The owner was welcoming, the view and the breakfast are great. Its fairly convenient for Menton and the of course the motorway. There is a nice medieval village as well
The bed was on the small side and the motorway noise was quite audible with the window open for air.
The views were magnificent, our host was friendly and welcoming, the room was great, comfortable, modern bathroom, the terrace was perfect, the pool, the food everything was more than expected.
The room was clean, had a beautiful view.
It is not easy to find. We had to arrive before 8 p.m. and to finish our breakfast before 9 a.m. because the owner had to go to work! Very poor breakfast! The toilette and bathroom do not have fixed doors and cannot be closed.
Great look through the window on the mountain landscape and the sea in the distance, so I could not go to sleep! And here came home feeling!
Very clean and beautiful B&B with sumptuous breakfast!
Very hard to get to - up a mountain on a small narrow road
clean, nice situation and view, comfortable, great breakfast, very pleasant and helpful owner
If you prefer to stay outside the busy towns and Monaco, this is a very good option. It is roomy and the views from the rooms is the best. The host was able to speak French, Italian and English. Breakfasts were great.
nice, well decorated room. very friendly owner. good internet connection
drive up a narrow, windy road to the house - but not a big issue
Lovely place with great veiws ,very helpfully
A bit more sound proof from bathrooms next door and doors but not a major promblem
Location and views were excellent.
Stunning view of both the mountains and the sea from our room. Beautifully appointed quarters, with splendidly decorated private bath (including large tub) right across the hallway. The hostess was very helpful, providing us directions, restaurant suggestions, etc. The place is up a steep hill from Menton and removed from its congestion. Cash payment is required, so be sure you have it before you head up the hill. The room is not spacious, but in our experience found that is typical of French quarters. Overall, highly recommended!!
Very friendly owner always had a smile .View from our room with balcony superb mountains thro the valley to the sea .Garden well kept loved the avocado tree !! The B and B was spot on and we would visit again
Great host, really nice view of valley, but far enough from big city.
Nice B&B up in Castellar with a view back down to the coast. Lovely hostess and a terrific breakfast. It is just a short walk into the village.
This B&B is located in a French medieval village on top of a hill a few kilometers from the Italien border. It is magnificient if you want a quiet retreat. The setting could not have been any better. We had mountain and sea views. The room was very comfortable and the bathrrom was excellent. Shower and Tub. There is a separate entrance to the B&B area so we did not have to worry about disturbing the owner when we came back from dinner in the village. The village is stunning. Breakfast was wonderful.
Nothing I did not like, just a warnig though: The owner does not have the facilities to accept payment by card. You have to pay by check or cash. Make sure you have enough cash to cover your cost because there is no atm in the village. You will have to drive about 5 or 10 minutes into the town of Menton to get cash. The owner has requested an atm be installed but as yet there is none. This is not a bad reflection on the Aléandra, just a fact of life in a small medieval village.
