Friendly staff without being too pushy

We arrived at 3pm but the Auberge was shut and locked. We could not get in until 6:30pm

Being unable to access the hotel before 18.30.The most expensive menu was of no greater value than the cheaper one.The drinks across the board are far too expensive especially for this location

The restaurant and the food. It was excellent and was of a far higher standard than the outward appearance of the hotel suggested. The breakfast was also good

The Booking in times were from 12 noon-2.30pm and 6.30-10.30pm. We arrived at 4.00pm and had over 2 hours to wile away in a town that has no cafe, pub or come that anything.

Convenient as we were arriving late after cycling from London. Late check-in and restuarant as part of the hotel was absolutely needed

Friendly helpful staff, proximity to A16 enroute to the tunnel and restaurant on site. Food was good.

Very basis rooms. Rooms with view of river ...but through velux roof window! Quite steep stairs to rooms for older people

Helpful and freindly staff. Good location about 1 hour from Calais, easy to find. Good car parking. Quiet with no church bells, railway or road noise during the night. WiFi available.

Proximity to the river needs a watchful eye for mosquitos.

The family room , unlike the other rooms, has traffic noise which is disaster when it is hot as there is no AC

The room was very clean and has a fan if needed. The restaurant offered a reasonably priced good 3 course meal served in a very pleasant restaurant. The price is very reasonable for what you get. The location is convenient, just 40 minutes from Calais and 25 from Bolongne, 5 minutes off the main auto route

The room was a little small and only have dorma windows.

It's only 60k from Calais so only short morning journey to the shuttle

Room very small and basic (although to be fair price is pretty cheap). Bed pushed against wall so only one way in! Was hoping for our last French meal to be typical rustic type but restaurant was over priced so don't believe many guests would eat there. Squeaky floor and noisy taps don't bode for a quiet morning exit.

Cleanliness of the rooms ( we had a family room 2 single beds and a double bed,split into 2 rooms) comfortable beds, good shower room & toilet. Very good breakfast delivered to the table.

Dining was a let down. Childrens meals were expensive and not really child friendly, small amount of chicken nuggets and dauphan potatoes (chips would have been a better choice). The adult meals were very expensive and not very good, not what is expected from a Logis. Service was very very slow

Very simple accomodation but with all the facilities one requires. Very clean. The restaurant was closed (being a Tuesday) but it looked charming, professional and I would have liked to eat there. Breakfast simple but generous and the owner manager was efficient and friendly.

Very friendly staff

The Hotel was everything we needed for an overnight stay with two children (aged 5 & 8). The room was great for a family. Owner was an extremely nice man indeed and he had every right to be proud of his Hotel and it's setting. I regret that he spoke no English and I no French because I was unable to give him any compliments - the phrase book I had seemed to concentrate on how to complain! We had no complaints. I would say don't pay more to stay in a Hotel in the centre of Montreuil - the setting of this Hotel a short drive away by the river is lovely. Food/wine was extremely good and the children were well catered for.

It was a very hot night (which is not the fault of the hotelier!!) and it is a shame that a good deal of the French motorists pay no attention to their own speed limits. The Hotel is right on the road in a supposedly in a 50kph area - but most of the traffic and lorries during the night thundered past at an alarming rate. Air conditioning would have made this hotel 'luxury' in my opinion and I would have expected to pay more for it - but that is the only improvement I could think of.

No nonsense budget place to stay within easy distance of Channel ports. Nice position overlooking river.

Restaurant menu was quite expensive for guests staying on a budget, although reputation obviously brought in diners from outside. Food quality was excellent but was out of kilter with the budget accommodation.

Breakfast was continental and perfectly acceptable. We had dinner in the restaurant and thought the food was excellent. Most of all, it is family run - the proprietor and his family (his son is the chef) were so friendly and made us feel totally welcome. We will definitely return.

It is only a budget hotel but the staff are very friendly and it's in A pleasant location and very comfortable also a good breakfast

Set in a nice village and has very nice outside eating area overlooking the river

We were severely delayed after the motorway was completely closed north of Orleans. I rang the hotel at around 6.00pm to let them know that we would probably be arriving around 11.00pm and was told that the owner locks up at 10.00pm and leaves the premises but that he would leave the keys under a flowerpot outside. It was just as well that I spoke reasonable French as the owner spoke no English whatsoever.

The restuarant was very good.

By a very noisy busy road, could not sleep very well.

Location and simple B+B with good restaurant. Family room had dividing wall providing some privacy.

It had a decent car park which was important to us as we were returning home after a european road trip visiting various motoring events and race circuits in our pride and joy. The location was easy to find and ok for an overnight stay before returning home the next morning.

Bedroom smell of urine and vomit. Dirty bed linen ( which they did change right away after we complained, but offered no apology ). Dirty carpets. Paper thin partioned walls to maximise the number of rooms. Yoghurts being set at the tables ready for next mornings breakfast before we had finished our evening meal. No plates for breakfast ( all guests used their saucers from under the coffee cups.

Very handy for Calais

Restaurant was too gourmet for us and price of meals was very high.

The food was superb. The room was comfortable. The location was by the river and would have been nice if the weather hadnn't been wet.

We stayed at this hotel as it was a convenient stop over for the Dover/Calais ferry - It is a well run, friendly, family run business with an excellent restaurant - I would recommend it to anyone looking for reasonably priced, overnight accommodation in this area of France.

Helpful and friendly staff. Good parking, excellent free WiFi and CLEAN room. have stayed before and would stay again.
