Location and harbor view
breakfest could have been little better, but was OK
Comfortable room for the money, big bathroom. window overlooking the harbour was great.
No parking, parked at parking station around the corner. Lift started on the first floor & was very small. everything else was fine.
Staff, all very welcoming. Location fantastic, hotel clean & rooms perfect.
comfortable, friendly &an excellent location..!!!
The staff were really helpful and very polite. Location fantastic
Had to carry luggage up two flights of stairs but that's what happens in old buildings. Wifi didn't work at all
Close to very nice port full of restaurants and night clubs.
Location. Helpful staff.
Stairs up to reception.
the location could not have been better, overlooking the vieux port.
We were allocated an inside room with a small window overlooking an internal courtyard which had a covered roof. So the celebrated view from the hotel was not available to us. As well, the room was hot and stuffy and the air conditioner was inefficient.
the position (could not be more central and scenographic...)
my room was a double standard. view on a wall, inside some inner space between the buildings with no access to open air... it was necessary to keep the conditioning on ALL THE TIME
good location, but a bit noisy in the night
wifi, size of the room not quite reasonable, if the balcony is open it would be better
Bad mold smell in the room
The hotel staff were friendly.
Marseilles is dirty, noisy and very disappointing.
Having to carry my heavy suitcase up your stairs. Dark and narrow hallways to the small and ugly rooms rooms, my friend's room was even worse than mine and he could not even manage to open his wardrobe locker, it was totally jammed.
The location of this hotel is excellent - direct on the Vieux Port. Perfect for walking to many main tourist spots or for public transport. The room was basic and clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is very basic. This was fine for a business trip, but for a holiday you might want more. My room at the back was quiet but the windows opened only to an internal airshaft. So no view from there or from the breakfast room. The breakfast was poor value.
Magnificent views, central location for restaurants and sightseeing.
Excellent viewing from a window.
A long way to the escalator.
The location was nice. the room was not high enough (1st floor) but still a nice view of old port. There was air conditioner and a small safe. Check out time was as late as 1200 as far as I remember.
wifi was not available at the time. no elevator from 0 to 1st floor where there is the reception. There's no refrigerator.
A lot has already been said about the great views over the Old Port, and the proximity to cafes, restaurants etc, but it can't be over- emphasised that from this location all the old town areas can easily be reached by foot. A quiet stroll in any direction will take you to another unique area of old Marseille and a different experience. An extra bonus is the Metro located 100 meters from the front door which takes you to (and from) the railway station, only one stop away from memory, instead of a 15 Euro taxi ride.
Nothing, perhaps only the difficulty with wifi.
The view of the harbour
As per the review
The view of the Vieux Port from my fourth-floor window is a candidate for best-hotel-room-view-ever. Absolutely splendid, from soft early morning light to glittery water reflections at night. I highly recommend paying extra for the port-facing rooms -- and request a high floor, too. The desk staff also were consistently friendly and helpful.
The room itself was pretty barren, lacking such amenities as a clock, a lamp, a dresser, a comfortable chair, even a box of tissues. The bathroom seems to have been recently refurbished, which was nice, though I would not have thought it possible to make towels that thin. And the air con did not seem to work, or at least could not be set from the room. Although the room was reasonably clean, the fittings were well-worn and stained.
The location is central, although the entrance is next to a mc Donald's with a big terrass. Very noisy and dirty
the room was nothing like the pictures on booking.com. Everything in the building is crooked. The staircase (no lift), the floors of our room and even the pictures and coat hangers on the wall were almost hanging diagonal. They also put some kind of paper "throw away" cover over the matras which made a lot of noise and was uncomfortable to sleep on it is a very expensive stay for mediocre service, bad facilities and uncomfortable atmosphere. They make money because of the location and because no one wants to change hotels after arrival. Don't fall in this trap
Location at port is unbeatable. It does the trick if you just want a bed to sleep in.
No sound isolation, not very clean, very tiny rooms
Location, twin beds, view of harbour, cleanliness
Noise from drumming late into the night No facility to make tea/coffee
