Location is good, close to Massena Sq. And old town. 15 min walk to the beach. Terrible personnel and very bad rooms. Shower was leaking, very old and crowded room, stinking with sewage, very noisy from the street as in front of the hotel is residential building across the narrow street where living moroccans who listen loud arabic music all day long. Elevator did not work so had to drag luggage to the 4th floor. When tried to complaint to owner of the hotel that it was very hot and fan was not working she replied looking through the glasses and rolling her eyes that it's not 5 star hotel and what did we expect. Very rude and absolutely not friendly. SUch ppl should not work in hospitality!!!

Our second visit to Hotel Acanthe! The location of the hotel is excellent, just a few minutes away from the old town, the beach and the shopping streets. Public transport is nearby as well. The rotonde rooms have a great view. Ideal for a ladies' weekend 'low-budget-jet-setting' as we call it! No great luxury, but basic and clean; a delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Good value for money! We hope to come here again soon!

The hotel is very well placed, near the beach, Vieux Nice and Gare Routiere. The rooms are a bit small, but clean, the bathroom as well. WiFi is available for free in the lobby and it works fine. The staff was very nice and helpful. For sure, it is worth recommending.

There wasn't really anything I liked except for the location. Really close to the beach and bus station. I am not a picky person when it comes to where I stay. I stayed in a few other budget hotels while in Europe but this hotel was disgusting. There were bugs on the bed, the sheets had stains on them, the shower was so small that you couldn't turn it on without getting water all over the bathroom floor.

The hotel is extremely basic, but the location is great, and compared to other hotels in the area it is good value for money The bed was lop-sided and the shower head was broken so I had to hold it myself

The location was just perfect, just “a toss” from the Old Town. However, being there, we discovered that there were more alternatives in the same price range having air condition. The reception was nice (especially Cathrine). However, there was one exception, an older lady, often sitting there in the afternoons. She was rude and not nice/service minded at all. It happened twice that the room wasn’t fixed and no towels were changed. I tried to get an extra towel, but NO despite appealing!! The total grading was lowered due to this. The lack of air condition was very annoying. It was 28-30 c in the room. The high noise level from outside made it not too easy to sleep with open windows. Be aware of that the rooms are very small. I wouldn’t like to analyze the cleanness of the wall to wall carpet, it is better not to know…. The WC/shower was really a “slim line model”. You were better off using the towel outside after the shower. In one of the rooms there was a smell of mold in the wc (stayed in 2 different rooms). Moisture damages could be seen.

Only location is an advantage. In the center, next to transport stop going to anywhere fron airport to monaco, shopping & restaurants. 5 min to the sea. Dirty. staff didn't clean even once, tiny bath, almost impossible to turn around oneself.

The location of Acanthe is perfect if you want to be close to the beach, the restaurants and the centre of Nice. Being this close to everything though it is quite noisy but for our one night stay it was perfectly situated. The rooms are small and basic - it is worth the extra 4 euros for a rotunda room! It is noisy at night and the rooms could be cleaner (the carpet was very stained)

Location was excellent. We had a tower room and the view was just great. Reception and breakfast room staff were efficient & friendly. Nothing really for the price and location - couldn't do better.

The position is really the best for city visit and even close to the beach. Free parking righ in front of the hotel. The view from the windows was excellent. The toilette was small, but new. The room is quite small and not really clean.

Located in the centre of Nice, it is basic but clean, friendly staff and safe. If all you need is a place to sleep than this is fine, Easy Jet with older carpets.

The rondine rooms are nice with the french balcony and a good view (the higher the better, book in time if you want the top floor. A big mirror would a) have given more light in the room, and b) been appreciated at least when two ladies are sharing a room.

My fourth visit. Friendly staff. Excellent location and good value for money. Very warm nights on last visit and, with windows open, a lot of noise during the night from narrow side street

I was impressed with their cleanliness of the rooms. It is value for money and they provide straw mats, towels and umbrellas for the beach. The location is wonderful as you are 5-7 minutes from the beach and right in the middle of the busy city centre. The rooms were very small so more than a few days trip would be uncomfortable.

Location. First of all we booked a triple rom and we get a double one with extra bed which wasn't even a bed but a foldable thing that was falling down when you try to move it! All 3 beds where sticked to each other so no space to move at all. Luckily we didnt have much luggage. There were only 2 towels. We asked for 3rd towel to one recepcionist and when we came back no towel placed and we had to ask again to the 3rd receptionist we met in only one day! Not mentioning there were no shampoo or hangers. Night lamp was broken. When we wanted to pay, the 5th receptionist we saw there in 2 days, didnt have change and he even fall sleep and forgot to wake us up which could have costed us to miss our flight!

the hotel is in a good location close to the old town area and the beach We booked early in February and asked for a balcony. we were given room 47 which did not have a balcony. The room was incredably tiny for two people. It was difficult getting round the bed to the bathroom and to open the wardrobe. I feel that this room should only be used for singal occupancy. Staff were fairly pleasent apart from the older femail member who was very unwelcoming to the point of making you hope that she would not be on duty when you returned to the hotel.

Very good hotel, especially at this price. Excellent location (in the centre, 10 min from the beach, <5 min from Old Nice, 5 min from bus station, 20 min from railway station) and at the same time in a quiet street, not too noisy. Clean rooms and WC. Everyday doing up and change of towels. No problems at all with plumbing, water supply, lift, fan, TV or anything else. Personnel is very polite, well-mannered and complaisant. They speak English, French, Italian. We asked to substitute a double room for a twin one and it was done on the following day, in spite of high season. Bedsheets are not changed (they are clean though), beds are only tucked in. Maybe bathrooms are a bit too small, but for us it was OK (you spend there too little time).
