This is a unique place to stay. The building is like a preserved museum piece with beautifully quirky large rooms and excellent facilities. The staff were warm and friendly and the location in the heart of Honfleur is excellent.

This is a lovely Chambre d'Hotes, in a beautifully restored old building around courtyards, decorated in French country style, and very chic. It is very close to the town centre and picturesque harbour, but is quiet and peaceful inside. The breakfasts are quirky and delicious - home-made cakes & chocolate mousse, as well as artisan breads, cheeses and home-made jams. The staff are friendly, very helpful, and available all day. The bedrooms were comfortable, warm, very pretty, with en suite showers with loads of hot water. We went with our teenage daughters who also loved it. We will stay here again. Parking was a bit of a challenge, as it is in one of the small cobbled streets of the town. There is local free parking over the road, usually full, and a reliable car park (free) about 5 mins walk away. The staff gave us a map and marked parking on it, which made it easy to find. If you have difficulty walking, the stairs are quite uneven, and you would need to specifically request a downstairs room.

Old authentic house with lots of charm and all necessary facilities. Service friendly and efficient. Eco food. Excellent location. The stairways to the upper room was very tricky - not suitable for aged or people having any problems of equilibrium.

We were warmly welcomed and given a bigger room than we booked because we were the only guests that night. Our room was a delight with lots of space and interesting artefacts from the old school. We loved the cats leading us to our room.

Bio products for breakfast. Very cold and fast welcoming, WiFi available only in the main area and not in the bedroom, although written in the facilities. Not suggested in the winter season as the only heater wasn't enough to reach a comfortable temp. (Max 18°), so the bath was unusable. Too expensive for the that kind of service.

The location of the Chambre in Honfleur was very good - easy walking access to restaurants etc. The 'rustic' feel of the accomodation was why my wife chose it and it was certainly rustic, with mismatched and cracked china etc. No greeting on arrival, in fact the door was locked,(even tho we had advised our time of arrival which was late afternoon). When contacted by 'phone, owners could not speak English. Fortunately a member of the family let us in and sorted parking, bags etc. (he was very charming with a smattering of English which combined with my wife's smattering of French worked) but, apart from a hello once or twice, we didnt actually interact with any of the staff until the day we checked out, and that was to pay the bill. The entry and exit door was a real doozy - took brute force to lock after exit.Parking was chaotic and the slimy cobblestones not for the faint hearted - even with all due care,my wife took a tumble that resulted (as we found out on return to WA) with a broken rib. Having said this, we both enjoyed Honfleur and the surrounding areas very much and plan to return, if not to this accomodation.

Warmth and beauty of the interior design, added to the kindness of Silvia, the charming hostess make you feel really at home. Home made pastries are delicious, do not hesitate to have an afternoon cofffee or tea by the chimney.

What a wonderful and charming B&B. It was located within a half a street away from the center of Honfleur. Sylvia, our host, was very accommodating and made our stay welcome and enjoyable. We stayed 4 nights and would have stayed longer but had to return to Paris. It was exactly as it was portrayed on the internet. My wife and I would definitely return in the future. I can't think of anything we were unhappy with.

This was an uniquely French hotel. It was full of character and charm. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was exceptional. The location is great at it is literally around the corner from the main harbour of Honfleur. If you dont like cats this probably isnt the place for you. We liked the cats. We had parking in the small lot across from the hotel. As we were leaving on Saturday morning we were blocked in by a market traders van for over an hour. This was not the fault of the hotel but is something to bear in mind on market day

We have stayed in many parts of France but the accommodation at L'Ecole was the best!! We loved the style, the space, the location and everything about it! It was like opening the door on the street to a wonderful surprise. Thanks for a lovely time and we were pleased to be able to practise our French both in the L'Ecole and in the towns we visited. There was nothing that we did not like!

The off-beat, querky nature of the hotel. Lots of old woodwork around as part of the structure, but with modern plumbing and comfortable beds. A very short walk to the Honfluer harbour. Some of the stairs were a little awkward (and outside in the courtyard, so can get wet). Anyone with walking difficulties should request a ground floor room.

We liked the charme of the house, the unusually nice type of rooms, the two friendly cats greeting us, the nice type of breakfast and the whole athmosphere of Honfleur and this house, centrally located. The slippery staircase when there was a light rain falling down. It wasw a little cold in the room in mid September but a hot bath gave us a new life back again and we felt young again.

After the inauspicious arrival the wrong way down a one-way street, the staff quickly disgo rged our lugage and sent us to a parking place verynearby. The courtyard was stunning with a lovely bucket of flowers on the table and lots of colourful plants around. We were led up external stairs to a wonderful room in the roof space with a patio doors onto an area with table, chairs and sunloungers. The building was quirky and very old, as were the beams in the room's roof and walls, Everything else was of a very modern design - the most comfortable bed and a large bath. It was just around the corner from the old harbour (with loads of retaurants) so location perfect. Just wish I had read my booking form properly because we could have booked dinner when we reserved. We could see food was being home-cooked when we arrived. Breakfast was fantastic - a Norman treat - homemade preserves, cakes, tarts as well as yougurts, cheeses and pate and the bread was still warm! Wish I could have stayed longer. Want to go back. Will be recommending it to everybody. Best place we have ever stayed in in France!

Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere . All queries were answered and nothing was too much trouble. Bespoke pic-nic available on request was fantastic, as was the breakfast. Parking was slightly problematic but probably wouldn't have been an issue out of high season. Some sort of indication in the room of domestic arrangements I.E.breakfast times, late key entry and perhaps an emergency contact number, could have been helpful to those whose French was less than perfect!

We loved the design of the place... The rooms were very spacious & the towels & bed linen impeccable. The breakfast was good with plenty of freshly baked bread & the option of eggs on request. All in all a very pleasant place to stay & extremely central. The only disappointing thing was we could not use wifi though we were given use of a PC to make up for that. Parking was also a bit of a headache at times.

Very attractive courtyard garden, well decorated room and splendid shower. The breakfasts were delicious and could include cake. Staying in the courtyard room meant that our only access to fresh air was by opening the door so we slept with the house cat who would not stay ejected
