The staff was very helpful and the location was OK. We had a hard time finding the property and when we did the parking was not good. The room was clean but small but it did what we needed, a one night stay. There is a food market within walking distance which had a good selection of wine, cheese and other fun France foods. I did not care for the difficulty in finding the hotel. With a GPS it was very hard. All in all it did the job, the price was right for the facility.

Right across from the train station and very close to the tram stop. Also good breakfast and very nice, clean room and quite spacious. Very, very noisy. I asked for a quiet room and was given a room right on the street facing the train station. The worst of the noise was not from the train station, however, but from groups of people shouting and yelling outside late at night. Also, the staff got my request for a wake- up call wrong and woke me up an hour late. I managed to get to the station for my train within 25 minutes, but only because the station was so close. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Ideal situation for sncf trains, trams to historic centre and bus to airport. Very friendly staff. For the area, the rooms and breakfast were overpriced

Pleasant and attentive staff. Very convenient location near the train station that I wanted for ease in meeting a tour pickup the following day and drop off a week later. The location also made it convenient for catching a trolley to the heart of the city and for catching a bus from / to the airport. Small but clean and efficient rooms.

The staff were very helpful. The location was perfect. Our room was very quiet. The room was a bit small with a large bed in it, but we realize that this is common is older buildings.

Internet access, good bed, asian woman who checked us in was very polite and cordial; she provided us with map, information on the use of the rail and suggested shopping areas and points of interest. Checked on the next morning, the service desk was unable to provide us with clear directions to the rental car company.

Dead close to train station, nice and clean, staff availability, no fuss check in and out. Wifi network was difficult to access from our phones in our room, expensive breakfast (which we didn't have).

I chose the Best Western Royal St Jean because I was travelling from England to Bordeaux to attend a wedding. I travelled on Eurostar from London to Lille and tgv from Little to Bordeaux. I wanted a hotel near the Railway Station because I arrived very late in the evening. The two receptionists were absolutely sweet and most helpful. My room was very comfortable and my breakfast was excellent. I took a tram from the station into the town centre the next morning. Isin't Bordeaux beautiful! There was only one ugly building - the concrete Conservatoire of Music building. Why was this building allowed in your beautiful city? It was in every way a very pleasant stay. Thank you. Rosemary.

It's location close to the Bordeaux train station and the extensive tram system was excellent. Also, it was only a 30 minute walk to the center of town.

Location being close to St. Jean station, just metres away, as we preferred. Staff on the day of arrival was very charming & friendly. Location was within walking distance of the city centre, with tram stations close by. Room is very small, with little room to get around and bathroom is also very cramped. Location being near the station also means presence of dubious characters in the vicinity but we never had any trouble. Breakfast was expensive so we had breakfast outside for much less cost.

Frienldy helpful staff. Air conditioning much appreciated during very hot weather Whilst very close to main station and tram for travel the hotel was too close to strip tease shops/clubs with various dubious characters on the streets. We were also awoken in the early hours of the morning by groups of men shouting and singing
