The location of this hotel is excellent - direct on the Vieux Port. Perfect for walking to many main tourist spots or for public transport. The room was basic and clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is very basic. This was fine for a business trip, but for a holiday you might want more. My room at the back was quiet but the windows opened only to an internal airshaft. So no view from there or from the breakfast room. The breakfast was poor value.
Magnificent views, central location for restaurants and sightseeing.
Excellent viewing from a window.
A long way to the escalator.
The view of the Vieux Port from my fourth-floor window is a candidate for best-hotel-room-view-ever. Absolutely splendid, from soft early morning light to glittery water reflections at night. I highly recommend paying extra for the port-facing rooms -- and request a high floor, too. The desk staff also were consistently friendly and helpful.
The room itself was pretty barren, lacking such amenities as a clock, a lamp, a dresser, a comfortable chair, even a box of tissues. The bathroom seems to have been recently refurbished, which was nice, though I would not have thought it possible to make towels that thin. And the air con did not seem to work, or at least could not be set from the room. Although the room was reasonably clean, the fittings were well-worn and stained.
Location at port is unbeatable. It does the trick if you just want a bed to sleep in.
No sound isolation, not very clean, very tiny rooms
Location, twin beds, view of harbour, cleanliness
Noise from drumming late into the night No facility to make tea/coffee
Easy to find. Excellent location.
No chance to stop at the hotel. Carriing cases from the parking ( the closes one is 200 m fare from the hotel.)
Bad wifi in the room. Bad logging system for wifi. Old & stinks carpets.
Staff attitude unhelpful. Rooms small. Air conditioning not efficient. Should have read info better - dragging luggage up and down stairs was not a good start. Too noisy.
Shower that didn't work Room too small with a baby
location calm clean
All the staff was very kind and polite. I got all what I need.
Non, may be the city is not so nice. The life in the hotel were out of service.
Being right at Old Port was fun and great access to metro as well as food and sites. View from port side room was excellent. Rooms were comfortable yet spartan.
Rooms a bit dirty, carpet stained. Hike up stairs to rooms doable but not for everyone. Bed covers too warm for summer months. WiFi mostly available but best in breakfast area. Lobby staff not very knowledgeable about restaurants or directions.
Location was very good. Internet. View of harbour was nice.
No elevator first two floors.
Excellent location, the view from the room is unforgettable
Rooms are small and a little outdated
Had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to an elevator. Floors were not level in the room.
The location is excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially when the wifi went down and we needed to access our email. The rooms with views of the port are clearly better, but were not available on the nights we stayed. The bed was comfortable.
Our room was at the back, which we knew as rooms with the view were booked, but it was tiny, dark and old. The lift was out of order on the day we left so from the 3rd floor was a bit of a hike. The hotel was a compromise choice for the days we needed so disappointing. That said, we didn't spend much time in the tiny room, and the location is perfect.
The location is very convenien to metro station and old port. The staffs speak English well.
The elevator is very very small and is in second floor. You have to carry your luggage for two floors.
Location location location!! Beds were comfortable.
No parking or loading zone, but a parking garage is close by.
The Hotel Alize occupies a prime position right next to the Vieux Port with easy access to boat trips, restaurants and shopping areas. Our room was comfortable and there was a good buffet breakfast. There is underground car-parking nearby which only cost us Euro 23 for 2 days.
It didn't bother us but it's worth pointing out there are about 20 steps up to Reception and another similar number to the next floor for the lift so would not be suitable for certain disabilities.
The staff were friendly and very helpful and addressed a problem with my booking in an obliging and positive way. On my second night I got the room I had requested in my booking, and the view out over the port was delightful. Office/reception staff very good.
The fact that when I arrived I did not have a room with a view which I had asked for in my booking.
great location, awesome view, if you have a seaview room
oldfashioned. if you have a huge and heavy suitcase, do not book it, because there is an elevator just from the 2nd floor
Size of the room, location, staff.
Aircon was not working. Too match noise from the street.
