Friendly and attentive staff, not very far from metro stations, good restaurants nearby. The hotel was very attentive and stayed with 2 pieces of luggage while I did a 3 days travel close to Paris. Nice decoration with houglass motives. Reasonable price/quality relation. Quite small rooms. Close to Montparnasse but far from other turistic places in Paris. There was a receptinist for the night time that, when we arrived about midnight, he was usually sleeping in the hall, with no shoes, open shirt and messy hair: not very professional... (Only this one, other receptcionists were very professional).

Location, near Pernety metro station, Montparnasse cemetery and Paris catacombes. Room could be a bit cleaner, especially the toilet and the walls are thin.

The hotel is on a quiet street in a largely residential neighborhood, which meant very little street noise both nights. The rooms were cheerful -- they seem to have been redecorated recently -- and the beds were comfortable. Also, at 8 euros 50, the breakfast was varied enough and a good value, plus the server was pleasant. a) The indifference of the night clerk. When a poorly fastened curtain rod came down on my head and I went down to the desk to see if I could get some ice to help reduce the swelling, there was no ice, no advice, no help. b) While the hotel is not very far from metro Pernety, it is nonetheless a bit of a hike from stores and restaurants, a disadvantage for anybody unfamiliar with the city or who does not speak French. c) Lastly, I would point out that the three-start rating advertised on the web does not correspond to the two stars posted at the hotel entrance.

Hotel Ariane Montparnasse was clean, had a helpful staff and had very comfortable beds. It is not a luxury hotel (it is exactly what it claims to be, a three star), but if your target is price, cleanliness and convenience while in Paris ... it is a good choice. Some of the infrastructure is a little old, but definitely maintained and not neglected. The Hotel is also very honest ... no hidden charges just the agreed price. The "hourglass" theme is quirky and fun. There's a nice retro lounge configuration in the lobby. The only short fall was the lift. It should be fixed ... but stairs are also healthy. If you have problems with mobility, confirm with the hotel that the lift is functional.

I loved that the hotel was so nice for such a low price. I had booked another hotel a few months before our Paris trip but canceled a few days before because of the reviews. Luckily, we was able to find this hotel with much better reviews and for only 4 euro more a night. Our room was very clean and smelled great! I have stayed in a lot of hotels and they never smell that great. Its very easy to get to from the metro (Pernety) since it was a straight shot from the metro entrance to the hotel. Just remember that the rooms are very small compared to hotels back in the us. 11 euro breakfast. Easy to avoid the continental breakfast at the hotel since a little over a block away you have a street lined with restaurants and pastry shops. We did not know this before booking, but whenever you leave the hotel you must leave your key with the hotel staff. They told us that they had lost to many keys so they held onto them when people left the hotel. We did not like this idea at first but we never left anything worth any value in the hotel besides our clothes, which is easy to replace. Us and our 2 friends who stayed never lost or had anything stolen but I would not suggest you leave anything you would hate to lose, just in case.

Only stayed here for 1 night en route to London. From what we saw, it was necessary to take the metro to the various landmarks.

This hotel was saved by the fact I proposed to my now fiancée whilst in Paris, the pictures on the wall were pleasant enough. The hotel is not up to the three star standards it claims; the breakfast is shoddy, the night porter is unprofessional and unwelcoming, the room was small and not overly clean, and due to a mistake made by the day porter the stay ended up costing more than it should.

The location is right near the metro so that is ok. The reception staff were all very nice and very helpful, as far as the room goes, simply just ok, the bathroom was dirty and stayed dirty the whole week! I have to say expensive for what you get, plus breakfast is at an extra charge of 11 euros per person per day!!

It is in a nice location down a quiet street with nearby shops and bars. It is not central, but as it is by a metro, this does not matter. The peaceful location and price compared to other hotels make up for it. It is a small room but has all the facilities needed for a city break where you are not in the hotel much anyway. I have satyed here before and this hotel is fine if you want a double room. However, on this occasion we had booked a twin and on arival they didn't have this, despite this being on our confirmation. There was no twin available so eventually they offered a camp bed. They got this out later and we had to take it to the room in the lift and set it up. For paying to stay in a hotel twin room, sleeping on a camp bed is not a comfortable option. I would not book this hotel again if looking for a twin following this, but would for a double as other than this it is nice.

The most of the front desk staff were helpful and friendly and spoke enough English to help us set up a taxi to the airport and wake up calls etc. The hotel beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower decent. I felt safe staying there and the front desk held our room key when we went out which I liked. The room and bathroom were smaller than expected from what I saw on booking.com. No air conditioning and we were there in SEptember with unseasonally hot weather. Cooled off enough at night with window open

Bed was comfortable and most attractions were within a 10/15 min subway ride. Our bathroom sink leaked water all over the floor when we used it. Also the room had no airconditioning, only 1 small fan, so as we stayed in summer we had to have the windows opened every night and on some nights the people out in the street were quite noisey. However for the price we paid, and what we used the room for we found it pretty good value for money.

Staff was very helpful. The hotel suggests it has a shuttle service to the airport, but neglects to indicate the cost (although it is cheaper than a taxi). However, even if we had wanted to use the shuttle it was full. So, it seems like the hotel should just indicate that it has a deal with a shuttle service.

It was in a very nice neighbourhood, only a few minutes walk to the Pernety Metro so it was easy to get around. There are some great bakeries and restaurants around the hotel so skip the hotel breakfast and head to those for very very cheap but delicious baked goods. The hotel staff was very nice. A good hotel if you want to be in a nice, safe neighbourhood. The rooms are very small, no space to walk around. The carpet looked a bit spotted and the pillows weren`t very comfortable. Our bathroom door didn`t lock either. Also if you are planning on getting a twin room, the beds are attached to each other so it may as well have been called a double.

Clean with good sized room and bathroom for a city. The staff were very helpful and multi lingual. The area is not too far out and there are several metro lines to choose from. The street is very quiet but there are lots of cafes, bistros, pattiseries, a supermarket, food shops, etc a few minutes away. Seemed good value compared to other Paris hotels. Would definitely stay here again. There was nothing I didn't like.

“We used this hotel for our honeymoon. Location is perfect and people were so friendly. There are supermarkets around there so that we can easily buy local foods and enjoy in the room. On Sunday, there is local market around nearby subway station. There also we can enjoy local foods. This hotel is well equipped and you don't have to bring anything. We went out everyday and we felt as if we were going "home" at the end of the day. We definitely use this hotel again if we have opportunity to come to Paris. We strongly recommend this hotel.” Tomomi, Tokyo |
