Set on the top floor of a 3-floor building facing the Roya River, this guest accommodation is located in the medieval heart of Ventimiglia. It features 2 sun terraces, and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 193 reviews Very good
The food was fantastic as well as the breakfast so compliments to the chef! The room was basic with no view outside the window. The view and restaurant layout however was fantastic . Very memorable . Room rates were very attractive , food was average price. Extremely helpful staff. No perminant reception, family ran feel. All in all very happy.
Room was basic Shower was interesting to say the least The room view was non existent
A terrific escape. Peillon is as close to a medieval village as you can get. No commercial activity at all, except for Auberge de La Mad one. The facility is quite nice, the food is excellent, and the staff is friendly, accommodating and pleasant. The wi fi is weak, but on the other hand, you go to a medieval village to get away from those modern entanglements, no?
location views staff comfortness
overpriced: - rooms - breakfast - reastaurant
Dining on the terrace was a real treat, breakfast as the sun rose, or dinner as the sun set
No shower, basin cracked, no pillows on beds, had to hunt to find them, bathroom not too clean throughout our stay.m
Great location next to medieval city, awesome dinner and breakfast
Wifi kept disconnecting
Next to a very beautiful village Peillon, which is small but very beautiful and not touristic.
Need to upgrade the wifi system.
very nice place secluded at the top of a nice valley next to a very charming little village in the mountains. Easy to visit by walking. very attentive staff. very good dinner.
small comment: it would be good to be able to fix the shower hose to the wall rather than to keep it in our hands
The place, the accommodation, the food and the service are all wonderful
The hotel is situated on the side of a mountain and the road has to be treated with respect. But once you get there the hotel is far from 21st century and plush but more an old farm house that has been converted. However the greeting received was encouraging the room was basic but good enough and we were made very welcome. We ate on arrival and the menu is fixed at €55 each for a 5 course meal. The food from start to finish was excellent, the service was good and all in all it was very good. Overall our stay for one night was €330.00 for bed breakfast and evening meal which was a bit pricey but worth it for it's stunning location and considering it was on the south of France just outside Monaco. We will probably never go there again simply as we won't be in the area but if your somewhere near give it a go.
Great help from staff. Beautiful meal. 2 minute walk to Peillion village. Parking for our station wagon. English speaking staff was very helpful.
Our wi-fi only worked downstairs.
the town was interesting because it was basically abandoned. felt like we had the entire town to ourselves.
it was a bit sad. not a place with any life whatsoever. pretty and worth a stop if you are passing through but not a destination
Peillon itself is stunning and if you can, walk up the path into the hills behind for the best view. The Hotel was charming in a sleepy village way and the evening meal and view from the balcony were excellent
An excellent Auberge serving locally sourced Provençal food expertly cooked by a father and son team. The rooms are beautifully furnished and nothing is too much trouble. The medieval village is unspoilt and stunning. Look no further, we came for the night and stayed all week
It was an old clean place we love it. The owner, Chef and staff were very attentive.
Exquisite cuisine and amazing atmoaphere. A place from a fairytale, modest but an unforgettable experience. Quiet yet very close to the city (Nice).
Rooms and bathrooms are plain and modest, but clean and comfortable.
Location with fantastic views.
Food was expensive and there was no other alternative in the village.
- great location, great view - very friendly staff - great breakfast
- the food is a bit expensive and there aren't many alternatives to choose from
Staff was very pleasant , and the food was excellent
Location is good with beautiful view on mountains and coast. Even with very difficult road, more than 15% of inclination and very dangerous curves.
Very unpleasent stuff. I payed 123 EUR instead of 98 which I booked. Big pressure of owner for 25 additional euros. Very, very unpleasent. Even for this inconvinience is responsible Booking.com because when I booked it was price 73 EUR for 1 night (19th - 20th April 2014.) and additional 25 EUR for child in extra bed in total 98 EUR. It was very clearly noted. Unfortunately very agressive owner took from me additional 25 EUR and on my big surprise it was really written in booking reservation I received by e-mail. It was very bad case from Booking.com to write 98 EUR during booking on web site and another price in e-mail confirmation. Agressive owner is surplus.
The food was outstanding!!!! The staff was very helpful and courteous.
To get to the hotel you have to drive up an extremely curvy road and it was a little further from the location we were visiting than we were hoping for. It was only 6 km away but it took 45 min. due to the crazy curvy road.
Beautiful place, if you take a room with view
Rooms are not well isolated from noise; The staff is not so friendly
We loved everything, breakfast, lunch, dinner, rooms, quiet and exceptional charm. Owner and staff were extraordinarily professional, friendly and welcoming.
Fantastic location (nestled in the hills), beautiful view of the village of Peillon from private terrace, old-world charm of hotel premises (which are in great condition), delicious food
No menu options for breakfast (although the breakfast was ample and delicious)
The wonderful staff and the wonderful food. The hotel's situation is unrivalled.
There is nowhere for guests to sit before or after dinner, but there rarely is in French hotels.
The courtyard view which I booked was less than a Yard in front of our window and was more like a brick wall view.
