Au Saint Roch - Hôtel et Jardin    

Peaceful, little far but it's ok. Lovely garden Never bother the traveller.

There's a vending machin in the garden. I put 2 euro and pressed the Ice tea but Coka cola came out.

Cold and wet bathroom. There was some kind of oilcloth under the bedsheet that was very unpleasant and uncomfortable. Poor noise isolation: we could hear our neighbours very well. Design of the room was not like at the pictures: wardrobe by ikea, poor furnishings

The garden was great for the kids to play in. Short walk from the rail station was very convenient.

Nice room, nice location. Basic but good for what we wanted.

On the first night we couldn't get into the Hotel and the number that we were left was not being answered. The only reason we managed to get in was because after waiting outside in the rain, a couple came in and we went through the open door. If they didnt come back we would have been stranded.

The location was okey and the hotel was clean.

I find in france you could have luggage all over the place and you would never get the staff to help you. I fin 8 euros for breakfast too much and the staff here were rigid and stiff. Nof offer of even a cup of tea. You only got the room and that is it. All business no informality or wishes for a good stay. They cannot be bothered but that was true in arles and the shops. I will never go to france again or any country that uses the eur0

Good location, and easily caught the bus from the tgv Station towards the Central Station. Lots of French character, and good value for money. Break-fast was also good.

After 7pm the reception closes, and staff are not available. Access is via coded lock.

Helpful staff although not speaking much English, we still managed to communicate. Cute interior design in reception area.

The big room downstairs that we stayed did not look as great as what appeared on the Internet but it was comfortable.

I did not like anything at this hotel poor wifi and room poor .

This was a clean and mostly quiet hotel not far from the walled city and transport links. Nothing spectacular, really. The garden that other reviewers on this site have raved about wasn't in use when I was there, even on the days it didn't rain, which was disappointing as the indoor breakfast room was bland and depressing like hotels everywhere.

No lift, so two flights of stairs to climb. Slightly brusque service from the owner; he wasn't really rude but not welcoming either. There is absolutely nothing to do and nowhere to go for food unless you walk 10-15 min into the old city, so no option to pop out for a quick bite.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great - a good variety of foods. The room was big with a good sized bathroom - the balcony was lovely and looking over the garden gave the room a nice feel. The bed was comfy.

Room rather spartan.

Lovely atmosphere - attractive, relaxed, easy. Able to park our hire car in the evenings and to get in and out of Avignon.

Wish it had been 5 mins walk further in but then we probably would have nowhere for the car.

The location, the silence of the room

Room N. 16,facing the garden on the ground floor, no blinders at the main door, an automatic external light turning on during the night at every blow of the wind. The toilet, always smelling badly. The snails up the door and the window. The manager, who couldn't care less about our complaints and didn't give us another room.

Very friendly and helpful Manager. Walking distance to the centre of Avignon and yet very quiet. Lovely little garden. Couldn't fault the hotel.

The old building was charming. It was a lovely treat having breakfast out in the garden each morning. Eric was so helpful with information. Parking was very close.

It was a little walk, about 10-15 min to the city. We felt a little uncomfortable doing that walk after dark.

It was a traditional friendly hotel with plenty of character.the people on reception were very helpful. Only stayed one night(planned) so cannot give a more detailed explanation.

Room on second floor, no elevator, too small- no closet, no room for even one suitcase. Then offered another room, on ground floor by the garden - room OK but NO WINDOW...- had to aired, and had to sleep with door open.. We saw there are better rooms there, so you can choose this hotel if you like to gamble.

Simply appointed but tasteful room with decent breakfast. Very well located for the city - short walk from train station and Avignon centre.

Location just on edge of old city. Value for money and the garden.

Location is good, close to centre station, and 5 minutes walking distance to old town.

Does not have lift, people with big luggage should consider this.

Location was great once we found it. Decor was charming. Price was right.

No lift so it was very difficult getting luggage up 3 flights of stairs. I realize that these old places can't put in a lift very easily so it would be nice if there was at least an offer to help carry luggage up. The room was charming to look at but the bed was so UNcomfortalbe. Very hard and the pillows were thin and hard too. No live bed bugs but I did find a dead one. I always tear apart the bed and look for them even before I bring in our bags.
