Idyllische Lage in einem kleinen Dorf. Guter Ausgangspunkt zum Wandern und für Radtouren. Sehr nettes Personal. Es wird englisch und auch etwas deutsch gesprochen.

Mein Enkel, 14 J., und ich haben das Hotel als Zwischenstopp auf der Hin- und Rückreise nach Südfrankreich bewohnt. Die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich, es war schön ländlich und nicht touristisch, die Küche gut. Sehr zuvorkommend, so dass wir auf der Rückreise wieder dort übernachtet haben.

It was very convenient for a motorway stop on our way from Calais to Switzerland - it was 5 hours drive from each. We had a good French meal in the restaurant, and next day's breakfast was at the back of the local epicerie. All very authentically French.

We stayed in the annexe which was fine, but the bathroom was a bit like a bathroom that you might find in a caravan - very small and plastic. Fine for an overnight stop though.

It was Xmas and the whole village was decorated! I have never seen so many reindeers! Even the bus top had a beautiful Belen! Such a treat after driving through the forest in the rain to be met with such a bright reception. So friendly , great food in the auberge. Breakfast fantastic! A gem! Will be back.

Make sure you have fuel in your tank as there is no local fuel station.

Not made welcome at all on first visit indeed opposite. On second visit one staff member was friendly. Toilet/Shower in room was smallest I have ever seen -very cramped.

This is the kind of hotel that you aspire to in rural France. A pretty building in a peaceful village, with geese and a river. Warm welcome. Well-equipped room in the annexe up the road. Excellent food at a reasonable price. Good breakfast in a room shared with the adjoining villiage épicierie. We were delighted to be there.

We stayed at La Fontaine for one night on our way back home. Slightly but not too far off the beaten track this delightful extremely sleepy little village was an excellent distraction to our long journey home. You would never stumble across this family owned place only through the wonders of internet booking.com will you find it! Very basic rooms, and be warned we were in the annex and it was hot and airless, one night was plenty. But, the actual Auberge was a delight and the food was superb. We were looked after by Florian the son was delightful he welcomed us in English and translated the menu for us. The breakfast was excellent. We travel with our dogs and this is a good place to stop on the way home or on your way South.

The food was excellent, both in value and taste and the proprietor was very helpful. The small village situation gives it a real air of rural France

Its location is fabulous, way out in the country, very rural and quiet. The restaurant is in a wonderful old building, and is very cosy and welcoming. The food is superb.

The rural setting and atmosphere

We used this as a halfway stopover on the way from England to Switzerland and would definitely do so again. Perfect family stay as there were separate sleeping areas for the children (age 6, 4 and 2) and us, whilst all being in the same room. The village was pretty and the meal in the Auberge's restaurant was a wonderful taste of the true France. The children endured their delicious plates of crudites because they were decorated with a fluttering foil butterfly! It gave us a quick fix of lovely relaxing rural France and was quick to get to from the motorway.

Staff were very friendly. Food was great, as was the location. I would definately stay there again.

The family room we stayed in could do with updating - a coat of paint and new beds to spruce it up a bit. Couldn't get the tv to work.

We stayed in a local annex. The room was fine and there was adequate car parking. Dinner was in the main hotel and breakfast was is the local epicerie. All places were fairly close together so there was no problem in walking from one to another. The village itself is set in very rural countryside and a considerable amount of building work was being done on old barns and cottages. It looked the place to be if you were considering purchasing a second home in France being so close to the motorway! We would recommend this place and would return on another occasion as it was so different and special.

Check in time was 1730! We did a tour of the village and church as we arrived around 1500!

We loved the setting of the hotel in a quiet village and it was a welcome stop on our route south. The fact that it was unique rather than part of a chain was part of the attraction. The evening meal was excellent, served outside in a small marquee, decorated with lots of potted plants and greenery. The rooms were in a separate building from the restaurant. Our room, for a family, was basic, but a good size and comfortable. We would be happy to stay here again.

We booked the 'suite familiale' (up to 4 persons) for one night, as a stopover on our way south. The room was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space. The room is conveniently divided into two sleeping areas (with a bathroom in between them). We also enjoyed dinner at their restaurant, which was a special all-you-can-eat cold buffet - no individual menus because there was some kind of festival the night we stayed. The food was great; dozens of regional dishes: fishes, meats, salads, pies. Breakfast was simple but good: croissants, baguette, cereals, juice, coffee, the usual. Service was very agreeable also. We like the location too: a very tranquil and charming small village, not far from the highway. All in all we were very content.

Staff were very friendly, it was in great rural location and the food excellent. Will definately be going back for a longer stay. Thank you for making us feel welcomed. A special thanks to the barman who's English was better than our French. Merci

Enjoyed my stay. I thought the price of 14euros for 50cl of house wine as too expensive but hey, when you eat and drink from a menu with no prices then I guess you will get hit!

Delightful little country hotel in a picturesque hamlet. Very warm welcome. Very comfortable room in the annexe about 100m from the main building but with parking outside the door. Well provided bathroom with bath. Delicious evening meal and continental breakfast - fantastic bread and lovely honey. Knowledge of French is very helpful - didn't try in English so don't know how much is spoken but impression of not much.

Convenient location from the autoroute for an overnight stay. Good directions from the web site. A more characterful place than one of the chain hotels. Excellent restaurant and good breakfast. A tiny but adequate en-suite shower/wc unit.

Het geheel was volledig value for money! Wij houden erg van deze oubollige sfeer met veel sfeer en lekker eten met een zeer vriendelijke ontvangst en goede bedden. Continuez!
