Loved this town because it's like going back in time, when people aren't in a hurry and take pride in their town and their food, culture, etc. Proud that they survivied WW2, and the importance to educating their children about it. Had a lovely tour about that. Went to great restaurants that our hotel Hotel D'Argouges recommended for us. Le Pommier and Le Volet Qui Penche!! Like to go back when it's warmer to see the beautiful flowers in bloom, we went 3/8, so I would like to go back in April sometime.

Do not stay here, this hotel is unkept, dirty, run down, and in dire need of maintenance. The room was not what we booked, so we were forced into a tiny cramped room. I had to sleep with half of the lamp hanging over the bed. The window wouldn’t close, we were in the second floor but still unsafe

Bayeux is a lovely magical little town!
Bayeux is a lovely magical little town!
The architecture is just magical, the people are kind and the energy around is just lovely, I had an amazing loving New Year's weekend.
I love the Farmers Market on Saturday!
Upon arriving, we found the Hotel under construction and we were accommodated at their sister property the Belle Normandy. The same ownership has both hotels. We were treated like royalty. The rooms were large and brand new. The breakfast was excellent and the staff helped us a lot. We do not speak French and they helped a ton. we went to restaurants they recommended and had wonderful dinners. They helped us set up a tour of the Battle Fields and made sure we were comfortable at all times. No question we would go back to this same property.
First off, the newly-renovated and slightly modern facilities, the light streaming in the spacious modern bathroom,, the view from the bedroom window of the chateau and the gorgeous room all made our stay the best of our one month in France. So peaceful, in comparison to busy Bayeaux. The owners were so cool, raising their enfants while managing all aspects of the business. I hated to leave…it’s a 10 for sure! Enjoyed dinner late our front of the chateau and food was good. Breakfast was delectable. I’m coming back!
Belle Normandy is a relatively new hotel which has been converted from an old school right in the middle of Bayeux. The rooms were top class, large with modern bathrooms. We had covered parking for our motorcycles in one of the outbuildings. Buffet continental breakfast was excellent. The hotel is minutes walk from both the Cathedral and the Normandy Museum, and from the various restaurants in the centre of Bayeux. Cedric and his team could not have done more to make us feel welcome.
If you’re going to Bayeux, stay here! It’s an old tower that was renovated into a beautiful open modern space with thoughtful touches. It was by far the best place we stayed in France! It’s right next to the center of town and a short walk to everything. Paula was a great host who had terrific recommendations and even helped us make reservations for dinner. There’s free street parking very close by. We wish we could have stayed longer and can’t recommend this place enough!
Place with a lot of history. There is an interesting small museum with lots of maps and pictures on the Invasion of Normandy and a very old chapel. Friendly host. There was a small problem in the kitchen but this was solved quickly. The beds are comfortable and the loft is really spacious. At walking distance from Bayeux. A really nice place which we highly recommend!
The breakfast was superior. There were homemade fruit desserts every morning. There was as much fresh coffee and hot milk for the coffee as we desired. Several croissants and fresh bread for every person. It was truly the best breakfast we've had in our six week trip through France! Thank you, Florence, for your outstanding service and wonderful hosting!
We needed one room for one night for a family of 4 and stayed in the top annex room. Perfect place to lay our heads before our Normandy tour the next morning. Girls loved popping into the pool/hot tub after a day of traveling and breakfast was perfect with lots of drink and food options. Great central location to walk around Bayeux after dinner.
Beautiful hotel in perfect location, easy to walk to dinner, tapestry museum, etc. There was a mix up w our booking.com reservation & staff was very accommodating & corrected the problem . Our group of 5 enjoyed playing cards in the hotel bar area w fireplace . This was our base for touring Normandy. We give this hotel our highest rating!
Our 4-night stay at Domaine de Bayeux was exceptional in all respects. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was larger than a typical UK hotel room and perfectly clean. Breakfast was complete with hot and cold items. We would stay hear again! It was a short and convenient 5-7 minute walk to the center of town.
The apartment was immaculately decorated, spotlessly clean and well equipped.
The host left a bottle of local cider for us, coffee pods, tea bags, etc. It is very close to the main street in Bayeux, and close to free parking.
Bayeux itself is a lovely town, and ideally situated for visiting the Normandy coast.
The Novotel is built to be a motel style hotel on the Bayeux ring road. The car park is huge and it is very convenient for people travelling by car or coach. The hotel has everything you would expect from a motel in a compact package - a gym, bar, restaurant, good wifi, pool. Staff are all helpful and friendly.
A very clean and comfortable house. The location is excellent not only for exploring Bayeaux but other sites in Normandy such as the Landing Beaches. It is only a 10 minute walk into town centre so great for shopping and restaurants and there is a great Supermarket at the end of the road
Beautiful hotel in a great location just 5 minutes walk to both the train station and bayeaux town centre. Our room overlooked the orchard and it was lovely sitting out on the terrace. Breakfast was delicious particularly the apple jam made with apples from the orchard.
Beautiful hotel in the center of Bayeux, walking distance to all the historic sites. Excellent restaurant that was open for early diners. (Others in town did not open for dinner until 7:00pm, which appears to be normal in France.)
staff was very helpful - the facility and rooms were clean — great breakfast — close to everything in Bayeux (train station/cathedral/restaurants). Easy day tours to St Michel and Normandy beaches. had 20 year calvados in the bar😀
Location was good, central to the town of Bayeux. If visiting Normandy, a rental car is more convenient than bus. All supplies were available. Kitchen was nicely upgraded. Off season, there are not a lot of restaurants open.
Excellent location, five minutes walk into the city centre, friendly helpful staff, great continental breakfast with plenty of choice, comfortable rooms. Great value for money. First choice for my trips to Normandy
Roomy apt with secure bike storage in courtyard. 3rd floor no elevator (common in France) Bakery downstairs 1/2 baguette and croissant per person daily as part of rental.
