The staff The beach
The meals Too many children
Mana Island Resort was so well organised with lots of things to do. The staff are so fantastic! All facilities from entertainment to water sports and restaurants were great. It is a beautiful place to stay! Vinaka!!
The only criticism would be the size of the pool areas.
location, staff, activities
breakfast cost too much (non-buffet cheaper choice would have been good), in apartment the aircon the other apartments were using was very noisy (it was winter/June, not sure why others were using it) would pay for small villa next time
accomodation. Staff Location
Drink prices to dear
great place to stay
The crystal clear water The location (beautiful ocean sun sets) Breadth of activities
Nursery was under equipped with not enough toys Most of the resort was in strong need of a revamp
Great rooms, awesome beaches with great snorkeling. Free snorkel gear and kayak hiring. Good food in the restaurant and reasonably priced!
Come on, it's 2014- internet should be free!
The adult-only pool was lovely. The location of the bungalow was nice and the water sport activities were good!
The food was generally not very good quality and overpriced. It was quiet with little to do in the evenings -cable TV's should be provided in the accommodations. There needs to be more choice for dining.
clean sandy beaches good hospitality staff very friendly kids club very impressed with the activities they had
Very old resort no reception you checked in the main hall restaurant very poor service . food average swimming pool full of algae very dirty when the weather is raining the place gets flooding
Great family holiday, friendly staff and amazing location.
The atmosphere, the beaches, apartment 619, only 1.5 hours from mainland, Ratu kinu diving centre, sunset beach alone. snorkelling in shoals of fish 20 feet from the beach. Great place, nice staff and very relaxing and affordable.
pools could be better and cooler! Food in main hall was not wonderful. South restaurant choice doesn't change fast enough. All very small complaints though
The location was amazing. The lagoon was great sailing on the Hobby Cat.
There were bed bugs. A pest guy came around during the middle of the day - most likely at this time to avoid being found out by guests - to spray each of the rooms for bed bugs. My girlfriend now has been dealing with a rash from the bed bugs - as diagnosed by a doctor back here in Australia. Not impressed. The hotel did not mention a thing about this. To either warn us, or tell us that they were spraying insecticide in our rooms. Second, they did not offer a continental breakfast, just a full american breakfast for $35 FJ dollars. Personally I don't want to eat that much food and pig out on bacon and eggs. I would prefer just some cereal and a coffee. The food selection is lame. Why have pasta and pizza on the a la carte menu? Again, they are stuck in the 80s and 90s catering for fat americans. They need an overhaul of the menu to provide more variety.
Our bure had excellent unobstructed ocean views. They were able to give us two adjoining bures, so we were able to be separate from our adult sons, while still being linked. Also, the snorkeling was great!
It was inconvenient to have to go to the dive shop on the south side of the island to pick up snorkeling equipment, especially when snorkeling one of the other beaches. We couldn't keep the snorkel gear overnight, so sometimes we had to cut our snorkel short to get the gear back in time.
Bathrooms very cool in the bungalows
The only reason to go to Mana Island Resort is the reef. But what a reef! I've snorkeled in the Caribbean, Bermuda, Hawaii, Thailand and dived in all those places plus British Columbia, Florida, and Malaysia and the house reef off the north beech at Mana Island is truly world class. In terms of the resort, our accommodations were roomy and the ac was stellar.
Food was so-so -- about average for Fiji (not a destination for gourmands). The facilities in general were in need of a fresh coat of paint and some serious updating (unless you have a Jones for the '70s). 10 A.M. checkout is unreasonably early. Breakfast is not included in the daily rate. And their systems are archaic: if you opt for the meal plan, they give you a card and packet of papers you have to carry with you to all meals. Only one key (and meal plan packet) per room. Finally, they do not handle transfers -- that's up to you. In sum: go there for the reef and you'll have a good time; as a resort, there are better alternatives in Fiji to be had for less cash and inconvenience.
Kids ate free at the buffet Very professional Swimming pool when tide is out
Buffet was expensive for the cuisine available Staff don't listen to personal requests Swimming pool not very clean
variety of water sports
room is not clean
facilities need to be renovated.
location was gorgeous the snorkelling amazing
Staff assumptions as we were a Fijian couple and got asked at least 6 times over a short 4 night stay whether we were guests. Not all Fijian are workers and we are based overseas and found the assumption very rude. The place needs a revamp as the rooms were a bit 'tired'. The food is TERRIBLE and overpriced we ate at Ratu Kini backpackers as so did a alot of other guests, we met there!
The beaches are beautiful and the people are is lovely.
The dirt paths everywhere Dry grass areas Untidy 'jungle' like area behind our room Bats Our phone didn't work Cost of food and drinks The distance from our room to pool and restaurants
Thank you for giving us a wonderful wedding!!!
Some resort facilities dated. Accommodation options are quite expensive by world standards. Transfers very expensive.
