Hotel Ambassadeur

The hotel was very close to the centre of town and the waterfront. It was especially close to the walks up the hills. Ample car parking and easy to find.

Small size of lavatory in room - difficult to get in/out!

Ideal location-really close to the sea, restaueants, etc. At the same time it is located not in the noisiest area. Pretty nice breakfast, cosy room, beautiful and neat.

Staff doesn't speak English. In the morning while I was having shower the receptionist came and asked to switch the water without any explanations -as we could understand from her gestures something was wrong with water dropping down to the room under us) - no further explanations followed. It is really inconvinient when the only word staff can say is 'breakfast".

Would have benefitted from a lift.

Hotel Ambassadeur is a two star hotel with a three star feel. The hotel is beautifully quaint and nicely kept. I would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Etretat! Further, a few details really make this hotel worth the price: 1. Free onsite parking in a very cute gravel lot on site and right in front of the hotel. 2. WIFI: so many hotels in France say they have wifi and it ends up being an extra charge or just simply doesn't work. Hotel Ambassadeur had the wifi name and password right on the chambre door and it worked great. 3. Tucked back a bit from the beach, the location could be seen by many a a draw back to have to walk a short distance into town, however my wife and I found it to be very nice to be a bit out of the hubbub of tourism.

Excellent location and easy to find. Room was relatively small but very comfortable with a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel/car park - not unpleasant as only around 10 cars and no noise. Bathroom was, again, pretty small but did the job with no problems !! Breakfast room and breakfast both very nice. Easy walk to a couple of recommended restaurants - very good standard and the beaches. I would recommend this hotel.

A bit over-priced when compared to other hotels in Normandy but, then again, all hotels are expensive in Etratat due to location.

Very enjoyable stay.

The only downside was that our 2 rooms were up a tight staircase and this was fairly difficult for my 86 year old mother, and the hotel were not too helpful with organising a change. It didn't help that the manager spoke no English and my French is not great so it was not easy to discuss the issue.

Good private parking, as long as your car is not too big. Elegant rooms. Within five minutes, you are at the beach.

Nice staff, great location about 2 minutes from the sea and the falaises directly in the center of the little town of Etretat. Free parking lot directly in front of the house, great tasting snack bar just 30 meters in front of the house, cosy room and a really great (about 1,5 squaremeters) showers! We will return for sure!
