In front of Helsinki station. Very close to post office. Connecting to Sokos Department Store and S-market.
The position of toilet paper. It's backside and too close to use it.
In the middle of Helsinki downtown, in front of the Central Station, surrounded by shopping malls and restaurants. Walking distance from the main touristic sightseeings. Comfortable bedroom and an amazing breakfast. Helpful and sympathetic staff.
Everything was perfect, I had no problems during my staying at Sokos Vaakuna.
The location was excellent we were able to walk everywhere in the city. The breakfast was excellent.
The room for 4 people doesn't match the website and the room was a little small for 4 people. The room was a little expensive but you have to expect to pay for the location.
When I arrived in this hotel I was amazed of the beauty of the big lobby. 1950's functionalism. The staff in the reception was so polite and helpful. I stayed in a single room in 9th floor with the windows overlooking the buzzling city. I also had my own balcony. Lovely. The breakfast in 10th floor was great. I will certainly be back in the near future.
One little thing. The tea making facilities in the room would have been lovely.
Bed was very hard Breakfast was somewhat disappointing
It's 100 m from the central station. Quite and cosy
Location Greatly preserved original 50s style Easy access to anything in central Helsinki
Lifts are small (from the 50s) Stairs to lobby are a bit tricky if with plenty of luggage
It's beautiful building and furniture. Excellent staff and location was great for families. I loved the Marimekko aprons the wait staff wore. Excellent everything
The room was huge and breakfast spread was excellent.
Friendly desk staff
Cleaners slamming doors
No words to describe about convenient location to access the central station and Finair-airport shuttle bus terminal stop, just minutes walk, or almost every interest points including harbour area are within walk distance. The room prepared is wide enough to spread large luggages, as well, simple but the bath room with a bathtub and shower is clean and well spaced. The restaurant located at the top of building provides good command of city view in sunset, and foods served are looked lapish originated, good taste and all can be justified with it's price. Above all I'm happy to see some lapish small dishes can be prepared for starters. enjoyable to have various starters at a time.
Though window is double glassed, the heavier traffics of cars and street trains were little bit noisy outside during late night. The steps at main entrance is strenuous to carry laggages up into reception floor. One services I would like to ask them at the restaurant was to serve Sparkling wine in a win cooler with ice and water.
This hotel is located very close to the bus terminal to the airport. During my stay, I could enjoy the Finnish sauna. And the breakfast is good enough.
Very friendly, thoughtful, and helpful staff. Very convenient location. Good buffet breakfast.
Position. Access to all transport could not have been better
I booked through you but I have friends who booked from the uk ,at the same time, for the same period. They shared a room , yet when their price in sterling was converted ,they paid about 2/3 the figure I paid. When queried with staff, the difference was shrugged off. I find it unacceptable that 2people sharing a room, paid roughly €200 less than I did
I love the presence of the water heater and the presence of tea, coffee, water and some fruit and a toothbrush and Map
I do not like the presence of whiskey in the room
Private balcony Well located for all activities in Helsinski My room was located in a calm area, I sleep very good Very good wifi connection, top speed Kind of nice retro room, I liked it and really felt like I was in a nice place
Breakfast! Not sure what they tried to do with the scrambled eggs ... Staff was ok... They wanted to charge me some minibar I didn't drink... Table and desk were not cleaned, marks on the bed blanket, marks on the carpet.
Finland and Helsinki but not hotel
Hotel which was very noisy, room unclean, poor breakfest
Fantastic location. Comfy beds and pillows. Exceptional breakfast.
Would have liked a coffee maker or kettle in room for early morning caffeine fix.
Nice, clean, modern room with a view on the central station. Despite being located in the busiest part of the city the noise inside was very minimal. During my stay it was unusual warm for Finland (over 30c) however no problem with airco I had a good sleep. Breakfast was on the 10th floor which gave a nice view over Helsinki. There's even an outside roof terrace.
Breakfast was pretty basic, not very special. But the quality was ok.
No coffee and tea facilities
Polite and relatively friendly staff.
The room was a little bit worn-out and lacks even basic things common for other Sokos hotels (like slippers, for example).
wifi need login again and password
Excellent staff, the furniture and decor is a classic of Finnish functionalist design from the 1930's. Don't be put off by the proximity to the train station - it is a clean neighbourhood. Top tip: request a room with an exterior view (there are some with interior views).
There is construction going on at the moment in the building - you could hear noises between 10am and 6pm. We were advised of this in advance.
