Set in an abbey dating back to the 11th century on the Loire River, and close the famous castles of the Loire region, the hotel conceals numerous architectural jewels like its façade or staircase. Rooms have queen-size beds, flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi access, refrigerators and the hotel has a parking lot. Hotel Rooms: 17, Hotel Chain: Chateaux et Hotels Collection. Wow! Who would have thought you could spend the night in such a beautiful historical building. Stunning! Largest rooms I have stayed in throughout Europe. Beautiful views. Staff were very welcoming. Lovely little town. The hotel staff recommended a restaurant nearby for dinner which was amazing! Would definitely go back! The stairs up to the room were challenging but so worth it!!!

Extremely friendly staff. Beautiful historic building. Lovely small town. Fantastic room: great size, excellent bathroom. Confortable bed. Great breakfast. Not much outside space. That the end price is much high then what appears on the page. You have to calaculate breakfast on the top, inclusive for a 9 year old girls that eats almost nothing at breakfast + the7% tax, the price for extra bed nor the extra bed! I know everyting is indicated on the page, but I just find it a bit excessive, specially as you have to pay at arrival!

This hotel is in a great location for investigating the Loire Valley and is situated right across the street from the river. It is charming and well done, everything that one might expect from a *** hotel, but better than many of the same rating. Messy bathtub (no curtain or door).

Great location on the banks of Loire in a very interesting old building - plenty of history in those walls and impressive for those looking for something really old. I found my room ok rather than good but my sister thought hers was a lot better.Great terrace to sit out on in the evening - or during the day - overlooking the river and the much repaired bridge. No restaurant in hotel and nearby restaurants maybe plentiful but standards varied.

The fact it was a former Abbey, made it more unusual. There was a recording of monks chanting as you went up the stairs which was very atmospheric. The lounge and the bar were attractively decorated. It was situated on a very busy junction which made it noisy sitting in the garden. The rooms could have been a bit cleaner.

We really liked the building itself, the layout of the rooms and the total ambience of the place especially the monks chanting as we went upstairs. It was beautifully furnished in character with the building. The setting by the river was perfect for long walks to see the wildlife and birds. The breakfasts were magnificent and staff were especially helpful and pleasant. Altogether a most enjoyable stay.

It certainly was grand! our 12 year old son loved having his own "department" with us being on a mezzanine floor above him. the abbey was situated on a busy main road at a crossroads junction. we felt like we were sleeping on a roundabout ! It was not the relaxing retreat I'd hoped for after 5 days of travelling. Also It was the Beaugency summer festival there was a band on stage til gone midnight literally across the road from us! Not much sleep to be had at all! Avoid Beaugency during August festival time!

the breakfast and the décor First of all, you -- Booking.com -- messed up the booking. We got to the hotel and they only had a room for one night, and that they'd tried to reach Booking.com to communicate this and never received an answer from you. After much fuss, we managed to secure a room for the other 2 nights we'd reserved, but we had to switch rooms at a time when we were very tired and hoping to have some relaxation instead of aggravation. Second, the hotel was extremely noisy - it's right on the main road, and there was a summer amusement park 30 meters from the front gate which made noise until 2 am.

The Abby was a beautiful building, the room was very comfortable and clean. There were lots of good restaurants within walking distance, and the town was lovely. We were there to visit the cheataus, and it was a good location for that.

A very charming hotel with lots of character. Great location right at the riverside and at the entrance to a lovely small town with lots of historic charm. A pleasant break after a long drive. Great breakfast with very good homemade and local food. Nice job of turning an abbaye into a hotel and leaving the character intact.

This place has a lot of charm. Walking through the stone hallway and candlelit stairs--plenty of atmosphere. Bathrooms appeared to be recently remodeled and well maintained. Breakfast buffet offered wide variety and good quality. Requests for twin beds were not followed up. Hotel corrected this for the 2nd night. Parking situation is not good--if you need to leave early, make sure not to park in lot that is locked and double-parked until after 8 am. Room safe did not work properly. The charm and atmosphere to some may seem too rustic and spooky to others.
