Montparnasse Alésia

The hotel is located in a very nice residential part of Paris. The staff is friendly, helpful, and speaks fluent English (not typical of Paris hotels in general). The breakfast is the basic self-serve continental breakfast, and I was not impressed by their croissants, but at least you can pour your own coffee.

My room was facing the street, which meant that I could not open the window. With the window closed, the room was too warm (summer). Even with the window closed, the street noises were audible. All in all, I could not sleep very well there... Also, the bathroom has the kind of shower that does not attach to the wall, which made it difficult to wash my hair.

Hotel staff at reception desk as well as in the breakfast room are smily and reliable...

Except all the standard things, they cleaned our room when we were out.

The staff seemed very impatient, but that's probably because we don't speak French. Only station in English is CNN

This budget hotel is in an excellent location for enjoying Paris without the crowds, noise, and expense of most inner city accommodations. There are two Metro stations serving two different lines about 1/3 mile, or a six to seven minute walk, from the hotel. Our room was small but adequate and we were very pleased with the value.

Although the maid service was excellent, the administrative staff was not terribly reliable. We experienced several mix-ups despite the fact that I speak excellent French and took great pains to confirm and reconfirm all arrangements.

Quite noisy, you hear neighbours easily. Also no possibility to turn off central heating.

Hotel refurbished recently, rooms were clean and well equipped, hotel was well located near Metro station and accessible

Noise isolation between rooms was poor and the heater very noisy but globally satisfied with the service/place

Services are very bad, the hotel have no blanket, no heater and no apologize for this inconvinient even as I already complaint to the hotel management.
