Mantarays Excellent snorkelling
Staff were clicky with some travellers Couldn't go fishing as not enough people Couldn't hear drum for dinner Bathroom was dirty and our door didn't lock
Food was excellent, and chef was friendly and fantastic.
Everything besides the food and chef was horrible. The staff does not care about the customer. They were rude and not cooperative. Every night they clear the bathroom lines through hoses. Our first night there, the hose that was located right next to our room cracked open, so we had bathroom sewage spilling everywhere, all night. Major health hazard. The room stunk so bad I was going to go sleep outside in a hammock, but couldn't cause of all the screaming drunk young crowd. This resort is all college kids basically on spring break. We felt we were in Florida during spring break and not in Fiji. The college kids were playing a drinking game at dinner one night and one through a drink at his friend. He missed his friend and got us. He was very apologetic and had the waitress send us a drink to make amends. The location is very, very, very windy. We could not lay out on the beach because we were getting sand blasted. When wind and sand is that strong the sand really hurts when it is sand blasting you. This was the worst resort I have ever been to. It pretty much ruined our trip. It was so bad we were going top forfeit our $1,000 dollars and go to a different resort, but there was no availability at the other resorts. When I was in the office to buy sun block there was another couple that left for home 2 days early. We talked to them and they said they paid the extra airline charge to get the heck out of that dump we were at. If you want a beautiful resort with a great Fijian experience go to the Octopus resort. Octopus resort was a 10 out of 10.
- dancing with the mantaray - very good dive teachers - amazing snorkeling point - good chief
- bures are a bit small - not intimity for couples at the restaurant
- pretty bungalows - good food - clean
- compared to other ressorts a bit overpriced - value for money - staff not very friendly - no keys for bungalow
Mantaray ticked all the boxes for a holiday that was a bit different. Swimming with the mantarays was a highlight, everyone was friendly, and Maddy the chef did a fantastic job. Bure on the beach, and lots of young people. Different to a resort, but really great.
Great location, swimming with the mantarays was fatastic! When your hear drums from the beach, go to the beach and there's a boat that brings you to the mantarays in 5 min. Jungle bure was great, just in front of the beach not really luxery, but you don't it. Staff was really great.
There are a lot of backpackers at the resort, so you eat at large tables.
The location was perfect for amazing reef snorkeling in a conservation area and all the people staying at the time were great fun and friendly. The jungle bure is beautifully located right on the waters edge
Food was not prepared in the cleanest way. We had steel wool in our pasta dish and the Flavour wasn't great for the price of the meal plan. However it was good food compared to most back packers
No words can explain how great it was!!
Staff are very enthusiastic, and focused on the customer experience, very concerned about the safety of patrons and for the protection of the marine environment marine organisms. Room was clean and tidy, reasonable furnishings, the environment is very comfortable.
Toilet was a bit shabby, if it can increase the flushing facilities, or to introduce more advanced toilet, that's perfect.
I'm a mother traveling with my adult daughter and I had researched our travels on Trip Adviser. Mantaray Resort was just as it was depicted and exceeded my expectations. The staff are genuinely warm, welcoming and relaxed offering every assistance to ensure you enjoy a wanderful holiday. We loved the close proximity of all the resort amenities ie Kyaks, the most beautiful ocean and wanderful reef for easy snorkeling. The organised night time activities were great for getting to know people as was the fabulous communal dinning. We thoroughly enjoyed all meals @ Mantaray.
There was nothing we didn't enjoy! 4 nights was not enough for us. We enjoy camping so self composting toilets were not a problem, they are kept very clean and neat.
Great atmosphere and staff! Perfect diving opportunities, even for beginners who can go shark diving already on the second dive. The food was amazing. On the first day a sushi buffet with freshly caught fish was served! Fun games and good party atmosphere in the evenings. Best place in the Yasawas!
