As some already noted, Au Grey is not a hotel. But staying on front of it, one barely can imagine, what a gem is hidden inside of this old house. It has only two guest rooms, which are stylishly decorated. Yes, as old house it has certain features, like narrow stairs or low ceiling in bathroom, but it gives to this place an absolutely unique atmosphere, which you cannot find in any hotel. We really felt ourselves as guests in Josette’s home, rather than as unknown tourists in hotel. We saw Honfleur from windows of old Honfleur’s house and I can assure you – this is unforgettable.
Unusual place to stay very clean and warm welcome.
More of a B&B than hotel didn't get access to garden or other areas so was room only really.
Clean, quaint little B&B. Josette was very helpful and the decor of the hotel was authentic and eclectic. There is no on site parking, but parking is nearby. Overall a good stay.
We had the most wonderful stay. We chose four nights and were guided by our host on some truly memorable excursions! Josette even guided us to her favourite restaurants, cafes and villages all of them superb. I loved our conversations over a sumptuous petit dejeuner .. Josette very encouraging of my poor French.. The attic room was worth the extra investment but the bath not suitable for the aged!
The host Josette, the beautiful house. The position and solitude.
The bath/shower, although very attractive, was very impractical.
Josette was so helpful in every way. She steer us toward great restaurants and things to do. Beautiful space and you can walk to everything.
Wonderful place, wonderful hostess. Can't say enough nice things about this gem.
private house, close to marina and restaurants, historical sites and narrow town streets, perfect.
Extremely helpful and friendly host. Eager to make our stay as memorable as possible. Suggested daily activities and good local restaurants, all of which proved excellent. Couldn't be more central and in the ancient quarter. The hotel was dating back to 17c but with some quirky modern decorations and great artistic flair - much of it offered for sale. Adored our attic bedroom with sink surround bath. Breakfast as described, croissants, bread, cake and homemade jams..good supply of coffee, all in big sunny dining room with lovely views over the town. Garden below, a tranquil haven. Would love to return.
Parking up the road out of view, but accessible with 5 minute walk. Cigarette smoke woke me up in mornings, probably drifting up from the garden as house not smokey when you entered it.
Lovely old building very tastefully appointed.
Only cash accepted for payment which we had not been told in advance. Only hand held shower which was very awkward. Could smell cigarette fumes. Did not verify in advance as non-smoking which i should have done.
The small friendliness of the house, the lovely owner and the central location
