Located in a flowery park, half a mile from the harbor and the picturesque port town of Cancale, Hotel Nuit et Jour features a spa, sauna, swimming pool and fitness area.
Score from 362 reviews Very good
Located just 200 metres from the coast, this B&B overlooks a horse-riding centre. Traditional French dishes are served in the dining room and the centre of Saint Malo is 4.5 km away.

The Hotel de France and Chateaubriand is located in the heart of the historic city of Saint Malo. It offers breathtaking views of the sea and furrow.

comfortable, convenient, cheerful, good food.
Very good restaurant. Lovely menu selection. We booked here because of the excellent food and feel we made a good choice. The meals were gorgeous. We were only a very short car ride to the park and ride which was absolutely excellent....no parking problems and excellent service.
Expected to be in a better area although truthfully the shopping units did not cause any trouble. Hotel looked a little tired but this did not stop us enjoying our stay.
Stayed in Room 8 - excellent size for 3 people and well renovated with modern ensuite.. Convenient overnight stop before feery back to Portsmouth.
Odd location in middle of commercial estate towards edge of St Malo, but still less than 10 minutes from the port and old town. It felt like a bit of an oasis!
Quiet location, a little oasis ! Very convenient in relation to the ferry port with good road connection.
Nothing, but disappointed that the dining room was closed Monday nights - but - their recommendation in the town was excellent !
Comfy , smart room. Excellent restaurant but a little pricey
On a retail estate not within walking distance of St Malo
Intimate, comfortable, helpful staff, excellent breakfast. Of the 18th/19th Century Saint-Malo ship's captains' estates that remain in the area, La Grassinais has been transformed into a charming and comfortable hotel. A bit off the beaten path, it is worth the extra 2 or 3 minutes to drive there. Wonderful staff. Would go back!
Good secure parking. Comfortable, quiet rooms. Very friendly helpful staff. A good base for visiting St Malo and surrounds - easy access to main roads.
Breakfast was OK
Location was terrible - like a Formule 1, surrounded by business units. The room was small and the en suite even smaller. There was no opportunity to dine in since - incredibly for such a touristy area - the restaurant closed on Mondays ! So we went out and when we got back there was no room in the car park and no obvious place to park outside. We had to move some concrete bollards and park half on the road. Very poor indeed.
The food and wine
It was difficult to find
Staff very helpful. Location good for access to ferry, motorway, aquarium, large shopping stores.
Location in middle of commercial/industrial estate. Traffic noise. No fridge.
Restaurant dinner Our Room facilities Buffet breakfast Location to ferry terminal
We asked for a room on quiet side of the house , which we were allocated but this was spoilt by a group of people outside on the patio making a noise until the early hours. This meant neither us or friends could get to sleep until nearly time to rise. No air conditioning.
Not in the best of positions on a trading estate but the hotel is attractive- our room and en suite recently decorated and the bed very comfortable. the restaurant was marvellous - excellent meal on the last night of our holiday before catching the ferry home. Had a thoroughly great stay
Comfort of room including curtains which did not fit window properly.
We arrived early but was made to feel very welcome, hotel is of a very high standard but you do pay for this
We had travelled around brittany and wanted something special for our last few nights, the location is not ideal or close for sightseeing, restaurant staff are not very friendly and a little unorganised, food and drink very expensive and not much of a choice. Hotel is spotless though
Logis La Grassinais is a delightful place to stay. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful with a walk in shower. TV had a variety of channels including English. The restaurant is very good value with superb food. Very nice, we will stay again in the future.
Although it is sited in a commercial area this is not a problem as it feels like it is in the countryside.
We find it a very handy spot not only for the morning ferry but also for getting to the centre of St Malo. It's also quiet and the parking is secluded. The room is adequate and clean and the facilities as you would expect for a Logis de France.
The breakfast is acceptable though not extraordinary. I'd have liked a bigger choice of fresh fruit and nicer fresher coffee. However the local yoghurt was good and the bread and crossants were fresh and nice. There was also some stewed fruit which was a plus.
Really nice hotel close to the main road and shopping outlet. Very sweet and pretty courtyard entrance. Good staff and room was perfect.
(just a note for the hotel) The shower screen was not big enough and caused water to go on the floor which made me feel bad for your lovely hotel and staff.
Restaurant open on a Sunday evening
No tea/coffee making facilities in room
Clean room, modern bathroom, traditional style building
Location was surrounded by car dealerships
The location. The food provided for breakfast and dinner were of a high standard.
We were in France for an old car rally. The car park was secluded and very secure and this was our priority rather than the location. Madame very graciously allowed us to leave one of our cars in the car park all day after we had checked out because we had a night crossing. Although the hotel was in an industrial estate, it was close to the N12 and was not at all noisy. There was a very large Carrefour nearby.
This is not a criticism but an in inconvenience. The hotel restaurant was shut on the night but Madame recommended an excellent restaurant in town, a short taxi ride away, which we all liked very much.
Good location and great restaurant
The closeness to the ferry to England.
The restaurant was closed on the Sunday evening we were there.
