Located in the centre of Santenay, L'Etape de Santenay welcomes you in the vineyards of Côte de Beaune. You can sample traditional meals in the restaurant and the hotel also has a shaded terrace.

This is a self-contained auberge. They have private, walled parking, and you can get breakfast and dinner in the hotel. Plus, it is quick and easy to reach it from the highway.
The wall attachment for the hand-held shower head had broken. Thus the only way I could shower was to leave the water running on my feet, to keep the soap moistened while I soaped myself, and then to rinse the soap off. According to my skillful husband, putting up a new shower head would be easy and inexpensive.
We have stayed at many locations on France in this price range and the room wS poor dark and dingy and no restaurant facilities looked like we were only people staying and felt spooky needs an upgrade
le calme le rapport qualité-prix
pas d'ascenseur ( vieilles personnes)
clean, spacious rooms price/quality close to the highways nice stopover
old fashioned but clean
We found this auberge looking for a cheap place to stay. Perfectly in la France profonde. Great little town half way to our destination
Could have stayed longer to explore the vineyards we past...
Located near motorway and town centre
Dark rooms; no wi fi
You can still see that this hotel used to be beautiful, but it is long gone glory. Still there is the very friendly and nice owner! Plus free parking behind a gate.
Overdue maintenance in all area's.
Had a dark and musty air, closed curtains limited the natural light. It needed a lot of work to briung it up to standard, both inside and out. Breakfast had good fresh croissants and bread, but dinner (taken in hotel due to lack of alternatives due to location) was a bit disappointing (wine - little choice - cheap and good though.
Liked that we could walk to the Lamelloise (3-star Michelin restaurant) and that it was on the edge of Chagny. Nice to open windows onto greenery even if it hid the car park. Hall and car park noise do annoy late at night.
The owner is not a welcoming type and has a bit of the Basil Fawlty about him! That said, we did eventually prise a smile out of him. No offer to assist with the luggage.
food in the restaurant was good, decor of room quite nice
tiny bathroom with small shower, firm beds and discovering later that we had been charged for dessert which should have been included in our menu du jour
Everything is in place - goodwill rooms, bath tub, cable-tv, guarded parking, and the fastest wi-fi I ever experienced in even the most expensive hotels - and then you can walk to one of the world's best restaurants and spend your money on three-star Michelin excellence.
