Very conveniently situated for the rail and coach station, the Tourist Information Office and the centre of Aix. We had a pleasant large room at the rear of the hotel which was very quiet.

The room is very specious and the bathroom is huge. The location is nice central location. I think maybe they could have more savoury food. What a surprise to land a room so airy and specious! Overall we had a very pleasant and very comfortable stay. I think there is definetly room for improvement with reference breakfast. We think they should have more savoury food and great variety of fruit juices.

Great place to stay. Very friendly & helpful staff. A bit pricey but large room, dog friendly (10€ daily charges), excellent & free wifi, easy parking (10€/day, cheaper than public), & large screen tv (French satellite). Perfect location: steps to the heart of Aix. Busy street but quiet at night.

Surprisingly pretty hotel once inside, with a lot of character including wooden tree trunks on the ceiling. Very clean and spacious rooms and bathroom. Excellent location. Boutique-feel. Good wifi in rooms. Reception staff a bit moody.

Hotel room was spacious and comfortable for 3 persons. Bathroom was also pretty big. The hotel is located at a perfect location for exploring the city. The room has a weird smell and the hotel did not have a lift. That meant we had to drag our luggage up and down and stairs! The hotel decor was also pretty dated and old.

Good and friendly service... Extremely clean.... Firm & comfortable bed. Lack of cushions or padded backrest on the bed made it impossible to sit up and watch tv in comfort.

Large room, well-supplied with towels, soap, shampoo. Location ideal for access to old town and train and bus stations. Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable desk staff. Hallways and stairs could use a cleaning. Room cleaning was a tad lax.

I was very impressed with this hotel and with the staff. The location was extremely central in Aix en Provence so it was really easy to come and go to wander around this lovely city. Our room was large, cool, very well decorated and very clean. When we arrived, the hotel staff were very quick to help us with our luggage. The room was air conditioned which was great given the heat. I thought it was extremely good value for the price we paid. You must book parking in advance - we hadn't, so juggling the car was a bit tricky. It's also difficult to off-load luggage as the hotel is situated at a busy junction and the space reserved for this purpose seemed to always have the same car parked there!

Excellent Location. On Sunday, there is a good market (bazaar) which the hotel is very close. You can see many reflections of daily life from past to now. Very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. The hotel was also Darius Milhaud's house. There is a dedicated room for him but room is used as a luggage room. we found very disrespectful.

Good central location to main tourist sites. For the air conditioning we had to request a hand control from reception. The controller indicated variable temp but only room temperature air came out. Uncertain whether servicing the room(making bed etc) is included but was done when requested. Parking was available if requested but would suggest only use with a compact size car. In need of makeover. Not good value for tariff charged.

Room was a good size and had plenty of storage. Good bathroom and shower. Pleasantly decorated--probably recently--in neutral tones.Very comfortable bed. Good double glazing so no traffic noise. Fantastic breakfast for 10 euros. A few minutes from the main street. All the old town and the 18th century quarter within easy walking distance.Only 10 minutes, pulling cases, from the Bus Station. Very helpful staff. Porter for luggage. Reception is on first floor which was a bit difficult with cases for us but we got their porter. There is a lift but you would need to ask as it does not go into the reception area. I can't praise Hotel Artea enough and I am an experienced traveller in all grades of hotel.
