Our room was very lovely, decorated with wooden beams and a French country sort of decor. The bed was among the top five most comfortable we've ever slept in in Europe! The bathroom was a bit odd, as the bathroom door panels were clear glass windows, which meant that anyone in the hotel room could see everything - and I mean everything - happening in the bathroom. It was just my husband and me, so it wasn't a huge issue...but still a little awkward!

Location When we arrived in the room...the tv was on and the bathroom was dirty... We also received an interesting phone at 8 o'clock Sunday evening ..the day before we arrived ...they wanted our private information about our credit card like validation code , card number, expiration date and name. The room I booked on this site was not written on the prices table from the reception desk

Almost central location, free wi-fi The room and elevator are very small. There was no place to put 2 suitcases in the tiny room, and to open them we had to put them on the bed, while other hotel rooms had enough space on the floor or on another surface. It was hard to move around the room because the bed basically takes the whole space. Also, we weren't able to regulate the temperature in the room. Luckily it wasn't cold this November in Paris, so we were ok without heat. Breakfast was very expensive 15 euros/person, so we bought it outside for 8 euros per person.

Its location in our favourite part of Paris - St Germain de Pres -makes it ideal for us. The room was large, well furnished and the en suite well equipped. Breakfast was wonderful.

Wonderful location in the Latin Quarter with easy access to all the main tourist attractions. Quaint, charming and clean. Rooms attractive and nicely decorated with very comfortable beds (twins). Would recommend the Academie Hotel Saint Germain without reservation. Only a couple knit-picky things....the seating in the lounge area is very uncomfortable and the lamps detract from the overall decor (they remind me of a tribal African headdress....got to go). There is a fabulous Italian restaraunt 30 steps from the hotel (Le Perron....highly recommend) which was not recommended. Instead a quite inferior Italian restaraunt was recommended (possible referral relationship?). Like I said, knit-picky...all-in-all would highly recommed the hotel.

Very clean and very convenient to most tourist sites and shops+cafe in the city... Room is extremely small and the shower is so tiny I couldn't even move without bumping to the wall and the door...

The welcome on arrival - the convenience of its situation which for this area of Paris would be hard to better - this was our fifth stay here and we knew of the standards which have been good Occasional evening staff on desk were glum and unfriendly

A pleasant, if small, comfortable room with excellent heating system which coped with the extremely cold weather that Paris was experiencing during my stay. The hotel is very close to the St Germain du Pres metro station which is on the line linked to the Gare du Nord and Gare du l'Est railway stations. It is in an excellent location and close to many of the tourist attractions of Paris. I was disappointed at the breakfast buffet which offered very little choice of food, including bread and rolls, for a buffet and was certainly not worth 14.50 euros per person. Breakfast at the hotel was admittedly optional and, had it not been for the cold weather, I would have sought out breakfast at one of the many nearby cafes on my second morning.

On the whole the Academie was an excellent hotel with good staff etc. however the only down side was the lack of tea/coffee making and possible provision of snacks etc. I know this is not always available in hotels etc. but I find these facilities useful.. However on all other aspects of the hotel I cannot find any major fault.

We liked the neighborhood near all of the shops on Saint Germain and the famous cafes. The staff was also wonderful, they were very helpful in pointing out nearby coffee shops and grocery stores (which can be hard to find!) This hotel is walking distance to many famous locations like the Luxembourg Gardens and Notre Dame. The bathroom was very small and outdated, out of three hotels we stayed at in France this was the smallest room and bathroom.

The location was very good. It had an elevator. The rooms were terribly small with no accommodations for luggage. The walls were paper thin and I could hear the room next door. If I would have been 5 pounds heavier, I would not have been able to get into or out of shower. It was very small and uncomfortable to use.

Wonderful staff, close proximity to the sights ,across the road from the Louvre an Notra Dam ,walked to the eiffle tower from here a bit of a walk but what views on the way .The charm of the little streets made the trip worth while. Shower over the bath ,who cares excellent value. Remember Paris hotels are expensive ,this is not and if you spend your time in the hotel and not enjoying the majesty of this city then you really need to get a life.

Although small (as expected in Paris) the room was surprisingly comfortable and very clean. However, clearly maintenance needs to be done, as part of the ceiling was coming down..... A little disconcerting to sleep under. Also, be warned that (in this room at least) there was no stand up shower and one could not stand up in the tub. While this is not that unusual, for the amount of money I made the assumptions that facilities would have been more "modern." Lobby and sitting room facilities in serious need of updating. But you cannot beat the location.

Little room but extremely well decorated, super clean and comfy bed. The hotel itself looks like most of the traditional hotels in Paris, but inside, it is where you will notice the difference. Very nice, well decorated. The hotel is 5 minutes away from the Seine, 1 minute from Boulevard St-Germain des Prés and 10 minutes away from the Mertro, so in other words, perfect location to go shopping, go visiting, or enjoying the athmosphere of St-Germain. We will go back there, definitely.