We stayed in a Jungle Bure which was amazing! They're on the beach, have their own bathrooms and are truly lovely and relaxing. You even get your own beach loungers. One of the highlights was the staff and the food. Everyone is lovely there, and all meals were really delicious! Lots of options for those that don't eat red meat also - loads of lovely fish :D The resort is situated on a marine reserve and you have your own coral reef right off the beach -amazing! Plus you get to swim with the nearby Manta Rays - truly a magical experience.
I think cleanliness could be slightly better, as I don't think things are always adequately cleaned.
Nice spot good reef good staff
Way too expensivefor what it's is even the food is not too good especially the breakfast blue lagoon and octopus do way way better for the same price
Nice people and nice food
The staff were so attentive, actively involved, friendly and just really good company! We ranged in age from 26 to 65 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves (once the elders got over the shock of the eco waterless toilets lol).
The insect bites!
Staff is just amazing, Paradise in earth
The coral reef and free kayaks.
The food for a comparable price at a previous resort was far superior to this resort. The food was hit and miss and not to a good standard for the price. My wife and I got a stomach bug here and several other people in the resort had the same problem. Was this because of the drop toilets or the food, it's hard to know. Most unfortunately the Australian staff member became aggressive with two people after drinking excessively. This put a real dampner on our stay here. We most definitely will not be returning.
Amazing location, great and helpfull staff, I mean all of them were great, friendly, helpful and very pleasant, especialy manager who did up great the accommodation for us for no extra charge. Thank you to all of you guys, it was a very pleasant stay. Martin@Iveta, Czech Rep.
Location location! No photos I had seen did this place justice. Postcard paradise !! The staff were fantastic! The diving was unbelievable and support was awesome especially for our group who all completed our diving certification for a super cheap price. The jungle bure was defiantly worth the money!! I would strongly reccommend spending a little more. You have your own toilet and own private spot on the beach and reserved beach chairs. Parties were great at night with most of our group partying until 2am if not later. The staff were great at getting people active and taking care of everyone making sure they made it home safely each night. Staff so friendly and we were sad to say good bye. Can only say positive things from this resort. Fantastic !!!
Nothing to complain. Some our our group experienced a bit of fear using the enviro friendly "drop " toilets. But worth it to have our own in the jungle bure
This was the most fun resort ever!! Everyday really good volleybal!! Amazing funny staff. Really cool atmosphere and really nice young people!!! Had loasd of fun! It was amazing! The outdoor showers are really charming and the view from the dining hall flawless.
The dorms could be a little nicer. It is too hot at night and you feel kind of suffocated with just the fan a tight mosquito net. The toilets were also a little far from the dorm, so that was a little bit annoying.
Absolutely loved every minute of this holiday, from the snorkeling right off the beach to the sunset tube cruise and the amazing STAFF! Can't wait to go back!
The food was magnificent. So much to choose from and restaurant quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The Tree House Bure was in great position and comfortable for our stay. It also had a balcony that was great. Shared facilities were close by and clean. The array of coral and fish at the front of the resort was very good for snorkeling.. We loved our stay there and would highly recommend it to others.
Snorkeling is by far the best in Fiji. The diving is also much better than in any other resort. Staff is extremely friendly. The diving master that guided me, Atu Kele, is by far the best one I have ever had. Not only super nice and friendly, but also very professional and responsible. I felt that he enjoyed diving with tourist, showing things to them. I did not had this feeling with the rest of dive masters in Fiji, as they do the same dives every week and the look a bit demotivated sometimes, not understanding how incredible is for people like me, who is waiting all his life to dive in such an amazing place. If you go there, ask for him. This resort is probably the most appropriate in Fiji for divers and young people.
Facilities are not the best in Fiji and still the price is similar to other resorts much better equipped. Mosquitos in Mantaray island are really tough when the sun is gone.
Snorkelling with the Manta Rays just magical. Best snorkelling right off the beach. Friendly, helpful staff. Good food.
