The baroque style Wonderful breakfast Comfy room
At no point before my arrival was I informed that the building was under renovation, that the view was blocked and privacy was possible by closing the curtains
everything, really. It was a piece of luxury after a very busy week.
Just like most of Finland, the price of a drink of wine!
For 250€ a night you can get: - not working elevator - no wi-fi at all - no porter, i.e. Bags to 4th floor by yourself - no room service - scaffolding in the window WELCOME))))
the location is good The staff are helpful
The room I lived for second time is quite small compared to my first time room. Besides, I required a quite room when booking, but when its around 7:00, the noisy came.
The hotel is dated but clean. The breakfast was great and the location can't be beat.
The staff were excellent, well informed, professional and always helpful. The breakfast was fantastic each day - wonderful range of fresh food. The rooms were spacious, clean and warm. Would rate my stay 10/10.
location is convinient, breakfast is good, the bad and pillows are cosy
the noise in the room from outside and from conditioning in the bathroom are awfull. I could not sleep. I asked for the courtyard view expecting the silence and it was my mistake. The street views rooms also cannot be quite as there are trams outside and quite serious traffic.
I arrive early on a Sunday morning after travelling form Australia. I had requested an early check in, and it was available when I got there about 8.30am! Very happy. the breakfast was also great and the rooms and hotel - very grand.
Nice classy looking hotel Breakfast good Wifi coverage good and simple to use Comfy beds Housekeeping does a good job
Hotel has a lot of tear and wear and needs to be refurnished. Bathroom bugs spotted on the floor. Sewage smell in bathroom and lobby bathroom.
Everything is excellent
Great location near the railway station. Gorgeous art nouveau building with stunningly beautiful breakfast room. Wonderful breakfast with enourmous selection of food.
We booked a double room and got a twin. We also requested different pillows as the hotels has 5 different ones. Did not get the ones we asked for. Showering was difficult as the shower wall in the hot tub was really narrow and it was tricky to shower without splashing the water to the floor. The old guy at the breakfast was unfriendly.
Big room Good location Good breakfast Elegant restaurant Classic decoration
Bathroom old and lack of maintainence No air condition (both warm and cold) I see a fan inside the room
All staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast was the best we have had and was included in the price. Very nice old character hotel. We were lucky enough to be shown around this lovely hotel by one of the staff, it was full of history and character that you just do not see anymore. We loved every minute.
Absolutely nothing that we did not like.
Great location and instituition hotel
The hotel was a great hotel and is need of renovation - the carpets are threadbare and it looks tired. The building was under scaffolding when we were there so hopefully it is getting a much needed renovation.
Location, connection, cleanliness
At 9am on Sunday, a horrendous wall-drilling begun, which made the room walls tremble. That was what was delicately called "a repair". So, for a guest who arrived there late on Saturday night, there was no chance to have a quiet Sunday morning. Not at all.
Very reasonable rate especially as Helsinki can be very expensive.Locality excellent especially for the bus/train stations.
Good old solid hotel with history. Central location close to most sights. Would suit older people. Elegant large art deco rooms and good bathrooms too.Very comfortable.
Current building work still going on, mainly outside . Hope it will be finished before next summer.
The staff were friendly and helpful
The room was far too hot, luckily a small fan was in the room which helped somewhat. The décor is tired.
the location of the hôtel, the size and the organisation of the room, the breakfast, the building in general.
no sauna, the way it was smelling in the bathroom.
Very close to the city center, very good breakfast.
Quite old hotel, currently on renovation. Please watch out because work starts from 9 so it's quite noisy.
Friendly helpful staff, perfect location for shopping and public transport, the business centre.Spacious dining room for breakfast.
The weather was very hot and the hotel did not have air conditioning. There was a portable electric fan in the room and industrial type fans plugged in along the corridor, which were really noisy so I found it hard to sleep for the four nights of my stay.In fairness Helsinki apparently does not have such hot summer weather.
1. Location 2. Rooms 3. Toilets 4. Breakfast 5. staff
1. It was very hot with no Fan or air conditioning.
Awesome location directly opposite the central train station. Close to everything.
No air-conditioning. I sort of just assumed it from the price but then again I guess it is Finland and cooling A/C is probably only needed for a month each year.
Rooms not worth of money. Old and worn out. Leaking pipes in the toilet etc. Breakfast table empty after 9.00 am and was filled only 10.00 am. Staff in the reception watching your every step in the evenings... Definetely not worth of the price they ask. No airco.
