Excellent location, just 10 steps away from the Metro. Good restaurant next to it, very convenient. Have to open the window in summer because there is no a/c. Can be very noisy especially if you are a light sleeper. However, you are likely to find similar issues if you went to other hotels in the same class. Towels on one day also smelt very funky, but that was pretty much the only glitch I encountered.

Very good placement near railway station "Gare d`el Est" and metro. Towels were changed every day. There is no dryer in bathroom. Ugly view from window (to roof). Soundproofing was very bad (we always hear when our neighbors used bathroom). Lavatory seat has strange fittings, which scared us.

The Amiot was clean, comfortable and a good location for siteseeing. Definitely value for money (half the price of the Holiday Inn right next door). The breakfast was sufficient. I would difinitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

staff is friendly and nice my room was behind the elevator, very noisy, difficult to get asleep. The walls are too thin, you can hear everything your neighbours do

I have been quite unhappy about Amiot. The WiFi was not working on all the rooms and it was one of the primary reason why I picked up this hotel. Room photos was not reflecting the room on which I slept. No wifi on the entire hotel except the reception (at least that point should be noted on the description)

The hotel is well located and close to most ammenities and transport. On the whole it was clean. However, the front foyer needs to have proper ventilation and air freshner. Furnishing is rather old. It could do with a refurbishment - all round. Generally all staff were very helpful and friendly. The only ones who were not so were 2 young fair skinned French ladies who manage breakfast. Sadly, they were rude and unpleasant. No one likes to meet a sour puss in the morning.... Otherwise, my family had a pleasant stay at the Amiot. The breakfast kitchen staff as mentioned, the smelly air in the front foyer and the old musty furnishing.

The breakfast was nice with fruits, coffe, juice and croussants. For breakfast in Paris it's perfect. WiFi was fast and reliable and free of charge. The floor was not plain. I felt like I am in an airplane.

We took a quadruple room for one night. The room was on the top floor (6th floor) and was a good size. The beds were placed next to one another on one side of the room. There wasn't much room between the beds but they were very comfortable. The heating was just right. The room was clean. The bathroom was a good size and very clean. We had everything we needed. There was little noise from the traffic outside because we were so high and it was cold so we didn't open the windows. The staff was courteous and friendly. All in all, a good 2 star hotel. We didn't try the breakfast so cannot comment on that. Two things. We never took the elevator because there were always people waiting. We didn't mind taking the stairs because it was good exercise. But you need to be in good shape for the 6 flights of steps. Also, when booking this hotel at this site, I thought that the 124 euro price was a very good reduced price for the quadruple room, down from whatever was advertised for this room. However, when we got to the hotel, the regular price was 124 euros! I don't know where booking.com got the higher price from. So don't always assume that the reduced price is a bargain. Just accept the price that fits into your budget. It may not be cheaper than what you get by calling the hotel directly.

It's a humble old-style hotel, with nothing fancy about it at all. But it was all I needed, since I had a train to catch next day ad the Amiot is close by 2 mainline stations. When I was too late for breakfast and asked for a coffee, they gave me the full breakfast anyway. Down-to- earth, clean, friendly and well under 100 euros per night. Great package, as long as you don't want nicely packaged shampoo & conditioner in the bathroom. It was just fine.

Central location, breakfast was busy but nicer than expected. Walked up from Chatelet/Notre Dame at 9pm and did not feel safe even though there were some restaurants still going at full tilt on the side streets. Ok outside the hotel though.

The staff was kind. The area is well connected with metro. Internet connection working reasonably well, although sometimes a bit slow. The tv screen worked ok, the bed good. Nice to have a safe in the room. The area is not really nice. The hotel is old, the room a bit depressing, although strictly speaking reasonably clean (at least once you get used to it). Some continuous noise above the toilet ceiling made me suspect some birds were living somewhere between the two floors, although I admit I do not have a proof of it.

Localization of the hotel (however it is close to Gare de l'Est but not Gare du Nord). Staff speaking good English! Very small breakfast. The dirty curtains in the room - I can understand that there is a renovation going on, but curtains didn't see any washing machine for ages.

It was well situated very near two major railway termini. It was very old and showing it. There was a need for some TLC. There were areas where the paint was chipped and which needed repainting. The only chair was very old, uncomfortable and it wobbled.

Nice, english speaking staff. Very clean room. Just few meters from metro. Super market in next block. This isn´t a big problem, but elevator was lousy. It opened from both ends slowly every time and it was really small, even for two persons. We had to wait everytime, because it was onle elevator. There were stairs too.

I was not sure what to expect for such a cheap price with a good recommendation but the room was quite spacious, clean modern wooden floors, flat screen tv, comfortable bed, good location for Gare De Nord/Est. value for money in a major city centre is quite good if you just want somewhere to sleep hallways were very scruffy compared to the rooms, they should replace the blankets with duvets..... breakfast was poor ,.surely it cant be difficult to provide hot coffee and fresh croissant in France !.. Also not the hotels fault but there is a restaurant next to the hotel, the pizza was OK but they charged a ridiculous price for the drinks (large beer =10 euros), asked if I wanted water, the waiter then gave me a bottle and charged 5 euros so be warned !
