Located on a quiet street in Paris’ 9th arrondissement, Hotel Mondial is near the famous Opéra Garnier and Galeries Lafayette and Printemps department stores.
Score from 50 reviews Good
Newhotel Lafayette is in the Opera district, 320 yards from Cadet Metro Station. It provides contemporary rooms with Wi-Fi access and is just over half a mile from Gare du Nord.
Score from 351 reviews Good
Gym equipment new, pretty good variety of machines.
Single beds pushed together.
This room for a 3 star hotel was way beyond our expectations and the best we have found in 3 months of travelling. Bathroom good, roomy and everything worked well. Bed comfy and large. Tea facilities. Didn't really want for anything.
The cost of breakfast did not justify the choices available. Not a biggy, but the lounge chair in bedroom was too used and old in comparison with rest of room.
late cleaning the room
Wifi access and easy access to mini markets.
No parking around the hotel. We have to park 1km away and cost €42 per day (if per hour is €4.20). The area is not safe and quite dark.
Staff very friendly and helpful. clean and spacious room. good location, metro near by (about 500 meters to stop line M9 Grands Boulevards or Cadet M7). Nearby restaurants and Brasserie. A good free WiFi network.
some details should be renovated, ie: old stile for bathroom and decor
The front desk staff was very kind.
They need to replace all the bed pillows! They have a smell of rancid greasy hair despite the fresh pillowcase put on them. NO hotel should skimp on adequate bed linens/supplies. It was not located as close to the Opera House as I thought, it is about a 15 min walk, a 2 min walk from Folies Bergere theater, very much a residential neighborhood, 10 min walk to the nearest subway station. The rooms need updating. Breakfast buffet for $15 euro was over priced for what it offered.
The location was very good - close to the metro and train stations. The price was very reasonable- but keep in mind the rooms are small. The staff were courteous and helpful.
Nothing stands out.
Everyone was very helpful, very kind and very patient Ms Jurita, Mr Emanuel, Ms Tina and the housekeeper.
In our room the WiiFii was weak :(
We had a very quiet room on first floor with an excellent bed but with a poor wi-fi connection. Rooms on the same floor facing the street were noisy but had at the same time a small view of Paris which we didn't had. Cleaning was excellent and people working at the front desk were kind and helpful.
View from room and wi-fi connection.
the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Hemos quedado sin luz (coriente)
Very nice and helpful staff. They have helped me a lot when my fligh back eas cancelled. There are some metro stations around the hotel, a lot of super markets, restaurants and cafes. Very comfortable bed!!! The room at the 6 floor is very nice! There are refrigarator, cattle, tea, coffee in the room. Internet is perfect!
No shelves for putting cosmetic near the sink and near the shower.
Staff were excellent and went out of their way to help. Organised transport and reorganised cheerfully when change was needed. Housekeeping staff tried very hard but we're regularly stymied by the electronic lock system failure in room 22.
Room was at front of hotel so opening window at any hour filled room with noise. As well adjoining room walls are completely porous so all noise travels through easily, even normal conversations. Local area has some seedy elements. Wifi did not work in our room for almost the entire 4 days we were there. Parking is the usual Paris nightmare. Electronic door lock regularly failed and even housekeeping could not get in to clean the room.
The hotel is nice and clean, 10 minutes walk from the Opera and La Fayette shopping centre. Free wifi. Clean and well furnished
Room minibar is empty If you need something to drink you to go at ground level and you can take a can or a bottle of water of it works. Wi-fi is not well performing, so iris not always available
Hotel was easy to find and in close proximity to many public transportation. Room size was decent and comfortable. Suited our purpose very well.
Overnight staff was rude. Accused my sister of being drunk when she wasn't and didn't want to let us in the hotel. Felt like she did not want to assist us.
You can walk from gare du nord in 10 minutes. Rooms are basic but clean.
Nothing much around. Breakfast expensive so went to a cafe on the corner.
Near the subway station in central city.
Limitted WIFI connection
Tea and coffee. View of rooftops.
This was our first visit to the 9th arrondissement and our first visit to the hotel. Can't fault the location: there is an 5-8 min walk to two metro stations (Cadet or Grande Boulevard) and the area itself is very eclectic with a good mix of both cheap and chic restaurants. It's within 20 mins walk of Le Opera Garnier and Les Galeries Lafayette. Hotel itself is very clean and exceptionally comfortable (good quality beds) with old-fashioned charm as well as some modern touches. The triple room was surprisingly spacious for a Paris Hotel. A little frayed around the edges in decor in places but very good value and I would definitely stay again.
Wifi sometimes dropped out of signal. Breakfast is very expensive at 15 Euros per person but there are plenty of places nearby so no need to eat at the hotel.
location value deal
1) Please replace your iron and iron board. Those have big yellow stains and are totally awful. 2) The youngest receptionist needs training. When someone asks for a direction to a metro station don't say it's somewhere there. 99% of receptionists pull the map and draw. 3) I settled in advance. So the 3rd day nobody cleaned my room; not even did my bed.
Nice comfy hotel
Wifi access need to be outside room.. Can be accessed inaide room but often loss connection bcoz the signal wasnt strong enough
Hood size rooms and beds. Clean.
It would be an excellent hotel in its category if the walls in between the rooms didn't have big ears, meaning literal conversations from next door can be heard. Also wi-fi very weak for this day and age.
The hotel is almost perfect, from its location to its cleanliness. Considering its really cheap price this is the best deal I've ever been through.
The only minor bugs were: -square pillows were not much confortable to us. It is however rather subjective; -noise from other rooms which is still indipendent from the hotel
room are cleaned
Good location, close to several metros (cadet being the closest I think). Opposite is the most exquisite Tibetan resteraunt for an extremely tasty, reasonably priced evening meal. Beds clean and comfy. Biscuits, soaps, kettle etc and fridge in room. Staff pleasant and welcoming. Lobby lovely. Nice lift and stairwell.
Greeted by dead rat outside hotel (not hotels fault but not a great start!) bedrooms clean and comfy and roomy enough but bathroom seen better days, it was clean but the sink leaked, tiles mismatched, towel shelf coming away off wall. Shower was tap/bath combo (but water was lovely and warm). We would stay again.
