Very interesting building, full of old world charm, excellent food, though breakfast is French....cakes, bread and butter, coffee. Luxurious room. Grounds are beautiful. Room was luxurious but there was no shower, just a bath and that had a worn rough surface and the tap needed some juggling to get water from the right place ! But still a lovely place.

Excellent reception with very good personnel speaking various languages. Beautiful and spacious room with a romantic view over a pond with beaver swimming around and running on the edge. Very good restaurant with food of the great french tradition at a reasonable price. The service at the restaurant did not match with the rest of the establishment. Young and inexperienced waiters with a somewhat absent chef de salle.

The surroundings are beautiful The dinner menu given to the males had prices and the females were without prices the dinner staff was very formal and not very friendly. Check your bill carefully upon checkout

We used the hotel as stop-over en route back from the Dordogne to St. Malo. I specifically wanted a 'luxury' hotel in the Nantes area which was a good location, and to make it feel part of the holiday still, rather than somewhere just to lay our head on the way home. The hotel certainly fitted the bill on all fronts and really added to our holiday. Lovely, old-style chateau in a great location. The food was excellent, too. The only slight negatives I have were that the hotel staff were a bit distant/snooty - they could have defintely been more friendly. In addition, the whole place felt a bit 'tired', and could do with a full decoration/makeover.

bonne ambiance bon accueil belle demeure bon restaurant Supplément animal de 15€ pour être reléguée au 2è étage (2 grands étages de manoir) sans ascenseur; bonjour les bagages ! chambre jolie mais petite et encombrée sous les toits avec réception TV déplorable et sanitaires défectueux

Batiment plein de charme meme si beaucoup remanié et ajouté. Diner tres bon (Pet Dej pas a la meme hauteur). Personnel plutot jeune et gentil, si pas tres professionel. En cherchant "Comment se retrouver?" Le website m'envoyait a une page inexistante. A la Reception de l'hotel on me dit fierement "Meme avec gps on ne le trouve pas !" L'ancien monastere se trouve en plein champs au fond d'un chemin en terre plein de trous, sans aucun indication, meme dans le village le plus proche a 500m. Il se trouve a moins d'1k de 2 routes majeurs, mais signalé nulle part, et n'est visible que par ses illuminations le soir. Details d'entretien a verifier (example: le bouchon du lavabo ne remontait pas... Aucun étagere dans la chambre ou placard...)

A good if expensive restaurant. Very convenient for Nantes Atlantique airport. An impressive old building but not maintained very well and certainly not up to the luxury title it gives itself. Seems to be more of a wedding venue than a hotel.

Le cadre , le mobilier ancien ou copies de très bon goût, la gentillesse du personnel.A noter pour ce qui me concerne une innovation au restaurant jamais rencontrée ailleurs : la formule "forfait 3 verres "adaptés à chaque plat. Un simple détail : le vrai jus d'orange servi au petit déjeuner est tiède au lieu de bien frais... mais on ne peut pas leur en vouloir pour celà

De ligging van het gebouw, het gebouw (prachtige kamers,...) zelf evenals de rustige omgeving en natuurlmijk ook het uitstekende avondmaal in het restaurant. de bediening van het ontbijt op zaterdag was iets minder goed, verliep iets te weinig vlot omdanks de grote aanwezigheid van personeel.

its beautiful building, history, character and uniqueness. I thought the breakfast was basic for the price paid and more what you would expect from a B&B not from a very special place that the Abbaye is.
