This is a magical place and the hosts are absolutely delightful. It's a historic house in an incredibly charming medieval hilltop village in a beautiful area of Burgundy, and it feels like you're in the 16th century (without all the bloodshed, famine and pestilence!).
Abbaye de la Bussière dates back to 1131 and is set on a 6-hecatare private property.

Lovely property in a beautiful area alongside the canal. Great views, lots of walking and very peaceful. The owners are extremely nice people and offer excellent service.
Set on an 8-hectare park in the heart of Burgundy, this hotel is a 16th century castle built in an old monastery. It offers an outdoor swimming pool and free Wi-Fi access in public areas.
Best welcome by a hostess and host during our 10 days in Burgundy. Secure, enclosed bike storage. Just around the corner from at least one excellent restaurant. Hosts were good at providing information, both spoke English. Room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated with beautiful old furniture, and a tile floor. Breakfast buffet was good -- meat, cheese, fruit, croissants, bread, and as an added treat, nonnettes, a Dijon specialty. Room was quiet.
Chateauneuf is a beautiful town with an impressive castle that is well worth visiting.
The hosts are charming - warm, welcoming and helpful. The room is comfortable, clean, and well-decorated, with nice furniture and an excellent shower. Breakfast is abundant and delicious, with croissants, bread, yogurt, and delicious local jams, fruit, meats and cheeses. There is an excellent restaurant a few steps away - L’Orée de Bois. We found Chateauneuf to be a beautiful and peaceful place, full of ancient buildings and stunning views.
The property has a great medieval vibe to the area and a lovely little village. Owners were accommodating for a check in after 8pm.
On Initial entry the stone fireplace really sets the mood. Nice decor. Normal decor in the room. Lovely stone feature wall. Regular sized hotel room, small bathroom but we didn’t need more than a place to stop overnight while driving through France.
Our hostess was welcoming and very friendly. Our rooms were large, quiet equipped with a coffee/tea maker - a nice touch. The continental breakfast, croissants and bread was freshly bought and was served in a cosy dining room.
Chateauneuf is a beautiful medieval village offering a good choice of restaurants.. We will certainly return when next in the area.
Staff very friendly and accommodating. The check-in was easy and the rooms clean and comfortable. The hotel is in the centre of the village and has a nice restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay for three nights.
Picture-perfect location and accommodations. Value for the money is excellent and hotel (B&B) staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Truly a memorable visit and very satisfied with this lodging.
Super friendly hosts, very devoted and helpful. Chateauneuf is like a fairytale village on a hill, great view, friendly people and excellent wine. Bourgogne at its finest.
The little village is really beautiful, the hotel is just next to the castle and we really liked the small wine bar just around the corner. Beds were good.
