This was an excellent stopover before catching ferry. Excellent dining experience. Could have done with a roaring fire in the dining room, it was quite cold initially when we sat down at our table, took a while to warm up.

The hotel is close to the Ferry terminal, and as such is ideal for us to relax before taking the ferry to Jersey. It is also good on arrival in St. Malo on an evening before setting off the next day in France. We have stayed in this hotel several times and enjoy the ambience. Nothing It is a pity that it is closed in winter

The dinner was excellent- superb!! The welcome when we arrived was very good and staff considerate and courteous. We had stayed previously and so chose this hotel for the above reasons and also very accessible to St Malo Ferry Port. Rooms comfortable . We know that after travelling from the South -we will be comfortable at La Grassinais. We would recommend to others.

The Hotel was ideal as a final night before leaving for the morning ferry back to Portsmouth. The location was within easy reach of the port and the town. The room was clean and comfortable with all necessary facilites inclding wifi. The food in the beautiful restaurant in the evening was excellent, and very reasonably priced for such good quality. The Breakfast was also excellent for quality and value. The staff were all pleasant and very efficient. We will certainly stay here again if we visit St Malo.

The hotel was excellent with a lovely spacious room. My only gripe was that we were on the ground floor with a walkway next to the window so could not have the window open overnight. The restaurant was also extremely good and the staff were really helpful and charming.

Comfortable bed. Lovely old main building - welcoming appearance. I had thought breakfast was included in room rate - it wasn't which made this an over-priced stay.No warm food for breakfast - no facilities to make toast / warm croissants etc. No coffee / tea making faclilities in room.

Spacious triple room for a family and very close to St Malo ferry. Good buffet breakfast selection. A 10 minute drive into town as the restaurant was quite expensive,

Friendliness of the staff It was not immediately clear that the hotel is well away from the center and would need a car to get there. For just one night we were ok, otherwise it would a major problem

Safe courtyard car parking just outside your rooms, most people who stay here have a car either going/coming on Ferry or arriving late night after Ferry, and starting driving off on holiday through France next morning early. so secure car parking necessary. Good Ferry logis.

Comfortable room which had been nicely laid out. Had everything we needed for our short stay. The hotel itself was lovely but it's a shame a shopping complex had been built around it. Having said that, it was useful for us to nip across the road for some tea as the restaurant was too gourmet for our 1 year old!

We were catching an early ferry and stayed here overnight with our 7 year old. We booked a triple room - it was very quiet and comfortable. It was located in a very built up area but dont let that put you off, it was very pretty and you felt as though you were in the countryside. We did not use the restaurant for the evening meal as the menu was'nt really suitable for our son (he has allergies), but it looked lovely and we would love to have eaten there. Breakfast was the usual - continental and was fine. Would definately stay again. There were no tea making facilities in the room, but I think there was room service if you needed it.

Comfy and quiet with pleasant staff and facilities. Although it is near a main road it is very quiet at night as all the bedroom windows open onto an inner courtyard. Parking is on site a free too. Just a shame that the restaurant is closed on a Monday night. We went over the road to the Ibis though and had a really good meal for a good price.

La Grassinais appears as an island of 17th century logis inside a modern business development. It combines fine hostelry with the benefits of its location: easy access for motorists, extensive shopping opportunities as well as family attractions including aquarium and trotter raceground nearby, and only 5 minutes by car from the impressive St Malo intra muros. The staff was very professional, helpful and friendly. We stayed in La Grassinais 3 nights for bed and breakfast. We enjoyed a marvelous and memorable vacation in St Malo as the end and highlight of a summer family holiday. We will try La Grassinais restaurant next time! La Grassinais was perfect for our holiday.

Lovely hotel , quadruple room for the family was very nice. Good breakfast, staff were helpful and friendly. On site parking and good location for the ferry and for heading south out of St Malo. Despite being next to a main route into St Malo, it was actually quiet and the traffic didnt disturb us at all. I didn't spot that breakfast wasnt included in the price, so the hotel cost as much as staying in an hotel in the citadel. That made it less value for money. It's a great place to stop over from the ferry and is easy to find but for the cost, I wish I had stayed in the citadel. I would have liked some sort of soft/ hot drink facilities in the room. After a long drive with young children, it would have been good to be able to sit and relax for a while, in the room, without then having to leave and find something to drink.
