This was a great hotel once we were able to get to it-Street naintenance made traffic difficult-but once we gained access to u/ground parking it was easy. Great walking about the city-Metz was an very impressive city.

The Alerion provided a comfortable, quiet, clean, pleasant stopover for us on our way to Verdun. Excellent bakeries nearby as well as a Carrefour Express about a block away. Perfect access for train station.

For the time being, the roads around the central train station are torn up while a tram system is constructed. This impacts MANY hotels in central Metz. It was difficult to figure out how to get into the hotel and difficult to access parking. Hotel should send out advance emails to guests with reservations letting them know about the new traffic issues to save them time wandering around detours.

High quality and attention to detail: well decorated, good (quiet and effective) plumbing and heating. Nice elegant display for breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Noise from building and roadworks (not the fault of the hotel).

It was in a good location and the room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was very small and outdated. Hardly any outlets, pillows were practically flat, just a small bar of soap in the bathroom--no extra towels or even tissues. The room was dark and uninviting.

It's amazing how the staff cares about you. The men that was on duty when I checked-in gave me much more information about what to do than the "office de Tourisme" (which main role should be this). I got there before check in time but could take the room straight away. Breakfast buffet varied and fair price. The day I was leaving, the staff on duty told me to be carefull because the police (over ten officials) was running after a group of people so I went to the station (just across the street) to the other side to avoid them.

Location next to central station, makes it a bit less safe at night one of the rooms was cold and draughty and we switched from one room who had a hanging smoke smell breakfast was not a great choice

the owner?/lady in a wheelchair is very defensive in her communication and not service/client oriented in my opinion. Metz centre is a mess at the moment and that makes it very hard to reach the hotel. The information says their is parking space but does not the price, 9 euro. Due to those buildingsites all over the place is the promised internet connection not available. Both issues were for me crucial and so annoying.

The hotel is right opposite the train station for those travelling by rail and the station is quite scenic in itself. The hotel was comfortable, the staff were friendly and everything else was good.

All the hotel could offer was plastic cups so we drank Mumm from these soft squishy cups but it still tasted great. Shower was within the bath so splashed a bit.

Good and clean hotel close to the station and city centre resturants.

The hotel is perfect if you are traveling by train to short stay in Metz. It's right in front of the train station, it has elevator and the front desk staff is extremely friendly and dedicated to serving customers well. Here are 2 examples: 1) I got sick and they helped me to explain in the pharmacy how I should ask in french for a specific medicine; 2) They kept my luggage for 2 days while I traveled to other cities nearby. It's not common at all. I really recommend and I'll be back to this hotel.

Very accommodating, friendly staff. Room upgraded when slight booking error occurred at their end with our reservation. Queen bed, quiet room, although opposite the main station.

Very friendly and very helpful staff !! Exceptionally good quality beds, bed linen and towels for a low budget hotel. The beds are made with pillows, not with these uncomfortable rolls you find in so many French hotels. In-door parking just across the street for only eur 9 per 24 hours.

No personal safe. Rather noisy after 9.00, when chambermaids start cleaning. During the night my room (310) was very quiet though.

Everything was perfect, from it's ideal location across from the train station (if needed) or to it's quick exit to the highway out of the city (less than 5 minutes). The room was very well appointed and large. The breakfast was the best we experienced in three weeks of vacationing. The staff was professional and extremely helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Comfortable room at very good price. Excellent staff. Parking across the hotel, at special price for hotel guests. Hotel is across the beautiful old station, so busy. Walking distance of 10 minutes Cathedral/Pompidou Center.

We spent only one night in this hotel cos we were driving through Europe, but we really liked it. Hopefully next time we can stay longer in this Hotel. It was really easy to find. Nice place and quiet. The wife really liked the room. Clean and modern. The staff were speaking perfect English so this was a big help. You get "more" what you paid for! :) Anyway, I would recommend to all of my friend! Nice place, clean and friendly staff!

Nothing to tink of.

Staff friendly and helpful. Quite a few bars and restaurants within easy reach. Secure, reasonably-priced public parking close by. Short walk to old city, convenient to train station.

Access by car is a nightmare during reconstruction of train station area--probably until next summer (2013). Not in the nicest part of town. Ensuite toilet is tiny. Never did succeed in getting the lift to stop for me by entering the code number I was given.

Large underground car park is nearby. Staff friendly. Room large and clean.

Handy for the station. That's about it really.

As we didn't arrive by train there was no good reason to have chosen this hotel. It feels tired and dated. Inside courtyard facing rooms are subject to the racket of noisy pigeons. The hotel is a brisk 15 minute walk to anywhere of note in the city - the claimed 10 minute walk is really to the edge of activity. All in all we wished we'd chosen a cheaper competitor near the cathedral.
