What a unique place to stay and dine. The entry is amazing. I must have taken 10 pictures! Great winding staircase. Dinner and wine was incredible. Very friendly staff. Comfortable bed with quality linens. I will be returning with friends and family. Small room - although I was not in it long!

The Abbaye is very small with few rooms and run by a very pleasant family and staff. Make sure to pack light because there is no lift. Parking is a small walk away. We were very comfortable and felt privileged to stay at such an old historical location within the City of Beaune. The location is ideal for further country exploration and fabulous wine-tasting.

The staff were so friendly & helpful, particularly the owner. The room was very comfortable & the breakfasts good & dinners were excellent. Location was perfect for exploring the town & the vineyards in the countryside.A Very satisfying stay in a hotel with such history.Ideal for history buffs , gourmands, winelovers, walkers etc. Our son had spent his honeymoon in this hotel 6 years ago & we were delighted to experience the services it offers. I knew the rooms were on the second & third floors & there was no lift but I didnt realize they were winding stairs , but the staff carried our suitcases up & down for us. The parking was a walk away but was lockable . the owner drove us to it after our stay.

Bruno, the owner is terrific, very helpful and accommodating! The hotel itself is in a building that dates to the 12th century, but has none of the pitfalls you might expect. I would highly recommend it.

The abbey "cellar" where breakfast is served is a wonderful candlelight experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located/close to all town activities and a short drive to the countryside vineyards and wineries There are numerous stairs on two winding staircases (not a negative in our opinion but one should be in good health to climb them several times per day and to carry luggage). The room at the very peak of the house, the Panorama Room, has a loft where the beds are located and this set of stairs is very steep and difficult to use the handrails attached to the wall very closely.

The location next to the Basilique, the ancient vaulted cellar converted into a restaurant, and Bruno, the proprietor, who could not have been more helpful. We also liked the flexibility of check-out and breakfast times. The rooms are in need of some updating. Installing a shower curtain in the bathroom would also help. Most importantly, though, there is no elevator (not possible due to architectural quirks of this ancient building), which means having to climb up many steps to get to one's room. Not advised for people who cannot negotiate climbing up a narrow staircase for two to three floors.

Beautiful old building, full of character, pretty room, tastefully decorated. Very romantic dining room in the old abbey vaults. Beaune is a lovely town, and the hotel was in a quiet side street. The host was eager to please. Breakfast was good. The room was quite small, although adequate for a one night stay. The hostess was busy and so service was quite slow. Parking (@ 10 euros a night) was in a lock up garage approx.10 Minutes walk away - not too convenient in torrential rain. The stone spiral staircase to the bedrooms is medieval (we were warned) so no good for heavy suitcases. The food at dinner was not great, and fairly slow with only one person in the kitchen, and the wines are all 'vintage', which made dinner for 2 very expensive. Breakfast by candlelight in the vaults was a bit odd.

Charming, part-medieval building converted to hotel; low stone arched doorway: duck your head! Tight spiral stairs--must be able-bodied. Our small room was pretty with views of slate roofs and towers. Easy walk to cathedral, restaurants, market.Helpful front desk.
