuopio lakes beach. I also found the restaurant menu (composed by Jamie Olivier) and the standard breakfast service worth of recommending. That was also one of only options for a family with two small children. Despite the next section with a list of cons, the value for money was actually quite good. In this case we got what we had paid for.

The hotel is quite dated. It appears to have been seeking for a proper maintenance and redecoration for years (perhaps even decades?). One example is that air condition/ventilation in the room was non-existent (not counting a small table fan). Then the old thick sun covers were full of holes and did not dim the room properly. I would thus not recommend the room for warmer summer days (when it mimics the sauna-like conditions). I tried the gym facilities too and that was not a positive experience either - most of the machines were lacking maintenance; besides (without going into details) quite peculiar selection of them. One small detail is access from the hotel parking yards to the building - you either climb with your luggage up a staircase or wander around the building to the main entrance (the only that is on the same level as the reception).

Good location near the lake, only a 5 minutes walk from the harbour. Free wifi everywhere in the hotel, free printing in the lobby

Staff told me the Piejo Tower was a short walk - it was nearer an hour.

Хороший отель. Парковка большая бесплатная. Отличные завтраки (и для взрослых, и для ребенка). Вода в бассейне была комфортной температуры (около 30), джакузи с теплой водой, ребенок подолгу плескался каждый день. Брали семейный номер, места достаточно, был холодильник с минибаром, чайник с набором пакетированных напитков, почему-то два фена. Уборки ежедневные. Расположен на набережной, что удобно для прогулок и от магазинов не очень далеко (минут 10 пешком). Осталось очень хорошее впечатление от отеля.

Все понравилось.

Вид и окружающая территория

Цена завышена и не соответствовала качеству услуг, в т.ч. состояние номера.

Приветливый персонал, чистые номера, наличие сауны с бассейном в гостинице, наличие детской комнаты с игрушками для детей, расположение на берегу озера рядом со спортивными объектами, бесплатный паркинг, WiFi. Очень понравилось! Приедем еще.

Hyvä palvelu sekä respassa että ravintolassa.

Jouduimme muuttamaan huonetta ensimmäisen yön jälkeen melun vuoksi, koska toivettamme ei oltu huomioitu, vaikka tilaa sillä hetkellä hotellissa olikin.

Хорошее месторасположения, пешком от центра 10 минут. Комфортный номер family roome, разнообразный завтрак. Отличный вариант для промежуточной остановки, останавливались по дороге из Оулу.

Hyvä saunaosasto ja komee talo+ympäristö.

Muilla-asiakkailla oli saunatakit talon puolesta, eise haitannut vaikkei mulle ollut riittänyt.?

Aamiainen ja erityisesti ruoka ja henkilökunta ravintolassa.

Ilmastoinnin putkiston puhdistusta ei ole tehty viimeaikoina.

Доброжелательный персонал, комфортный номер, тишина, чистота, отличные завтраки. Бассейн небольшой+гидромассажная ванна+ сауна всегда приятно поплескаться, особенно с детьми. Утром работает до 10ч, мы задержались минут на 20 - никто не выгонял.

В большом бассейне была холодная вода(около 20градусов)
