Hôtel Ellington  

We had a really nice stay at the Ellington. The staff was friendly and helped us to organize some trips to Monaco and Cannes, and in the evening we enjoyed sitting on the patio for some drinks during the happy hour before walking to the old town (which is beautiful!). Our room was lovely decorated and clean, the breakfast was great. We will recommend it!

Location was fantastic - was withing walking distance of train station (Gare Nice Ville), bus station (JC Bermond), old Nice, the port and the long beach (Promenade Des Anglais). TThe stafff at front desk were quite helpful in terms of navigating the city as well as figuring out trips to other places in the French Riviera. The rooms are quite comfortable and the hotel is also right next to a busy street (Avenue Jean Medecin) which was great for short walks after dinner. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to staying there again when I'm back at Nice.

Minor complaint - the "free wi-fi in the hotel lobby only" was a bit inconvenient. Especially when we quickly wanted to check email or weather reports after just waking up. Also the buffet breakfast was quite expensive (17 euros) so I suggest people find a rate that includes breakfast.

Room; large with an attempt of cute decoration but the carpet was old and stained killing the mood of the room. The bathroom is very spacious especially for european standards. Towels are like sand paper, very old, rough. Bed is comfortable. Ac is very inefficient, good thing we weren't there during the hot season. WiFi is only available in the lobby, free for an hour! For the rooms they charge 15euro/day. We got lucky and were provided with a complimentary pass for each day but still it wasn't clear whether the pass was for a day or an hour as it claims on the login tickets. Staff; very limited, although they seem intersted, they always direct you to the places with the hotel has an agreement. Not geniun at all, they seem to ignore the question and alway provide the "approved" answer, they can not give an honest answer, you feel there is a camera watching over them. Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again. Over priced, not enough ammenities to justify almost 200euro price tag and "4" stars! The building is old, spacious and nice but the interior arcitecture, design and decoration killed its charmed and it feels more clostrofobic and stuffy. Nice is a beautiful and very managable city, great food, definetely coming back, but might look into vacation rentals if staying 3+ days.

Situation géographique et parking à disposition

La responsable de l 'hôtel soit disant sophistiquée ! qui manque légèrement de classe en parlant à son personnel pourtant à l 'écoute, sans aucune retenue en montrant que c 'est elle qui ne peut pas tolérer...EN Tant que client nous n avons pas a entendre ce genre de RELATION...Décevant et désagréable pour tout le monde..! Dommage!!

Manque de chauffage, ces 4 étoiles très exagérées.

Encore un hôtelier qui n'a rien compris à... l’hôtellerie ! Un superbe hall à l'ambiance jazzy et des chambres plutôt bien décorées mais un double vitrage hyper bas de gamme et donc totalement inopérant. Etant donné que cet hôtel donne sur un boulevard très bruyant, descendre à l'Elligton est le meilleur moyen d'être réveillé à 5 H. Du coup, cela donne le temps d'admirer le beau siège de la chambre...

Das Empfangspersonal ist top und zählt zu dem freundlichsten was ich je erlebt habe. Die Lage des Hotels ist ruhig und trotzdem in angenehmer Gehweite zum Strand und zur Altstadt.

Das Strandangebot des Hotels am "Opera Plage" ist komplett überteuert und das Personal sehr unfreundlich.

Mattellat horrible, chambre trop petit. N'est pas un qualité de 4 étoiles.

Komfort im Zimmer passt nicht zu 4-Sterne-Haus. Heizung ließ sich nicht regulieren, Klimaanlage lief nicht, Spiegel im Bad hatte blinde Flecken. Frühstücksbuffet für den geforderten Preis nicht akzeptabel: Kaffemaschine wiederholt defekt. Bei größerem Andrang wird das Buffet kaum oder gar nicht nachgefüllt.
