Location, location, location!! Its at the quieter end of Bv St Germain, only a short walk from the rer (direct to CGD/Orly airports), the Metro, and the Batobus, so getting around is extremely easy. There is a 8 a Huit opposite that allows you to stack the fridge in the room very nicely, a great Boulangerie with excellent sandwiches on the same side one block up, and an excellent cafe for breakfast, Cafe de Metro Place Maulbert (10Euro including an omelette of choice!). The room was big by Paris standards (this was our 10th trip), and the french doors with balcony views worked very well with the sunny weather. It has to have the smallest lift that we have ever been in, think shower cabinet and you'll get the idea, however it worked and it got you from a to B.

Location was great. Walking distance to the Notre Dame and close to the metro. Staff were very friendly. Windows well soundproofed. Construction right outside the front door was very loud. I felt sorry for the people working there.

Good location. Comfortable bed. Small balcony for air. Air-conditioning. Good reading lamps over bed. Good cupboard space and lots of coat hangers. Kettle and large mugs. Carpet was stained in many places. One reading lamp and one main lamp didn't work. Narrow, dark spiral staircase (with dizziness-inducing carpet!) and tiny lift.(We were on the 6th floor).

We've stayed at other hotels in Paris, but none have such a friendly, helpful front desk. This is the 4th and 5th room (we brought our parents this time) at the Hotel Abbatial St Germain and each time we've had the same great experience. The hot water kettle in the rooms for coffee and tea are a nice touch. The hotel is close to Notre Dame, metro, local market, shopping and wonderful local restaurants. We won't stay anywhere else!

Very good location for access to major sight-seeings. Many restaurants and cafe nearby. Hotel service is good. Easy access from CDG airpot by RER, and there is door to door bus service from hotel to airport. The room and lift is quite small for the price.

Friendly, helpful staff. There was always somebody at the front desk to answer questions and help with travel arrangements. Our room was done promptly and efficiently. The breakfast was great - a fine choice and good food. We were impressed by the sound proof windows and light-proof curtains, which made sleeping quiet and easy.

Great location. 2 excellent front staff who was helpful with hotel reservations, taxis. The room itself faced rue des Bernadins, quieter, a/C. Bed comfortable. Appreciated ability to make coffee in room. Very convenient location. Safe is small, and not permanently fixed (was just on floor of cupboard), so not very secure.

Some of the staff was helpful. One night man gave us the lead on the van service to DeGaulle which worked very well. One weekday person came quickly when we indicated that a "spot" was out in the bathroom. Poor guy seemed very overworked. The wait for a room seemed unnecessarily long. Asking people to wait until 2pm and even later seemed as though it were a somewhat arbitrary requirement. Other hotels apparently try to accommodate as many people as possible, by staggering making-up rooms so that the earlier people arrive the sooner they can access their room. The rooms were cramped. We stayed in 3 hotels during our trip and it was the worst accommodation of the 3 and the most costly. There seemed to be too many Indians and not enough chiefs. That is, Hotel Abbatial seemed poorly managed. Service seemed inconsistent and depended on the person at the desk.

Good, central location. Very small room - make sure you get a room with a balcony. Generally staff were helpful, except one night staff member wasn't too helpful.

Fantastic location. Clean but small room. Staff were extremely friendly and spoke good English. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel. Only complaint was that our room was on the first floor and close to a busy street. Traffic noise was very loud and did wake us up on several occassions. If you have the chance call ahead and ask for a room away from the St Germain boulevard. Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed at Hotel Abbatial three times previous to this visit. I was disappointed to note that the lift is once again out of action and we were on the fourth floor. Not too bad a problem for us, but last time we had mother in law with us. She would not have been able to manage the stairs. The breakfast was extremely poor and for 12 euros I expect more that bread and coffee. I will stay at the hotel again as it is a favourite but think they really need to get their act together regarding the lift and breakfast.

My room was spacious and very comfortable. I had two French windows opening onto a balcony and a lovely view to the Notre Dame towers, with a Pantheon peep as a bonus. Staff were always friendly and very helpful; they were multilingual and were patient with my attempts at French. The location was perfect. Within walking distance are Notre Dame and other attractions, metro, batobus, ATM, excellent local restaurants (incl Petit Pontoise), swimming pool, and shops selling great produce... This is not a criticism of the hotel, just a tip: if you are getting a morning Eurostar and want to take a taxi to the Gare du Nord, allow extra time. Taxis are busy, busy, busy in peak hour; the hotel could not get through to any taxi company on the phone on the morning I departed. Best bet is to walk down to the taxi rank near Maubert metro (just a minute's walk) and wait. You can practice your French on your neighbour in the queue.

Perfect location on the Boulevard St Germain just metres from the Notre Dame, the quaint streets of the Latin Quarter and St Germain de Pres. All the major sights are walking distance from this hotel and to cap it all it is right next to some sumptuous food shops and restaurants. Can't faul it would stay again.

Generally pleasant, clean and conveniently located for our short break. Possibly a bit pricey at the full rate, but good value through Booking.com!
