Location - its close to old town & 20-minutes walk to train station Our Room no. 131 particularly bathroom smelt of bad odour throughout 3-nights stay APR 05-08. When we opened window to rid off the foul smell, the noise from downstairs bar past midnight was too loud for us to sleep. When we arrived 05APR at 11AM, a middle-age female receptionist told us to come back 2PM after our Room is ready, to which we accepted. When my wife asked for permission to use the toilet which is in the adjacent dining room, she rudely said quote "no toilet" unquote. When she asked for city map, she again rudely said quote "no map" unquote. Sadly for us, she is on day-shift 7AM to 7PM throughout our 3-day stay. In contrast the 3 younger night-shift staff were all polite & helpful. For the same rate, prepaid & disallowing refund for cancellation, we could have stayed at any of the 2 better hotels along the same road - Best Western Hotel Europa & Hannong Hotel if we had known of the bad odour in the room & the rude receptionist. From an easy going matured couple from Borneo Island who visited France & Italy 7 times in last 11 years

This hotel was my choice because of its position, very close to Place de L'Homme de Fer. I didn't like some of their staff, there is a very rude lady at the reception desk, who pretended not to understand English, though during my first stay there, we had a very good English communication. Another minus of the hotel is the poor breakfast, each day the same. The hot water in the shower is not actually hot, but warm, and sometimes, it suddenly turns cold.

excellent location. Free Wifi. No charge for pets. Difficult to find. Room was too small, very difficult to move around in with 2 people. Room had a horrible smell that other guests complained about as well. Couldn't fit two people in elevator at same time with luggage. Beds were hard. 6 Euro breakfast was only a croissant and a piece of bread. Checkout was 11:30 instead of 12:00.

The beds were clean, the room was warm and the staff were helpful. It is situated conveniently close to a tram station. The room and bathroom were both far too small, especially for the price that was paid. There is too little space between the bed and the wall to move between the two comfortably with one's luggage. Hence, there are scratches against the wall made by other people's baggage. The television, which was promised, did not work. I was not given a password for the wifi. On booking.com this hotel was listed under hotel's with airport shuttles. I was very disappointed to discover that it has never had one. Clearly either booking.com has made a mistake, or has been supplied with incorrect information. This is not acceptable. Please fix this.

It was a non-luxurious hotel but very well located with access to stores and center of town. Staff was friendly and courteous. There weren't any instructions on how to operate settings on the heater.

Location is fantastic. Hotel is a bit "over the hill" but adequate for price given the high season - Christmas markets. "Lobby" is almost non existent and no where to leave luggage for a few hours except where others push it against the heater. Duty person should at least check that as it's only 8 feet away from front desk. Came back after 3 hours to melted chocolates and candles inside suitcases. Fortunately (a bit of luck) netbook computer was on other side of case. Probably would not stay there again.

The location is the only thing in favour of this hotel. Staff were indifferent, hotel is depressing, the room was reminiscent of staying in an old student room. Certainly not worth the 90 Euro I paid, maybe 40 Euro. I felt cheated of my money, my advice would be to give your money to someone else.

Two things were remarkable; the hotel was located at the centre of Strasbourg and the price was pretty low and equal to the quality of the room. Although access to Internet was free, we had to face many problems, while we were trying to connect. In addition, the pillows were worse than those of military barracks.

In centre The rooms were small and shabby, so transfered to an apartment instead, here the bed was broken so had to transfer again, the new apartment had wires sticking out of walls, the shower curtain was barely hanging up with a piece of string, the television would not work and also the internet did not work. Also we were on the top floor and the stairs were dangerous. When we complained to a woman member of staff she was very offensive and started shouting at us, customer service was terrible.

Good value and very well-located in the city. Staff were friendly as well. No hot water when we moved in and there was no real feedback as to why this was. Staff informed me that someone was fixing it and they would let me know how it goes. But there was no hot water for that whole day and so it was a bit annoying. Seemingly there was an issue with the whole street but I dont know how this could affect a buildings heating system.

Basic and clean. The room had been used by smokers so stank of stale cigaretes. There was no option for a non-smoking room.

Location is very good. The beds were also good. The price was also reasonable. Maintenance seems low. Many things were not working correctly, like one of the tv sets, the toilet seat is separated from the toilet, the oven has its cables hanging, etc. There is no lift in the building also, so if you come with a lot of luggage, babies, etc. it can be a problem.

Hotel is in a perfect location near the city centre and shops. Next to it there is a parking garage which was not free but the hotel staff gave a voucher with a 30 percent discount. The room had some fancy interior details and was a nice place to spend a day or two. The price for three people was also very attractive. Highly recommended.

Its location. Great Location!! The Breakfast great!. Near everything walking distance. Near several restuarants. Cleaning. We find the toilet dirty, more specifically a turd. When we complained we were told it was a matter of plumming. In addition, inside the bed a centipede and other insects were waiting for us.

“Hotel Kleber was a good choice for us as it was a clean and well-run establishment near to most attractions in Strasbourg. Breakfasts were quite good and my vegatarian daughter was able to find a good variety of foods.” Ted, Alexandria |
