Comfort Hôtel Rouen Alba  

Very pleasant and helpful staff and comfortable room. Located on a square just below the cathedral and main square, so ideally located for sightseeing and shopping. Also very close to the main quayside bus routes. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Bathroom/shower was a trifle cramped.

The only thing is that there is very poor noise insulation in the Hotel and you can hear everything going on around you. I could hear the people next door to me going to the toilet.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us, it's situated between the river & the cathedral & was very quiet apart from when the cathedral bells were in full flow but I guess the whole of Rouen could hear those! The reception staff were friendly & spoke excellent English, when we checked in we were offered a map & any help we wanted. The room was comfortable & very clean when we arrived with a TV, safe & tea & coffee making facilities which isn't usual in France from my experience.It was good value for money.

The hotel has no lift, it wasn't a problem for us as we were on the first floor but had the room been higher up then it may have been difficult. Also the tea & coffee weren't replaced on the 2nd morning of our stay & only basic cleaning in the room was carried out that day, basically the beds were made & that was all.

No lift (4 floor hotel and tough if you're at the top with small children as I was). Not a great choice of eating immediately surrounding hotel, but many within walking distance. Lighting on stairwells a little dim.

Even though walking to and from the train station seemed a trip, Rouen downtown is not that terribly extensive and therefore it was quite easy, even though at first I was a little lost. The hotel is a block away from the cathedral conveniently. It is also quite near the river front. It was very clean and well maintained. The 10 euro buffet breakfast may seem a little expensive but the choices are plenty. If you don't want that, there are bakeries nearby. The convenient location provided me the opportunity to explore the town even late at night -- although there are not too many restaurants for late diners except the expensive tourist- traps near the Market Place (where St. Joan of Arc was burned at the stake). There are some restaurants on rue Republic, much cheaper.

The bars nearby had many late customers who were making a lot of noise at late hours. That was the price I paid for having a room facing the front street!

Nous avons bénéficié de prix très intéressants le week-end avec petit déjeuné 65 €/ la nuit. Le petit déjeuné est varié, digne d'un 3 étoiles. Bon rapport qualité/prix.

L'insonorisation des chambres n'est pas terrible!!! Mais bon à ce prix on ne peut pas tout avoir. Pensez à vous munir de bouchons pour les oreilles.

12€ /pers. Le petit dej' c'est un peu abusé. Heureusement que le prix des chambres était correct.

Petit hotel bien confortable pour we en couple : très proche du centre ville, calme, personnel très agréable. Bouilloire dans chambre bien appréciable. N'avons pas utilisé le petit frigo d'appoint

Signaler que places de parking difficiles à trouver autour de l'hotel.

nous avons passé le weekend du 2 au 4 mars 2012 rapport qualité prix excellent propreté des lieux , personnel tres accueillant et aimable petit attention tres sympatique ... tres bonne situation géographique , proche de toutes les choses a visiter !

malheureusement parking payant tout autour de l'hotel c'était bien précisé sur l'hotel, 9 euros la journée mais quand on vient en voiture et qu'on visite rouen et ses rues piétonnes a pied ... forcément la voiture reste le weekend devant l'hotel ! donc pas génial ... mais beaucoup de centre ville sont comme ca maintenant ! par contre , nous avions une chambre sur la rue , et c'était assez bruyant la soirée et la nuit ...
