We had a friendly welcome good dinner in front of wonderful log and comfortable night. Good breakfast. It was not possible to get into the Auberge until 6.30pm when Reception opened - this was not very convenient.

This Auberge has an excellent reputation for food. It is a convenient stop-over near to the crossing to England. It is very competitively priced. Although the bed was comfortable and the room clean, we spent a rather restless night due to noise, as the walls are thin and the floors and stairs thinly carpeted.

The hotel is very conveniently situated for our journeys to and from the uk and we have used it several times. It is good value as we travel with pets, and the service is good. The breakfast was very good. We have had very good evening meals there in the past but didn't dine there this time due to a late arrival time. The bedrooms although very clean are becoming a little tired and could do with refreshing especially the mattress which is in need of replacing.

We liked the youthful and very friendly staff. When I inquired about the chef, Stephenie replied, "he is very good,he's my brother".She was right, the meal was exellent. The wine and cognac wasn't bad either. Unfortunatly, the restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday nights, so we had to move on.We would have liked to have stayed longer, but we visit France for the lovely food and wine and friendly people. We have been visiting your "lovely country since 1973, so you must be doing something right. See you next year.

Auberge de la Canche is very easy to find - straight off the a16 and head for Montreuil. It's about 3km on right. Parking good. Staff very friendly, dinner nicely done, not too expensive. After a 475 mile drive we were made very welcome. Bed comfy, bathroom compact but worked well, nice view over water meadows at rear of building. Breakfast particularly nice. For iec Wine Society members, it's about 3km from the Montreuil shop. Dunkirk harbour about 100Km, good hypermarket shopping and cheapish diesel in Coquelles - take 1st eurotunnel exit, and head away from the tunnel. Thoroughly reccommended.

Unfortunately not the fault of the hotel, but we had to cancel our second night, as the stairway created a problem for my wife who has a serious back problem. Very pleasant owner, and very understanding re our early departure.

Staff were very friendly, breakfast was good and the evening meal excellent. We had the family room which was large and easily accomodated us. Had a shower which was great as none of the other hotels at this level we stayed at did. This is definately somewhere we would stay again. I am a light sleeper so was disturbed by some road noise, the rest of the family were fine.

The staff were very helpful and the restaurant was excellent. The shower room was very small, and the floorboard that gave when you stepped on it - possibly part of the charm of an old building.

We stopped over here on our way from Calais down to La Rochelle. It was very relaxing and the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent, I was part of a group of 8 and everyone would go back just for the food.

The Meal in the restaurant was good - although we found both the food and the wine far more expensive than further south in France Not being able to access the hotel between 14.30 and 18.30. After a ten hour drive arriving at 17.30 we then had an hour to wait. The hotel was completelty closed and we had not noticed this on the booking form as first page contradicted this. The bedroom and stairway carpeting were very worn and badly stained. It was noticeable that there was no smoke detector in the bedroom although they were in corridors. It also appeared that there were no staff resident in the hotel at night, not returning until 8.00 am in time for breakfast.

Good food but the wine was expensive. A friendly family run auberge in a pleasant location and within easy driving distance of Calais. The walls were a bit thin and bedrooms a bit cramped. When we arrived at 6pm there was nobody to let us in. We had to go round to the back to the kitchens to make ourselves known.

This is a simple clean hotel on the banks of the River Canche. It is close to Montreuil and the towns of Berck and Le Touquet. Ideal for a quick trip across the Channel for a couple of days. The mattress on the bed was a little tired and could do with replacing as it sagged in the middle.
