In the heart of historic quarter Avignon, the Central Hotel has comfortable guest rooms with free Wi-Fi internet access.
Score from 968 reviews Very good
The Danieli Hotel is at the heart of Avignon Old Town, a quarter mile from the Palais des Papes and a 10-minute walk from the Pont d'Avignon bridge.
Score from 519 reviews Good
The hotel du Palais des Papes enjoys an exceptional location, facing the monument, it stands on 3 floors and benefits from a completely pedestrian area.
Score from 86 reviews Very good
Situated on a tranquil street in Avignon’s city center, Hotel d'Angleterre offers accommodations equipped with modern amenities. A continental breakfast is served and free Wi-Fi access is available.
Score from 481 reviews Good
beautiful courtyard garden area, very quiet, friendly staff, tasty breakfast with good coffee, wifi worked well, excellent value, parking just down the street
liked it all-stayed 2 nights, just wish it could have been longer
Breakfast buffet too expensive for what they offer. Rooms are ok but expensive.
good location, free parking, nice garden
Clean, and the small garden is good.
A bit too expensive considering its location and room size, but Avignon is expensive anyway.
Friendly staff. Reasonable price. Room's clean and equipped with individual airconditioner. The area's safe.
The distance from Avignon Centre train station to the hotel was longer than what I expected. No hairdryer. No elevator. No Kettle.
• Conveniently located near the main train station (but it is something of a walk if you are burdened with luggage) and just outside the city walls. • Wifi works well.
• Essentially, this is a flop house . . . sorry that we booked it. The picture is misleading. • Did not answer question asked through Booking.com regarding how to get to the hotel from the train station. • Although conveniently very near the main train station and just outside the city walls, the location was less than encouraging; it is on a seemingly decrepit street around the corner from the National Police Station. At first, one wondered if it was safe to be out on the street at night, but in the morning it was clear that the hotel is on a quiet street across from university student housing. • Unfriendly receptionist (owner?) – seemed rude (appeared annoyed when he asked if we wanted breakfast the next day); told another guest that he could not get a glass of wine. Did not seem happy to welcome us as guests and treated us as though we were bumpkins who did not know that the code he would provide would get us into the hotel’s main door after hours and that the inner door would be unlocked at that time. His attitude was marginally better when we paid our bill and departed. • Stairs only; no lift. • No assistance with luggage either when checking in or checking out. • Small room in an establishment with a depressing, dark atmosphere and a foul smell about the place (note that the public WC is at the base of the stairs leading up to the rooms). • Rickety end table, small room. • Limited electric outlets; difficult to reach. • Old style tube television (with what might be termed a “mini-screen”); no English language programs. • Mold on roof of shower and bathroom. • Bugs in the bathroom (little white ones that came out, on the first day, from under a wet towel that was left on the floor after a shower). • Cracked tile caulking on floor. • Paint peeling off the walls. • When we complained about the bugs, odor, and wanted to change rooms . . . all were denied.
Friendly and helpful guy at reception
Cleanliness fantastic, comfy bed, nice verandah. So French in eclectic style but with modern bathroom. Location just outside the city walls was quiet and within 10min walking distance to the centre
Lack of hairdryer and no fresh fruit at breakfast
There was some personal service. The hotel has a lovely garden and the breakfast was good. The staff and owners always polite. Within walking distance of city centre.
The room was quite dark. No tea making facilities or hair dryer available.
traditional style of building room opening out onto garden quite area but close to old town.
- 20' walk to the center - Traditional, cute and comfortable room and bed.
- Expensive breakfast (we didn't take it) - A lof of mosquitoes (we had always the window closed)
too short our time there
Hotel is quaint with a nice garden. Room was small but clean with a balcony overlooking the garden. Location was good as we were travelling by train. The hotel is outside the old city walls but easy walking distance to everything. Breakfast was plentiful. Typically cereal, yogurt, baguettes, croissants, jam and coffee which was all fresh and we liked it very much - especially as it was served in the garden.
The only downside was that the staff were somewhat abrupt and not very tolerent. However they did help us by phoning our tour to arrange pickup. WiFi was not great but adequate to check emails and light browsing.
Loved the garden
triple room was the biggest among all the other hotels that i've ever stayed, and the garden was so nice.everything was great
the male staff was not being helpful
We got the best room in the hotel I think because it had the biggest balcony and only one other room had a balcony - and that was smaller. Chairs and a table on it overlooking a beautiful garden which did have tables and chairs for guests. Vending machine had an array of cold drinks. Public parking free and on site which was rare for our French trip in other places.
Room was small and no fridge.
Only the garden. Wifi service but cuts off every few hours.
The staffs had no manners, did not provide sufficient information, and at times response quite rude. I asked for directions from the train station and just told me to get a cab. Gave me wrong information, that there was no access to TGV avignon but to take a cab. Actually there was a shuttle train to TGV every few minutes. I asked for a cup of hot water to drink and lady staff said just run the faucet till hot water comes out and drink that!!! Gee never ever did I get such a service, all other hotels gave me real hot water from kitchen in a pitcher or tea pot! The staff have not manners, does not greet clients or thanked the clients for staying in their hotel. Anyway, will never ever go back their again. Other hotels I booked was good or great!
A pleasant, clean and quiet room at a modest price.
The wifi was inactivated at night.
Loved the typical French style, especially the gardens abd decor. The lady in charge was extremely helpful with taxis. Breakfast was a delight......Sitting in the garden terrace! Very convenient to city and to TGV.
Cannot think of anything!!
The location is good, close to road to the TGV and the town. Its a lovely typically French hotel which makes a great change from bland chains!
Although the hotel does not look very attractive from the outside, the interior and garden is charming. The position in walking distance to the center, the hotel in the quiet place. Parking is not problem.
Location. Clean enough. Nice garden.
Poor lighting in room. Furnishings need upgrading. One chair in the reception area cannot be used for sitting. Why, therefore, have it in the reception area. Owner lacked graciousness. He was doing us such a favor.
The location was great as I have stayed 1 street over and chose this place because the other was booked solid
I get panicky some times when I loose critical information like passwords and access codes. If you loose yours you better be able to climb in your window...
Worth what we paid.
Further from attractions than we thought and in need of redecoration.
Rustic, good breaktast and working WiFi. Location is very good if you´re traveling by train or car. Garden was the best part of the hotel, because it was very hot in Avignon during our time. It´s wonderful eat breakfast there or just sit and take it easy.
