Large, clean comfortable room. Innitnal booking problem sorted out with the manager. We had been allocated student accommodation next door.
Not a very nice location but close to the train station. A bit far out of the main city area. Very large, comfortable room but very small double bed and no air conditioning working.
Easy access to metro. Quiet location.
Variety of breakfast and spacious apartments.
Shower blocked so couldn't use it. Fridge broke down on 2 days so limited breakfast. On the wrong side of the tracks, slightly dodgy area next to a commune.
For an inexpensive place right near downtown Lyon, we'd recommend this hotel. Decent breakfast and the room had a kitchen so cooking in the room would be possible. Great place to stay for a few nights. If going to Lyon though, make sure you eat at George's!!!
The bed was not as comfortable as we would have liked.
enough space in the superior suit, good breakfast.
the ventilation system was not woking and is had no air conditioning, so if you plan to stay there when the outside temp is 26C and over, reconsider. Quite unsafe to leave the windows open on the 7th floor.
definitely need a car
Hotel was very clean and staff was always smiling. The location is very good - approx. 15 min walk and you are in the old port (centre of the city). Parking came in very handy.
A little to choose from at breakfast. Only "sweet" food was provided but you could eat as much as you wanted.
Staff and distance from station a lot more than 600 mtrs.
The apartment was really neat. The breakfast was great.
The apartment was very hot in the afternoon and nothing to cool it down.
Large room with kitchen included. Breakfast was good and could do a laundry for 3.50Euros.
The staff was inexperienced and wouldn't allow us in at 3pm. There were squatters camping at the park across the street.
Simple and clean. Could have done with shampoo replacement and the desk had no hair dryer .
parking, room with kitchen
The staff were very friendly and were happy to help in any way possible. The studio apartment had a TV, phone, WiFi and cooking facilities, which was perfect for myself. A continental buffet was also included in the price. The apartment was located 5 minutes away from the metro and was relatively easy to find.
Nothing except for the fact it is in Lyon.
This is not a hotel not even aparthotel. A number of booking.com members have left the warning: this should not be advertised here as such, so beware! This is in fact a building of studio-like rooms rented to local students in a very ugly part of the city (Gerland, but one of the worst bits of it). The building is located in a 8 min walk from Jean Jaures and unfortunately the street leading to it is not very nice (especially after it's dark) and in fact the name will be different from the one you've seen on google maps so you might get lost before getting there. That street and surrounding area are a construction site filled with garages and building spaces (and nothing else). Admin was supposed to be there from 7h30 until 5pm which is false they started at 10 or so. And by the time I arrived an envelope and key had been left on the Quality Suites building adjacent to it which is also where you have your breakfasts (if included). Stay in this one rather than apparteo in my opinion. In addition, there is no air and room becomes extremely 'stuffy' and if you ask for single studio you get a 1 person- body space bed, with a foam mattress. This meant the room overheats a lot but because of the building sites around it doesn't really feel ok to have the window open. Upon trying to cancel the two weekend nights ( and had other 4 or 5 before) due to flight change I was received with fierce incomprehension and unavailability from an extremely rude lady who , when confronted started to shake and be very nervous (this told me immediately something dodgy goes on there) and eventually even charged me with being dishonest, etc, arguing she had already attended too many of my special requests (note!!!
The apartment was spacious and provided reasonable cooking facilities. Reception as helpful. The laundry facilities were excellent, although did cost extra.
The room was very noisy due to the construction going on outside. It was also very stuffy. This made even worse by the fact that the bathroom didn't have a window or a fan. It was impossible to sleep at night and we ended up sleeping under damp towels. There was also something bitey in the beds- not bed bugs, possibly some kind of mite. The shower was a walk in, and had a tendency to flood the bathroom.
